I love how this rendition doesn't just go through the same notes two or three times, it changes things up and tells a sort of story. From the beginning the standard theme plays, reenacting Kirby's first confrontation with Marx. But right after the first iteration (around 1:07 ) things change. To me this brings to mind the final blow of that first fight. Marx is sent hurtling into the comet Nova, likely trying to hold onto whatever semblance he can. Around 1:24, Marx's lifeless body floats amid the debris of the destroyed comet, slowly being soaked in its energy until he is strong enough to return to life. As he absorbs more of Nova's power and begins his metamorphosis into Marx Soul (and the music heightens in intensity), he transports Kirby to a new battleground for one last clash with the hero who took everything from him. Cue 2:21, a haunting reprise of the main theme to offset how unhinged Marx Soul appears. Coming right after a high-energy section makes this one even more beautiful and frightening to listen to, as if Marx was regaining his composure after an outburst. Playing the first portion an octave lower helps the creepy factor a lot. From here the reprise continues, largely the same as before but with different chords or progressions in some places to denote that this battle, while similar to the last, isn't quite the same. 3:27 is where everything comes apart for Marx Soul--despite his new powers and renewed vigor he falls to Kirby again, this time (presumably) for good. The frenzied tone here is perfect for Marx's last throes of anguish as his body is destroyed, followed by an eerie repeat of the melody's iconic first notes as a final send-off for Marx. An amazing rendition of a fantastic piece, wonderful job.
3:27 I imagined at the moment Kirby defeats Marx, Marx in his last moments helplessly and desperately tells Kirby: how is it possible this cannot be happening...I thought I'd get it... I had it all to win, I gave it my all and still ended up defeated, my last chance was ruined, kirby, how did you do it? Kirby: 🫤🫴 Marx:Haaaaaaaaaaaaa.......
idk whether it's a different perspective on this, that makes this music much more beautiful or the equivalent of an english teacher overanalyzing 1 sentence
Zohar002 PLEASE LET US KNOW YOU ARE BACK!!!!!!!! PLEASE, you have been one of the best pianists I have ever heard in my life. No other youtuber has so many memorable compositions. Please speak to us!
thank you so so so so so much for making this, i have literally ALWAYS wanted to hear an in depth piano cover of this song that captures the mournful lunatic energy of the composition. this is so extremely satisfying beyond what i'd hoped for, thank you so much
That's great you're back! We all missed you for years! What about your other awesome videos, including "Corridors of time," "Secret forest" etc.? Will we be able to see them again? Those were the best piano arrangements I've ever seen!
Is he really back? I've been listening to these piano arrangements for years. They've gotten me through some dark days. Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming
For a couple of years I have been coming back to your channel to listen to your renditions. Just a moment ago I got really bummed out seeing but two videos left, only to discover you´re back with a new channel! Welcome back!
It's hard to believe this account might be the real zohar, but if it is, why so late? Still thank you so much for your arrangements, which had inspired many others like me to play piano!
i don't know if you are zohar but i think it doesn't matter, it's always good to find another piano channel on youtube. i'm looking forward to hear one of your arrangements.
Are you really Zohar002? His music means a lot to me and I've been haunting his channel for years (only to see it recently removed). If you're not him, you need to say so. You're getting people's hopes up.
If you really are Zohar002, please do a Reddit AMA. There are so many fans, worldwide, who want to know why the arrangements stopped so abruptly, and for so many years.
dude... im so angry right now...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! do you know how long weve been waiting to hear from you?! you have a fan base that think you may of even died!! I hope this is the real Zohar im so excited...
Could you re-upload or re-record the old songs you did? Your renditions were a step up from the other great performances people have done before and since, and it would be a real gift to all of your fans as well as all the fans of videogame music in general.
You’re quite mistaken here. I’ve known this man since he was a child, and he is a genuine prodigy. By age 9, he was already playing Nikolai Kapustin and had mastered both books of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier. In this video, I believe he sight-read the piece, and this might be only his third playthrough. If you watch carefully, you’ll notice how each repeat is a unique variation, showcasing his exceptional technique. Instead of letting your ego cloud your judgment, try to appreciate the incredible talent he brings to the world. Despite his prodigious abilities, he has always been a humble performer. Unfortunately, he often encounters people with your mindset, which he finds disheartening. Holding onto such a perspective will hinder your own growth, as it prevents you from learning and appreciating new things.
