i just got a ikea flintan chair and it was making dry wood cracking noise. these new ones have this thin plastic to close off the mechanic parts but it also added friction between the chair cushion and the metal frame. following your video i added tons of vaseline and it solved the problem! thanks a bunch!
Whenever you're looking into buying a new chair I'd recommend a used Haworth Improv HE. I got one for 8 bucks at a thrift store. It's the only premium chair I've owned and I love it. Night and day from my old $60-$100 office Depot chair.
Maybe try white lithium grease (in a spray can). Be careful of overspray though, it may stain dark furniture(?). I've always used it for garage roller door lubrication, or car roof folding mechanisms. It lasts well.
I didn't have to do all that open it apart I sprayed under it between the brackets and it went away. I didn't have use my power screw driver or nothing.
Thank you so much for your video. I have a question. I got my Markus 2 days ago, I am really satisfied with its built and everything, but it has some weird kind of "problem", the chair is wobbling, I mean I can not tell that it is wobbling too much, but I can feel it from time to time, so to say while I was trying to reach out for something on the desk etc. It happens when i tend to not to give put my weight into chair. Glad that it doesnt bend to one side, I don't have this problem, but I have this slightly wobbleness. I've uploaded a video of it. Can you tell if it's a problem or not? It's my first office chair to be honest. P.S. I've checked the screws, I screw them to a point where I can not do anything no more. Feels like you're the only person that can help because you actually understand what's happening with mechanism and plate of it + on the internet theres not too much about wobbling etc. I'll be waiting for your replies, thanks in advance
@@Иммерсиявчистомвиде I'm not sure, didn't notice something unusual but I don't think yours has any loose screws. You could try another chair and see if it feels good.
@@IONHowTo Thank you for your comments, you are really amazing! when i sit its not something like i have to keep in balance in order to sit normally, when i sit i really dont feel any weird thing but lets say i want to reach something on the desk or just bend down to left or right, i feel it, its really hard to decide now as i dont have any ikea in town, have u seen the vid? YT somehow deletes every comment that i talk about my vid

Many thanks! My chair was driving me nuts! I followed your instructions and the problem is fixed!!!
locking compound will hold handle screws for much longer, than couple of weeks with simple tightening
Another chair fixed... thanks a lot, very clear instruction video!
Perfect! Thanks for watching!
I have the same Markus Model and damn its squeaky thank you bro
I also had problems with my arm rests, used Loctite on the screws now they are still fixed firmly after a whole year
Many thanks for taking the time to upload this, fixed my creaking issue 👍

WD40 is primarily a degreaser with some lubricant. Good choice to use vaseline to lubricate then
your video solved my problem. thanks a bunch man!
Vaseline is a great lubricant though I have not seen it in a spray. People often use WD40 but that’s no good because it dries out.
Yeah waa thinking wd40 at first but also the smell of it doesn't go away too soon.
This needs grease and in a spray it's easier.
@@IONHowTo Yes it does smell 🤥

What is another option for Vaseline Spray, which I don't believe is available in the US?
Any grease lubricant works and its much easier if it's a spray to apply it faster and in hard to reach spots.
