100 a day ain't bad. 100 in one sitting is different. Most I've ever done without a break is 86. But with short breaks I did 101. So much pain. 😅 The ONLY reason I made it through was because my average day (at the time) was doing 70 pushups atleast twice every day. 140 pushups a day still didn't get me to 100 straight through with no breaks. I met a person in the army. He told me his dad was a drill sergeant for Fort Jackson before retiring. When this guy went to the army, he said he was hoping he wouldn't get a drill sergeant who knew his dad. For the first month, he hid under the radar. He got lucky; the drill sergeant didn't recognize his last name. Then one day, the drill noticed how much this guy looked like his dad. He said, "You look like a younger version of my drill instructor." He asked for this guy's last name again. This guy gave it to him. The drill had the biggest shit-eating grin on his face when he put two and two together. This guy said right then he knew he was royally screwed. For the rest of basic, his ass belonged to the drill instructor.

the biggest bitches are the people who think joining the army makes them prove something....they proved they willingly allowed someone to bitch them down in a group. you couldnt do this to the rest of the population. they would simply say no. military ppl...yall gotta say no. and yall also gotta realize you matter. military literally doesnt matter. 98 percent of all military personell never see combat and yall are just getting yelled at and bitched down as tho its some kind of neccessity for war. its not. its backwards and counter productive. you never hear people outside of the military saying these things are practical. only military personel think this....because its only ever their way or the highway with them. this goes for all militaries btw. or atleast 98 percent of em. you want to get big strong and tough? do it on your own accord. you dont need someone to be a poser over you. you relatively dictate your life. its silly when grown men are yelling like they own you. maybe they even fantasize in their sleep as though your some cut of fuck meat. you lose your testicles when your in the military because it may aswell be in someone elses hands.
thats just what they teach you so you dont cut off their heads first. reach for the power thats yours and remove them of the power they no longer deserve...because its yours now
Not true. it's ok to be very proficient. You will get awards and be held at higher regard at your first unit if you arrive with awards. What you don't want to do is be a Mr. Know It All. No matter your age or prior service. I joined when I was 30 and had received such knowledge from my father who was a Drill Instructor in the Marines and served in the Army for a total of 30 years service, as well my other Marine and Navy childhood friends. So when I went to Army OSUT at Ft. Benning to become a Cav Scout, it was a lot easier for me than the younger guys, as I had more discipline and knowledge of what to expect. I always assisted others and showed the Drill Sergeants I excelled at many tasks. I graduated with several Honors/Awards. But I could tell they wanted those awards to be given to the younger guys, as it is a young man's game. But my numbers on paper proved those awards belonged to me. A month before OSUT graduation, I and some others were able to joke around with our Drill Sergeants in a respectful way because we had earned their respect. But in no way did I try to be their friend. We had done the basics upon arriving so well that they knew we understood Soldier basics before arriving. Small things like Parade Rest/Attention without ever looking to the sides when being addressed until an At Ease was called. I shit you not, one of our Drill Sergeants got sick and when he returned we had drew him a cartoon like "Welcome Back" card just to be funny. We snuck into his office and placed it on his desk while he went out to smoke. When he returned and saw it, he asked the RTAs who were put on guard who did it. They of course snitched on me. He came into our bay and made all of us stand on the Ready Line, and was trying to scold us. But he couldn't hide his smile and we knew he probably had tears after he left back out from jokingly smoking us with "FACE CRUNCHES".... That was of course right before we graduated in a week or two. And I don't imagine such a thing ever to happen in the Marines. Our Troop was Males only, so we were more high speed and discipline required than all the other Troops on Harmony Church, yet were still able to break our Drill Sergeants a few times.

