Super circuit has a ton of unintentional shortcuts. When you use a mushroom on a ramp you can get a lot of height and distance and skip large parts of many tracks. Also, for some reason there is a mechanic where if you mushroom boost and hop onto water then you "skip" on the water once. This lets you skip parts of tracks with water and it even lets you jump over walls. I wish more people knew about how incredibly broken super circuit is.
Wii’s grumble volcano can be completed in 13 seconds with tas and less than 1.5 seconds for flap, just probably worth mentioning since sub 15 seconds is definitely something found in mkw.

Mario kart double dash has multiple shortcuts much faster than the one he presented. Including a better bowsers castle shortcut that results in a 4 second lap
There are much better skips than the one you presented for double dash. Mushroom bridge has a 4 second lap, so does bowsers castle. Mushroom city has a substantial shortcut as well.
I was gonna say the same thing. I thought of Summoning Salt's video on Double Dash's shortcuts when I saw the BC shortcut. I think a similar thing can be done on BC in time trials with an a-tech hop and a lak-hop, completing the race under a minute without actually driving most of the course. Although the Mushroom Bridge shortcut is also huge.
Fun fact, the Mushroom Gorge glitch (at least in my experience) is made radically easier by using the Quacker and the Wii wheel. Higher turning radius with the Wii wheel and lightweight vehicles get more air, you can stick to that wall and move along it to complete Gorge in well under a minute with practice. The Grumble Volcano glitch is also made very easy with the Bit Bike. It's obviously not a practical vehicle competitively, but it has one of, if not the highes handling stat in the game. Normally handling doesn't matter at all, but since you don't really drift on that rock, that handling stat makes driving around that rock a cakewalk. Automatic drift is also sometimes used for that glitch as well, although it can make it a bit harder if you don't get it down to muscle memory.
The wii wheel does not have more turning, it just doesn’t have a diagonal input restriction like the other controllers. Also quacker is used there not for weight but because the higher handling and rounder hitbox make turning easier. Additionally, quacker is better than bit bike on gv glitch.
In Mario Kart DS, there are three Rainbow Road glitch shortcuts, one recently discovered in 2014 by MKDasher which transformed the track completely. Mario Circuit also got one that same year which is performed at the end of the lap. Wario Stadium has had a lakitu respawn shortcut for the past 14 years... and Sky Garden apparently doesn't exist according to the video. Then there's tons of other nifty jumps and cuts that anyone would consider 'shortcuts' in a Mario Kart game. Please do the right research next time.
That shortcut where you boosted off into the water on Wuhu Loop was the greatest thing ever during my childhood. I'm pretty sure I held the world record at some point, but I don't remember how the times were recorded then so maybe not.
0:20 Correction, if you watch mkdashers new rainbowroad wr there is quite a big skip early in the level even if its not an ultrashortcut, its definietly not an intended one either I dont think.
The music at first brought back so many memories-the older brother beating my ass at this game, turning off my controller, me being happy at getting 11th place instead of 12th, me flexing with all my friends, and that one time my friend had her controller upside down and we thought it was broken. So many Memories from just a few notes.
Just to add there was two jump over the wall shortcuts on Wario Stadium in Mario 64. The 2nd one was a bit harder, but you could pull it off quite easily after some practice.
Very true, jump the first wall then turn around and jump in to the corner of the wall you first jumped where the finish line is and hit it perfectly for a 7-9 second lap. My favourite track out of all the mariokart games
MKWii still remains my favorite game in the series by far due to the short cutting. Most of the cuts scale pretty decently in regard to difficulty vs time saved, so it rewards higher skilled players and ones that are willing to take risks. Sure theres games with more major shortcuts, but most of the ones in MKWii are at least accessible enough that its feasible to attempt them regularly when racing online.
Funky kong on mario kart wii brings back to many memories, this was the game I wanted so bad and when I got it I played it for years and had done every one of the ultra shortcuts
you completely disregarded the Wario Stadium shortcut in MKDS, and didn’t mention any time trial shortcut in MKDD, and also disregarded that you can get .01 laps in MK64. MK64 also has many more large shortcuts/skips the average player isn’t aware of, and probably should have been mentioned.
