Yak-i-mah -- Yak like the animal
YACK-eh-mah
This is the best phonetic spelling here.
Last weekend I was on a brewery visit and on all their bottle it says (freely translated) "This beer may spark conversation and cause tolerance. And a little bit of dancing". I think is a fun and nice thing to have on a bottle of beer. 🙂
My family is from Eastern Washington. Drive through Yakima all the time.
Verb heavy prose comprised a consistent tenet of my English degree.
I visited the distillery on Sunday June 9 and had a tasting with my nephew who had never tried Crowded Barrell, had a good time with Gabe and the team. Thanks and sorry I missed you Daniel and Rex
Yak-im-a. Like the hairy, smelly animal. Trit-i-kay-lee. From The Trouble With Tribbles from the original Star Trek. Quadro-triticale. Love the format, stories, and info. Thanks, Daniel.
Those labels *are* gorgeous.
Awesome to see their products here. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from them, especially the Brandy. FYI it’s not pronounced Yakima nor Yakima but Yakima. Cheers!
Yack-eh-mah
These are consistently engaging reviews. The mixture of reliably honest candor and massive insight into the whole business is exceptional.
The Brandy is Awesome!
Love the almond-y note on the triticale, I've found that "almond butter" is probably the most common note I get from that grain. Looking forward to it, I ordered some a week or so ago :)
My budget Cigar back in the day, used to be the Arturo Fuentes maduro factory seconds for 2.00, They were fantastic!
Neat to see the water giving a positive effect on this set of whiskies. Definitely not always the case from the other reviews I've seen on your channel. Thanks for showing these to us, I'll be on the lookout!
Never even heard of triticale before to be honest. I always enjoy learning something new, thanks!
As a washington resident, I love seeing more reviews of washington whiskeys. I havent tried this brand yet but plan to try it out. 🥃
Thanks for the video 🥃
Love me some brandy. Cognac mainly.
That's cool. I do like the distilleries that are doing cool things. This is interesting.
Side note: If pronunciation is the only thing, you're doing great. Remember when they were asking why you weren't talking about the whiskey 😆
About that pronunciation, it's YAK-i-ma. Emphasis on Yak. But that's only if it matters. Have a great weekend my friend 🥃
I love how early in the video you bring up how you don't really care about pronunciation and then proceed to guess how to say Yakima and get it horribly wrong, twice. I'm a transplant to Washington, so I get it. Honestly you did better than google maps does.
Nice video. Never heard of them but will definitely look to purchase some. Love the labels and the way they don't hide anything.
For the city in Washington is it's Yakima (yak-i-ma)
3/5 stars wouldn't change a thing
Man, I love your intro
You forgot to say comment. Oh, it worked!
I laughed a little when you explained what triticale is, only because I looked it up about a minute before the video got to that part. Also, one of the reasons I clicked this specific video was because it feels like you had just said you aren’t a rye person
Hey Daniel, as your resident Westland fanatic from Seattle, it's YAK-A-MA. Or as us locales like to say: Yak-a-vegas...
I know this is a whisk(e)y channel, but I would love to hear your thoughts on other distillates too! I mean, you got a free bottle of brandy, what do you think of it? What are your feelings on these other genres, (?), in comparison to whiskey? I've always been a whiskey girl, but I'm open to trying something new.
YAK i ma
I’ve always heard Yah’-keh- maw
😁🙌🏻🥃
Huh!
They are just down the street from me.
Yakima, the best hops, cherries and apples come from here.
Your welcome.
“The Palm Springs of Washington” 😂😂
I did a BUTT LOAD of training in Washington in Yakima... I was told the pronunciation is Yak-a-ma. Have no clue if that is correct.. .BUT, there ya go... From a dumb Army tanker.. LOL
Gee! What shall I do?! They have sent me more than one or two bottles of whiskey, guess I’ll have to drink it…🤷🏼♂️😬 Was their marketing writing Frank or Monet? Sorry, I should’ve paid more attention in class. 😁
Ok, so this has nothing to do with the actual video content, but!...... I had to pause at time-mark 2:43 to use the bathroom. Not really paying attention to much. But when I came back, the look on his face....... Kinda evil genius, Bond villain vibes! 😂
I believe Yakima is pronounced "Shi-Cah-Go"
Interesting… is it regional or widely available?
Wjat a good Cognac or Brandy for a beginner?
I find these reviews more enjoyable since Daniel went solo.
Welcome to Mr. Whittington's Hidden Drams Neighbor!
7:29 why does Daniel keep his water in a Zima bottle from 1995? 😏
It totally looks like it :) it's actually an old bottle of Speyside water someone donated ages ago
It’s pronounced trit A cal
Yak like the animal- I as in it- and ma like your Mama
Not the same without Rex. =/
1st
Yak-a-ma. I have never heard anyone really pronounce the "i".