Right? My recruiter knew I played guitar. He told me don't ever volunteer for anything. Don't let them know you play an instrument or know how to read music or they'll put you in the matching band. Then you'll have to practice and do your regular drills that everyone else has to to also... so it's like dbl duty on the limited sleep we already get in basic training😂
I'm a Canadian soldier. Our training isn't as aggressive, it's more focused on teamwork, but I had a guy in my group who started out overweight, and within a year looked like an entirely different dude just from how much the routine of exercise helped him.
and that is why the United States Marine Corps is the best. build the individual up and your team work will be better. let me just tell you that's how the army does it if you want to be the best that would be the US Marine Corps build the individual up and that builds the team. you're not selling girl scout cookies. it just goes to show you that's why the United States Marine Corps is the best and I don't think anybody can actually argue that

I know and understand it's not always possible but if you're going to enlist in military it's smart to Swim, run, bike, lift weights gain few extra lbs of fat and every push-up, pullup, jumping jacks, situps and crunches aswell as scissor kicks and walk/jog with backpack loaded with water bag and sand, kitty litter and crawl up and down a football field until it's easy at least 6months. And boot camp will still suck and be hard but it's easier to sharpen a knife then a Stick

That’s what it’s meant for man, the army is always going to test you mentally and physically. No matter how strong you think you are there’s always somebody stronger, and boot camp humbles you because you cannot have an ego when in war.
Honestly, 100 isn’t a lot. I did push-ups every day for a year… Starting with the Sally-Up Challenge. At one point, I did 600+ per day for 30 days. I now take a couple of rest days per week but I’m still working out regularly and push-ups are part of EVERY workout.
There's this new popular mentality amongst potential military candidates where they seek to try to "beat" or "one-up" drill instructors. The military doesn't care how fit or strong or in shape you are. They don't care how good a shot you are or any other "measure of superiority." What the military cares about is can you follow a direct order fast and efficiently, without hesitation, and do so without follow-up questions. If you really want to "beat" boot camp, master these qualities: 1. Don't speak unless spoken to, unless specifically asked to speak. Note that asking you a question isn't specifically asking you to speak. If you are going to speak, your words should be some form of "Yes Sir" or "No Sir!" 2. Obedience over pride. Just do what you're told to as best and as fast as you can. If you try to be better than everyone else, you don't earn a prize - you are punished for leaving your team behind. 3. Integrity over ego. It's not that you can do what your drill instructor can do but better, but that you understand how to follow orders and will allow yourself to be led. Believe it or not, this is one of the hardest things in today's world where everyone is super sensitive and easily offended. Fitness is important for success, but that can be developed during boot camp. What sometimes doesn't get "fixed" is an unwillingness to be led. If you want to beat boot camp, take orders from parents, teachers, friends, police, etc... every day for the 100 days prior to shipping day. Take whatever order or question or task they give and do so with a polite, "Yes sir/ma'am." Now that will really impress your drill instructors.
@@TheMilkmaidFarm Mine was having to hold the M16 (enlisted 1986) straight out in front of you; then raising it up over your head until muscle failure. Push-ups are done for mental clarity while training. If you hurt yourself or someone else and it's a battle situation you push through the mindset until your focus is clear and your mission is complete. You have to work through bullshit and most times it's because of someone else but that doesn't mean your work is done. So keep pushing. I was in the Army and understand that pt training isn't for you to physically get stronger because they overtrain everyday. It is so when things are happening and someone else is having to do more than normal that both of you are working in your areas to get caught up to each other so you can finish strong together. This is how you train past your limits of failure and how to expect a better resolution of tge situation by staying focused no matter what you might be thinking it's not over until you fail and die or completely succeed with your friends in tact. That's why the military isn't for everyone but should be made mandatory for all citizens to take tge basic training course for a stronger more disciplined mind.
So many people don't understand that they don't care how fit you are. It has nothing to do with fitness. They're trying to get to your mind, not your body. Nothing you do physically will be satisfactory. Hide your power level.
Imagine your a recruit roaming around the training camp then Suddenly seeing a running Drill Sargent, Laughing like an evil villain going to the back of a Building 😂🤣
I like how they’re talking about the Army while showing clips of Marine Boot Camp. I’m a small guy but I could bench press twice my weight and was a distance runner. It kinda helped when I was punished for almost 3 hours. I probably could have gone more but my DI got tired.
Here is what I notice here. "Good soldiers follow orders". Although warriors... think for themselves. Therefore they have a will to live. And are disciplined, through self discipline in a sense where they do not tolerate disrespect. And warriors do not bully well. They do however respect life and understand compassion.
Basically: that’s called muscular failure. Anyone that is familiar with gym, or calisthenics is also familiar with doing an exercise until you can’t push no more. I (for example) take 100% of my sets to failure, and that’s no big deal (at least for me)
@@rachinvocat9587 yeah. A couple weeks ago, I was scared of squats to failure. Now I’m doing them bodyweight to failure + a set of myo reps (rest 5 sec and go to failure again). Hey, just wanted to share the hope of the Gospel that all men need, the Bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) this means we all deserve death and separation from a perfect and holy God. But God did not leave us for dead, He sent His only begotten Son to die in yours and my place, so that anyone who believes in Him and repents of sin will be saved from separation from God, and have eternal life! I urge you please put your faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him, He promises to save all who cry out to Him and have a humble heart. We arent guaranteed another day so we must repent of sin and seek Him today while He may be found!