@@Wings_Of_Nightfall No research was done for mkds... someone had a vague memory of a mushroom bridge shortcut from their childhood, slapped it on the vid, and said "good enough". yes, I understand that nintendo unity is "not a god at gaming and probably doesn't know these things" but if they decided to make a video on it, it should be properly researched. this is like a news channel reporting current covid numbers based on something they overheard from a friend while shopping 3 months ago.
you have to admit, the MKW ultra shortcuts look the coolest. you have driving around a parking lot, going around a rock, and a new one was just discovered where you jump from rainbow to rainbow. YOU CAN EVEN JUMP OVER LAKES IN THAT GAME
The way some of these need mushrooms or such to perform make them very impractical to pull off in races for obvious reasons. But I do admit it would be entertaining to witness.
The mkw ones are banned online. However, there are other less overpowered but equally cool shortcuts that are allowed online. They can take a good bit of skill though.
Then this means I still stand by what I say. Mario Kart DS is the best Mario Kart game and the fact that there are fewer unintended shortcuts actually proves how much more well-designed the game is.
You could've shown a bit more of mario kart 7 than a few respawn shortcuts. Maple treeway if done on all 3 laps saves well above 20 seconds, the TAS on daisy cruiser also completely breaks the track
Nice video. I remember that in Mario Kart 64 there is a glitch or shortcut in the Jungle map using the coconut's to skip laps, the same with the farm map there is a mole hole that skip you the lap and remember ther is other in the Princess castle map that let you cross the mountain to skip the lap.
Great video Don't know if someone already mentioned it but in Wario Stadium on Mario Kart 64 - pretty much where you were facing when the clip ends there is a sharp angle in the wall that you can boost and jump into, which will launch you over it. It's a lot harder than the first jump though. I managed to get a 30 second-ish track completion on that when I was a kid after dozens of tries.
In double dash there are also insane glitches that you can do with chain chomps. lol I think it got discovered recently or multiple new glitches for double dash did

Some of these are a little outdated: there's even more now and they're even cooler
How many came out between the 9 hours of the video releasing and u commenting?
@@balloony9497 probably none but they could've already been outdated when it was posted...
Mario kart double dash has multiple shortcuts much faster than the one he presented. Including a better bowsers castle shortcut that results in a 4 second lap
@@rubixtheslime ok, I mis understood you at first. Thank you for the clarification!
@@Notnotcam OUR MKDD HERO TYYYYYY
I know how crazy Super Circuit is but I didn't think it'd have the biggest shortcut and Cheese Land would be THAT course with that biggest shortcut.
9:03 WTF just happend?!
super circuit's high on crack

"Mario Kart DS doesn't have unintended shortcuts"
Loop Skip: "Am I nothing to you?"
Please do the right research next time.
absolutely agreed, so many shortcuts were missed in this video
The N64 Wario stage, you can jump over the wall again, right behind the finish line for a full lap.
You know what the slow dancer, Johnny said. The long path is the best shortcut.
I thought the Ribbon Road shortcut would've been in here, but that Yoshi Desert shortcut was wild!
That's not true for Mario Cart Ds, in the very least there are a couple of skips on rainbow road
Great Video dud! I really enjoyed it ... next Summoning Salt 😏
Me who knows nothing about MarioKart and just plays it with friends: *interesting*
This was fun, I've played most of these and wasn't aware about these shortcuts.
I remember well that in mario kart ds we can do some big glitches to end a turn quickly. You're wrong with it
Yeah
These are all great, but the real best mk shortcut is the friends we made along the way.
0:49 This brings back so many memories I remember when everyone would do this shortcut in online races lol.
Did you get super confused when everyone starts falling in one spot?
