He told the truth. I was 20 yrs old when PW Botha addressed the nation on SABC . It was his going out message and he spoke bad of De Klerk warning white South Africans that the new leader starting the following day is out to destroy their legacy and values for what they built . And true to his word the next day President De Klerk announced the release of Mandela without any conditions and the abolishment of apartheid. It was a shock to us who were used to a system we grew up in . May his soul rest in peace . We forgive the younger years as we also forgiven of our youthful sins for none is perfect. He done what Botha categorically refused to do .

Rest In Peace Mr President. By apologising doesn't in any way make you weak but it makes you a very ethical and admirable human being. You have definitely secured yourself a place in Heaven with Tata Madiba. Condolences to your family and may they find comfort with the fact that many South Africans have them in our prayers.

@@siliusompelege9237 I'm sorry, "white people are a part of us now", I don't know what country you're living in but I sure do hope you can point me to it so I can emigrate there. This isn't about black and white, its about you guys speaking for people who never elected, appointed or brought you to the forefront to do so.
DeKlerk crossed a line you JUST DO NOT CROSS. He, and the rest of his right-wing cohorts sought to use our skin colour as means to our humiliation, dehumanization and annihilation. It's not that I am unable to forgive I am just unable to forgive HIM.
So YES, speak for yourself, don't haul us all in with you. I DO NOT ACCEPT his apology. I will NOT FORGIVE HIM and that's that!!!