I am 24 years of age my max reps where I usually reach failure is 70-80 and that includes breaks. 400 is too much is superhuman level man. This is really good stuff brother 🎉
I've done pushups for a very long time and still do them every day. I'm 53 now and do about 25,000 per year. Right now I'm skinny AF but have great definition on my triceps, shoulders and pecs. Let's just say pushups also help with other activities with the wife.
I used to do 200 pushups a day literally, like a couple months ago. I noticed my shoulders started to hurt so I quit and started to do 100 push-ups every other day including my other workouts for 3 days so mon, weds, fri. I’ve seen good results in about 4months! I should work out today (Monday) but I have a cold and I’m sick so I’ll just take this week off, I also didn’t work out any day last week because of work so this is going to be 2 weeks since I’ve worked out. It’s good to take 1-2weeks off from working out to give your body plenty of time to heal and repair its self!
This is probably embellished a whole grip. The point of push-ups as a “punishment” is not so much about the punishment as it is about making you physically fit and mentally tough. If we see that you are excelling in one area, such as push-ups, then we are going to focus on other areas that you are not as strong in such as squats, lunges, overhead arm claps, etc. Once you think you are as strong as can be and can’t be pushed to limits the more challenging stuff begins. You can be the strongest person possible, but you can’t hold a pencil between two opposing fingers with outstretched arms while in a squat position with your back against a wall and thighs parallel to the deck for more than 5-6 min. Remember, the military is about readiness and discipline, and it is our job to ensure that you meet both of those requirements. Don't be the guy that challenges the cadre...ever. A strong soldier told me once "You can't smoke a rock" laughing. That soldier considered himself a rock and spent his free time couting his "brothers and sisters" every chance there was.
If you are thinking about joining any branch here are a few suggestions, learn the culture, creeds, mottos, values, and non-tangible skills. You would be surprised how many can do 100 push-ups without issue but can’t remember to never leave their weapon alone. Get fit, physically and mentally. CrossFit, although has it’s downsides, can be a great way to prepare your WHOLE body under the guidance of a TRAINED instructor. Don’t just go to the gym and lift like a monster to get the physique, you will never see a plate or anything like that for 8-16 weeks. Get used to the daily routine, awake at 415-445 lights out at 2145 with “light interruptions” in between. Three “meals” a day under various circumstances. Preparing yourself like this goes just as far as being able to do 100 push-ups at a time. Stay safe out there.
I did prison time.. Cali prison time.. We used to do 1300 pushups a day.. not counting all the other shit we had to do.. in the SHU.. Military exercise aint shit...
It’s breaking them down and then building them up, making them mentally and physically tougher. Besides to be fair, you’re talking about the same people who punishes their soldiers by making them mop up rain when they mess up. 😂
@@windsorboxer For starters, I am well aware of how each of the armed forces operate and their relative fundamental training methodologies. Your reply simply bolstered the point I was making (i.e.) punishment for excelling at something, as opposed to your vernacular of “messing up” to mop up rain and that they train recruits to be “mentally/physically tougher”. My point was that he is already physically fitter than the rest, so why the punishment?