That track has a world record under a minute, how on earth did mk7’s daisy cruiser slip through the cracks?!
dude made like no research at all, it looks like they only showed the shortcuts they were able to perform lol
@@Hugomk true like, mk7 has other glitches like maple treeway, or donkey kong's mountain etc
Funky kong on mario kart wii brings back to many memories, this was the game I wanted so bad and when I got it I played it for years and had done every one of the ultra shortcuts
6:33
The jump that seperated the men from the boys.
In the words of a man named Scott:
During the MKW portion of the video: "Look at Funky Kong, his elbows could open cans!"
you completely disregarded the Wario Stadium shortcut in MKDS, and didn’t mention any time trial shortcut in MKDD, and also disregarded that you can get .01 laps in MK64. MK64 also has many more large shortcuts/skips the average player isn’t aware of, and probably should have been mentioned.
Dude, this guy isn't a god at gaming and he probably didn't know about the things you said. Chill out already.
@@BrodyMK64 It's alright, and sorry if my wording came off as a little harsh.
YOU CAN EVEN JUMP OVER LAKES IN THAT GAME
how bout peach gardens tas
I feel like mk7 deserves more respect for being on par with mk64 on the broken scale
Love your video's dude, this is also very helpful for Mariokart players, thanks!
6:31 imagine you were playing mk 64 online and you saw someone do this:
For anyone wondering, the intermission music used before the gameplay clips is the menu music from Mario Kart Wii.
These would be more fun to watch in races than time trials
The way some of these need mushrooms or such to perform make them very impractical to pull off in races for obvious reasons. But I do admit it would be entertaining to witness.
@@yveshku5583 I absolutely agree with what you described :)
The mkw ones are banned online. However, there are other less overpowered but equally cool shortcuts that are allowed online. They can take a good bit of skill though.
@@SLURPASAUR5237 Those would be fun to watch
@@FATE522 here's the basic ones: ruclips.net/video/V_NCWBARBrk/видео.html
Honestly double dash is and forever will be the peak of Mario kart.
Agreed
Then this means I still stand by what I say. Mario Kart DS is the best Mario Kart game and the fact that there are fewer unintended shortcuts actually proves how much more well-designed the game is.
Yet there is still snaking. Probably the biggest oversight in the series
If you told me Funky Kong was a secret member of the Freaky Monkey Five I wouldn't doubt you.
You could've shown a bit more of mario kart 7 than a few respawn shortcuts. Maple treeway if done on all 3 laps saves well above 20 seconds, the TAS on daisy cruiser also completely breaks the track
Mario Kart DS has some pretty OP cuts in Sky Garden. And I remember Rainbow Road having some crazy ones as well
My first reaction when i saw super mario kart wa “how bad is super circuit?”
These types pf videos are pretty cool ngl
I didn't even unlock funky xd
Im yeah and im back super funky
Mario kart 64 had so many glitch we discovered as child without even having internet its crazy xD
Remember that all this shortcuts a human found out and there are maybe even more
Nice video. I remember that in Mario Kart 64 there is a glitch or shortcut in the Jungle map using the coconut's to skip laps, the same with the farm map there is a mole hole that skip you the lap and remember ther is other in the Princess castle map that let you cross the mountain to skip the lap.
I guess you can say that last one was the ultimate cheese strat...
I'll see myself out...
I love this channel so much
The ultra shortcut in rainbow road mkwii was finally completed on 150 CC this year. Hype moment in gaming
This video made me realise how good and iconic the soundtrack is
Great video
Don't know if someone already mentioned it but in Wario Stadium on Mario Kart 64 - pretty much where you were facing when the clip ends there is a sharp angle in the wall that you can boost and jump into, which will launch you over it. It's a lot harder than the first jump though. I managed to get a 30 second-ish track completion on that when I was a kid after dozens of tries.
Cstrakm's TAS had two laps in 0.06 seconds. In choco island 1 at about 6:10 into his TAS.
In double dash there are also insane glitches that you can do with chain chomps. lol I think it got discovered recently or multiple new glitches for double dash did
I’m upset that no one talks about the mkdd scs when mkwii’s scs everyone knows about.
Perfect video editing love it
As someone who’s first mario cart game is mario cart wii, I can confirm I use these shortcuts
