Back in the late 1990s I was taking pictures of bands in local clubs. The rangefinder was excellent in this low light situation. I wanted to rely on available light as much as possible. I ended up buying a M6 High Magnification 0.85 (small dial). This with my two fast lenses did the trick and worked beautifully. Still have the little set. Still works fine.
Maybe I should make a video about my M6. Cheers.
That’s awesome! So you got the classic with a 0.85 finder. That’s quite rare! I love my M6. It’s so easy to use and reliable. Never had an issue with it (knock on wood) 😆
Love the m6 and love learning about all the versions
Thank you so much for tuning in! I hope the video was helpful 😊
I was hoping to see more about that blue M6.
That’s a separate video! Actually 2 videos 😊

Everything I could ever want to know about the M6 and more! 😃😃
M6 overload! 😄 Thank you for helping with the filming 🥰
Thank yooo!!! i LOOK forward every time i hear from you!!!
I could use another Rangefinder. This time I think digital.
Thank you!!! Which digital are you thinking of? The M11??
I like shooting street, so currently i have a 50,35 lux.I have an MP. Will i have to get Lenses made for the digital Rangefinder(M11) or can i use the lenses that i use for my MP?
Thanks!@@NoctiGirl
Sounds like your 50 and 35 lux are both M mount lenses! You use them on your MP right? If that's the case, you will be able to use them on the M11 as well! Are your lenses 6-bit coded? Meaning, are they modern or vintage lenses?
Hello,
Yes,I believe they are both M mount lenses.The 35 is model#11726 and the 50 model#11728 they're a treat on my MP.
Good to go?@@NoctiGirl
They should be good to go! But if they are older lenses they are most likely not 6-bit coded. Meaning when you mount them on the M11 the camera won’t know what lenses they are. You will need to manually tell the camera what lenses you have mounted. If this is too troublesome, you can send your lenses in to Leica for them to be 6-bit coded! This way every time you Mount your lenses your M11 will automatically know what you have mounted 😉
New subscriber. Thanks!!
Thanks for watching and subscribing! 😊
I have the Leica M6 classic titanium version with Ostrich/Emu leather and the following lenses:
90mm f/2 Summicron
35mm f/1.4 Zeiss Distagon ZM
21mm f/1.4 Summilux
Nice! The Ostrich leather adds a really cool look. What color? 😃

Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!!
Thanks Greg!! 😄🤩🥳
Very informative. Thank you : )
Thanks for tuning in! 😊
Very interesting, of course, although I'm hoping for a separate video on your blue Leica treasure. 💙
Yes yes yes!! Coming soon at the closest RUclips near you! 😊😍💙
@NoctiGirl Perfect. I think that you should just title it, 'Blue Movie - Barely Legal', and you should get about a million views within the first day.
Hahaha "barely legal"... 🤣 I hope I'd get a millions views!! 😆
I'd be happy with any kind of Leica!
Haha, me too! 😊
Where do I get that shirt.!.
That's a COOPH t-shirt! You can get it here: store.cooph.com/en-us/collections/stylish-t-shirts-for-photographers/products/t-shirt-camchart-1?variant=38018457600199
Do you know anything about Leica's decision to delete the self-timer from its film cameras? I have an M-A, and the only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a self-timer.
Ummmm sorry I do not know about that 🤔
@@NoctiGirl , I have this expensive Leica film camera and I can't use it to take simple selfies. I know I can buy a long, shutter-release cable or an after-market, spring-loaded shutter release mechanism, but...
Hahaha take selfies with your phone! Use your beautiful Leica film camera for meaningful photo projects 😊
@@NoctiGirl, what's more meaningful than a selfie of you and your friends? Really.
@@Gravitys-NOT-a-force • It is my understanding that they deleted the self-timer from the M series back in the 1950s when Leica started making more and more simple versions (M2, M1). Then when the M6 came out they use the space to hold the battery. One thing about more simple is that means less complicated. Two benefits are cheaper to build and fewer things to wear out or break.
If you really want to use a timer, get a threaded, spring-wound unit and just attach when needed. If that wears out or breaks, just buy a new timer instead of needing to get your Leica repaired. Food for Thought.
I have the M6 titanium version I hope find the matching summilux 😄
That’s a sexy camera!! Will be hard to find a matching lens tho 😅
@@NoctiGirl yes and very expensive 🙈
😆😅🙉
Ok
🤓
Do you think the M6's light metering ability improved over the years? Or remains the same since it's introduction.
I think the internal metering definitely has improved over the years. Especially the meter on the new M6 Reissue is supposedly on par with the MP meter, but I really can’t tell you “by how much”. I guess you’ll just need to try them all out 😉
@NoctiGirl Definitely it will have improved, if only in respect of maintainability. The joy of the M6 or MP, for example, is the ease of adding filters without too much interference in respect of the metering. Yellow seems the most 'neutral'.
Totally! I love the TTL metering so I can swap filters so easily without needing to much thinking. Especially when I shoot with my nocti I’m always using ND filters…
@NoctiGirl I've added a yellow filter on my black chrome version. Plus Ilford PanF (50 ASA), and will try on my M6 what can be achieved... 😎
That's perfect for a sunny day with puffy clouds 😄
Where could I get that t-shirt?…👍🏾👊🏾😏
The t-shirt is from COOPH! 😄
