- The Los Angeles Lakers came up short in Game 1 losing to Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets 132-126. LeBron finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists in the loss. Meanwhile, Jokić had his sixth triple-double of the playoffs. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes discuss if they have more or less faith in the Lakers after Game 1 and debate if Jokić can continue his dominance in the series.

Yes, he can. I watch the entire game those players played out of their mind efficiency-wise. Can Joker score 30? yes but will he do it going for 13 shots on 15 attempts again no!!! They had home court played out of their minds efficiency wise not just Joker but the team. Bron going 25-9-9 is normal AD scoring 40 isn't the norm but it isn't a surprise. Making 70%+ of your shots in three quarters isn't going to happen again so which is normal? Denver making 70% + of their shots during three quarters or Bron scoring 25-9-9 and Ad scoring 40. Jokic is the truth and I like the Lakers. His vision and passing ability is an amazing thing to behold. He is really bringing the big man back into the spotlight.

Jokic has brought the big man back but you can't bring a trend back by yourself. The last 4 MVPs are owned by big men after no big men had an MVP since Shaq. I'm counting Giannis here as a big man because he is tall enough and does a majority of his damage in the paint.
Jokic definitely brought the most unique flare to the role with his efficiency and floor generalship.

But they didn’t because the Nuggets can weather that unlike Golden State. Nuggets are the better offensive team and they are better defensively than the Warriors. The problem with Nick is: when he is talking about the Lakers or Chiefs, I know what he is going to say before he says it. Without exception. The Nuggets manhandled the Lakers and eased off the gas....and Nick is more optimistic....as we knew he would be.
They did not ease off, the Lakers put a brick under the gas pedal by removing the small ball lineup which was a gift to Denver...
Nick, stop acting like Denver won't learn from their mistakes in the fourth , like leaving Reaves wide open. If he had missed both threes, Lakers would not get close to 3. If anything, getting that win helped the Nuggets confidence moving forward.

Denver is also a professional basketball team with a professional coaching staff. The Lakers arent gonna be the only team watching film and making adjustments.
I love Nick on this show and he’s become hilarious but the entire playoffs he’s viewed the Lakers playoff series solely through their lense, which has made his takes on them incredibly one sided and Lakers heavy. If everyone else plays the same, but DLo scores 12 points instead of 8, the Lakers win. And, that includes Jokic grabbing another 21 rebounds.
You are sadly mistaken. The Lakers played a small ball lineup most of the game which was a gift to the Nuggets and the reason for. Most of their run, once that was switched the advantage was mitigated...

Nuggets have shown to be the better rebounding team and the better offensive team in the playoffs, Lakers have to pick it up on the boards and find a way to stop Jokic without doubling or the Nuggets will rip them apart with extremely efficient 3 point shooting. Both teams won't keep shooting that well, but the Nuggets have done it all year so they're more likely to sustain it.
Take away his easy assists, let him score 50 if he wants, he did that against the Suns and they lost, just can't have guys like KCP have a career games the whole series lol
