- Do you find it hard to understand native speakers? Can you understand slow English, but get lost when people speak quickly? It might be because you don't understand the little words which are often reduced. Reductions are a very common part of spoken English. In this video I explain some of the most common English reductions.

Hi Max. Good tips, tanks.
Hi Max! Very interesting video! Many times I asked myself if I was hearing wrong some of these words, now I know they sound different when they are pronounced fast. Thank you so much for your help!
I can imagine it can be quite confusing. And like I said, we native speakers normally don't realise we do it!
Good tips Max.

Very helpful information, since most of the time as you mention, native speakers don't even notice that they reducing sounds and sometimes it is not so clear to understand that mix of fast and reduced groups of letters!
Thanks, Alfonso! (I admit that even when I first started teaching English I wasn't aware of this. 😉We're always learning!)
Thank you Max, as good as always)
Thank you!
Hi, Max. How are you?. I finally know why I can't understand people when they speak fast. I'll try to train my listening even more. By the way, I appreciate your video as always and look forward to the next one. Saludos!
Thanks, Carlos :).
Yes, there are many other words that I didn't mention that we also reduce. I'll try to do another video on them sometime soon :).

Hi Max I am a big fan of yours.
Hey, Max! Where are you? I have lost you since last year. Your videos are amazing I love them. Hope the next video will be soon
Hi! Thanks for your message! I've been a bit busy lately, but hopefully there will be a new video next week.
👍
I'd like a video about reductions made in the middle of sentences, with words like: remember, little, already, probably, etc.
Unfortunately there aren't really any rules regarding those words, and there are lots of people who don't reduce them. For example, some people pronounce "probably" as "prolly" sometimes, but plenty of people don't do it. So it's good if you can understand when people are reducing these words, but you don't need to do it when you speak. :)
I mean, it would be so interesting.
Welcome max
it's great
good video
help me a lot
thank you
greetings to frank and george
Thank you again!
💚💚💚
Hi Max. It's an excellent video. Have a nice day bye
Thank you, Francisco! Same to you!
hi happy to see you
I'm happy to be here :).
And I think you could do a video ‘bout (reduction?) the usage and subtleties of the word “just”, it would so interesting. Thanks.
Great suggestion! I can't promise anything, but I'll definitely add it to my list :).
(We don't usually reduce "about" except in some common phrases like "how (a)bout X" 😉.)
I thank you so much, Max.
Please make more vidoes like this
I can't make any promises, but I'll do my best!
You are lovely Max.
So I see that Frank and George are really happy...
They're always happy :). (Well, most of the time 😉.)

Hello mam....really you look like Ronda Rousy..and i love her very much...as well as you.thank you.love you a lot .from Bangladesh.
Thank you again. :)
Great, Hi from Egypt , what is the expression ,( give you the benefit of the dout )mean.
It means no one should be considered guilty without a full proof. For example, suppose you suspect a guy committed a crime, but you aren't quite sure. There is a doubt that he indeed committed the crime. Hence, you don't accuse him, you don't.press charges against him, because there isn't a full evidence that he is a criminal. In other words, you gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Yes, Artur gave a very good explanation :).
Another example is if you think someone might be lying to you, but you decide to assume they're telling the truth. You could say: I realised John might have been lying, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
@@EnglishwithMax got it thanks.
How do we pronunciate Buich?

Ciao so che sei australiana ma capisci anche un po' l'italiano, ti vorrei chiedere una cosa, com'è l'Australia come paese per un viaggio?? Ho questo sogno di fare un viaggio in questo paese che mi sembra bellissimo!!! Spero di venire prima o poi! Grazie se mi risponderai♥️
Hi! I hope you don't mind me replying in English. I understand your question, but it's hard for me to write in Italian. :)
Australia has a big tourism industry, so yes, there are lots of things to do! But unlike Europe, people don't come here for museums and architecture. ;) People mainly come to see beaches and different types of landscapes. You should also be aware that it's quite expensive if you're coming with euros (although obviously that also depends on the current exchange rate).
Spero che questo ti aiuti un po '!
@@EnglishwithMax thanks max♥️
Amazing.very effective. r u safe?
Yes, I am, thanks. :)
Can I reduce can't to 'kªn'? T is silent.
Yes - lots of people don't pronounce the T.
Your conversation whic are USA English or Biritish English?
They're used in both British and American English. Some are a bit different, and those are the ones that I pointed out (when I said: In American English, it's like this...").
Where are you from?
Australia :)
Thank you for your efforts.
Haahhhhh you made me laugh when you said my name is Max. You don't have say that you are famous as the sun .waht the meaning of naughty? Is it used for swaring.
Haha, I'm far from famous!
"Naughty" means behaving badly. It's often used for children. 😉
I can't watch the movie, when Frank looks at me ;)
Haha, did Frank look at the camera in this video?
I heard that you can quickly learn to understand and speak English, if you watch five films in English at once. But I usually fall asleep in the middle of the first movie... 🙄
Haha :).
Do you mean five films in a row (consecutively)?
@@EnglishwithMax Yes. My friend said that this is how he studied English. After the fifth film, the brain ceases to resist and begins to understand everything. But my brain says: I go to sleep, bye! 🙄
I suppose it's another form of "total immersion". 😃
