    We know that Galicia is not as famous as the Mediterranean, but it is better this way, we want to preserve the environment and nature without tourist overcrowding. The weather in summer is perfect, but it's our secret, I liked that in the video you say that it always rains ;). Spectacular work, thank you very much.

      I agree. You have a paradise up there that really shouldn’t get as overcrowded as the Mediterranean. I think this is what makes Galicia so special. It’s nature and the opportunity to fully enjoy it without thousands of people around you 🤩
      Well kept secret by the way! Everybody I’ve met from Galicia always told me that it’s always raining there. I guess that’s a good strategy too keep away the mass tourism 😅

    One of the most beautiful things you can see in Vigo is the sunset in Samil Beach. The sun sets between the two Cíes islands leaving the sky with a wonderful colour palette... A perfect end for a journey day in Vigo.
    Some other places to visit may be the "Castrelos" park with the "Quiñones de León" pazo (palace). Other interesting thing is the quantity and quality of the mural paintings. All along the city you will find walls of four or five floor buildings with massive paintings all over the wall, from the floor to the roof.

    There’s often confusion about the weather in Vigo. Despite the high rainfall, it has over 2,500 hours of sunshine annually, much more than Hamburg’s 1,500. Vigo’s climate is closer to Porto’s than to Coruña’s, where it rains more frequently even if the total rainfall is similar. In summer, it’s the sunniest and driest coast in Galicia, and after summer, it often experiences pre-drought conditions. It’s not very cold either, with an average temperature of around 17ºC. Data confusion arises because weather records are taken from the colder airport station, which has a different climate from the city. Thank you for the lovely video and keep it up! Greetings from Vigo! :)

    When the sun shines we go to the beach! 29° is hottish in the summer but we have days when the temperature heads into the 30s. The rain tends to be more of a “problem” in the winter but just look at the beautiful green countryside! 😁

    I am from Vigo but currently I have been living in Ponteareas for more than a year I only go to Vigo to visit family, shopping or so, unfortunately the rents went up a lot which made many people go to other cheaper areas. Vigo is beautiful and has everything but nowadays in summer quite a lot of people and not to mention in winter with the Christmas lights it is full of tourism. For my taste, being from the city I prefer a quieter life, apart from the fact that immigration has also risen, especially Latin American immigration. We will see how it grows in the coming years and if it continues to be so quiet to live in or if it is going to become a small Barcelona.Greetings!!!

    Just a few more comments: O Berbés is actually the neighbourhood below the sidewalk terrace where you were walking. The fish market is an amazing spectacle (Hemingway visited and wrote about it), but you need a permission to enter there. Regarding beaches, I agree with you with preferring O Vao compared to Samil, but Samil has amazing views and an absolutely gorgeous sunset. One of the most beautiful beaches in Vigo, if not the most beautiful, is Saiáns beach, the last one of the city going towards the south. It has Cíes islands right in front, superb sunsets and a bar with great views from the terrace.

    The reason why downtown is almost empty with 29 °C is because almost everybody is at the beaches , sunbathing or having some beers at the nice " chiringuitos".
    Btw... might be the 4 th rainiest City in Spain ( I´m not sure about that..), but with one of the most " mild" climates of the Country, and with as many sunny days as some cities of the South, what entails that when it rains, it pours ! ( but not so many rainy days as Hamburg, for sure...). If so, we could not have such nice vineyards around . Thanks.

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah, you’re most likely right about people being on beaches on such a beautiful day. That totally makes sense 💯
      About the rainy days… I always feel confused when I read these kinds of statistics. Because according to that Hamburg for example has less rainy days than Munich which is find very hard to believe. Or cities like Hamburg just feel rainier than others because when it rains it doesn’t stop for the rest of the day and even if it doesn’t rain, chances are still high that it’s grey which also doesn’t feel great.
      Anyways, I felt like Vigo has a much better climate than it’s reputation and I really enjoyed the city! 😍

    Is a city where a great part of the old architecture was destroyed (except the small center u are showing us wich is really beautiful). Later most building were built in a non personality modern style. For me is not a beautiful city in terms of arquitecture from the XIX century and prior 1940 arquitecture. To see nice cities in Galicia where the old parts are bigger: Santiago, Coruña, Lugo... in Asturias: Gijón or Oviedo, in Cantabria: Santander and in The Basque Country Bilbao or San Sebastian. There the part of the city from prior to 1940, the XIX century and before are really beautiful. Well preserved.
    By the way... Galician language is not similar to Portuguese, if u ask them, they will tell yoy that they cannot understand better than speaking spanish.

      That's not true. As a galego speaker I can tell you we understand Portuguese very well, at least the Portuguese spoken in the north of Portugal (Viana do Castelo, Porto...). The writing in Portuguese is a little different with the 'ç' letter, but you can translate in both ways galician/portuguese with very few rules. There are small differences in pronunciation but nothing compared to English, for example.

    • @aventuralina
      @aventuralina  3 месяца назад

      @@GuDeLJiTo that‘s what I thought and understood as well. I do speak Spanish and therefore reading Portuguese is even for me partially possible and I felt the same about Galician. So thanks a lot for the clarification here 😊

    • @brakaponter
      @brakaponter 3 месяца назад

      @@GuDeLJiTo Spanish speakers understand fair well portuguese too. Is similar, instead Galician is almost identical to spanish (portuguese... is not almost identical). U can see anything written in Gallego and is almost as if u read it in Spanish. This fact does not happen with portugese.
      But in reference to that u say "no true", I have been in Galicia several times and three diferent unrelated "gallegos" from the country side, who spoke Gallego as mother tongue told me that I wrote in the first message: we dont understand each other good (portuguese-gallego).
