Carlini is also great with the kids. When I was that kids age I think I would have been scared or at least intimidated by Mike. This kid understood the playfulness of it gave it right back to Mike. Fun game.
I love watching games with this guy. Very entertaining. Most of the time he lets the kids win. Sometimes he "forgets" to stop the clock and lets his time run out on purpose. And at other times, he is in position to checkmate the kids but manages to subtly lose to boost their confidence. The kids love to play him. He is a very good player. But above all, a kind man.
Absolutely lovely how Mike deals with the kid and amazing the way Golan plays and interacts. Congrats and thank you both for the amazing game

If the remaining Rook on f4 takes the queen (Rxf7), then mike has Rook on c file to c8 check (Rc8+) Only move for golan is to block with rook on f7 to f8 (Rf8) mike then delivers checkmate by taking the rook with his rook (Rxf8#)

In the 4 knights game Italian variation , which was this, I used to be afraid to take the pawn on e4 with the knight 4. ..Nxe4 because of 5. Bxf7+ hurting blacks pawn structure badly and messing up black's castling, as Mike pointed out. But it turns out this is actually a bad move for white, evaluation drops a point, as he will get his knights kicked around and an awkward position after. Now I play 4. ..Nxe4 *hoping* white will play 5. Bxf7+.