At around 10 am I began running back to the barracks. Some of the troops complained about running over 10 miles andc the Army only wanted runs up to 4 miles, so I relented. We started running 4 miles to the obstacle course. Completed the course and then ran 4 miles back. They complained but they thanked me when we deployed to Somalia
Too funny. I went to boot camp in amazing shape. They couldn't really phase me physically. That's when I learned the physical demands are the least of it. It's the stress and mental difficulty that hits you. You can't prepare for that. Civilians have no clue about that. I'm talking about USMC boot camp, not basic. I saw basic training and that was different, more low key.
This is what is wrong with our military . Instead of trying to break the soldier , Drill sergeant should give some credit and say this man does good push ups . A little encouragement goes further than discipline sometimes....😎

Being physically fit is a great idea before boot camp but don’t think you’re gonna be prepared cause no matter how strong you are, how far you can run or how long you can go without sleep they will push every single one of those boundaries and then tell you to do ten more😂
Boy hearing "HALF RIGHT FACE!!!" Bruh I bullshit you not. I went to sleep on my first week in basic and I had dreams of that shit. I couldn't escape in my dreams 😂😂😂😂
I did a shitload of calisthenics before going to boot camp. Pretty much everything you could think of. But I only regret doing calf raises. I could barely walk without pain for the first 2-3 days. If you can handle lots of intense exercise, don't make a big deal about it. I had to tell a few other recruits to shut the hell up because although I can handle the exercise, I don't want to do it because of you, and you can't handle it. Had two guys who wanted to become Navy SEALs in my division. Since everyone knows how tough BUD/s is, they thought it would be smart to do dumb stuff on purpose so they could get more exercise and be more prepared for it. The division Commanders quickly saw thru this and gave them very mundane yet mentally stressful punishments since they could handle any physical work they got. One of them became a SEAL but was wounded by an IED that killed part of his squad. Today he runs a program that helps other wounded veterans. I'm not sure what happened to the other guy.

Word of advice I’ve heard from people is NEVER stand out at boot 😂

Never let them know youvare capable......ever.......about anything.......always make it look like you are struggling no matter how easy the task
thats just what they teach you so you dont cut off their heads first. reach for the power thats yours and remove them of the power they no longer deserve...because its yours now
Not true. it's ok to be very proficient.
This statement explains everything about my retired Marine coworker

There's dark humor... Then there's military reality humor...
If you really want to "beat" boot camp, master these qualities:
1. Don't speak unless spoken to, unless specifically asked to speak. Note that asking you a question isn't specifically asking you to speak. If you are going to speak, your words should be some form of "Yes Sir" or "No Sir!"
Basic was simple, but hard af 1993 Ft Jackson. I agree completely with your assessment.

So it helped him but he didnt knew when to shtfü
So many people don't understand that they don't care how fit you are. It has nothing to do with fitness. They're trying to get to your mind, not your body. Nothing you do physically will be satisfactory. Hide your power level.

No it’s not. At most you should only take 2 days off, anything more is gonna make your muscles even weaker
@@SafwaanMohammad48 not if you take protein other than that, yes you will loose muscle without protein!
@rangerbird270 yeah true
First set of pushups is the “$5 is $5 special”

@@windsorboxer For starters, I am well aware of how each of the armed forces operate and their relative fundamental training methodologies. Your reply simply bolstered the point I was making (i.e.) punishment for excelling at something, as opposed to your vernacular of “messing up” to mop up rain and that they train recruits to be “mentally/physically tougher”. My point was that he is already physically fitter than the rest, so why the punishment?
