"Requirements gathering is a crucial step for any project's success. It's essential to listen carefully to understand stakeholders' needs while gathering requirements, avoiding repetitive questioning. When gathering requirements, ask open-ended questions instead of close-ended ones, ensuring they make sense.
Another vital point is to focus on the present and next step, without jumping ahead to later steps. For example, when discussing a login feature, ask questions like: "What type of Login ID is required? Is it numeric or alphanumeric?"
As a Business Analyst, it's important to avoid making assumptions and not to impose your own requirements. Your role is to facilitate stakeholders, business owners, and SMEs to share their knowledge, speaking as little as possible yourself. This ensures that their needs are accurately captured and met."
