Go-Go ORIGINATED in DC so it's hard to say someone outside of the DMV could bottle that, take it somewhere else and make it SOUND better than any raw Go-Go sound straight out of DC! I heard ASU's version as well as SCSU's version of this song and its apparent that it's just a SONG to them as opposed to a way of life for those who have experienced it first-hand at Howard.

Various commercial artists such as Amerie, Beyonce, and Wale have major hits that have the go-go sound/feel including this tune Pretty Girls. The melody of this tune was taken from a popular tune by a Go-Go band named the Backyard Band which is also called Pretty Girls. Your exact words were "ASU needs to hold a workshop for these boyz!" It seems that HU should do the clinic in this case.
Howards Showtime Marching Band started doing their rendition of Pretty Girls from Backyard Band not Wale. They have since evolved the original song into what you hear today but it started from Backyard Band not Wale.

Did ASU's drumline stay true to the rhythm? NOPE. ASU as a band is louder, but Howard as a band is closer to the actual feel of the tune and THAT's where the money's at... ESPECIALLY on a Go-Go tune. Bottom line: ASU jams the tune, but there's a LITTLE something missing. Howard's version jams AND grooves like it's supposed to...
