The new patient consultation is, perhaps the universal clinical skill in medicine. All doctors, need to be able to perform a straightforward consultation with regard to a new presentation
A surprise in the common new patient presentation, is a lady presenting with a positive pregnancy test, what is very usual, that early pregnancy is cared for by the midwife team, it’s incredibly common for patients to speak to the GP as their first port of call.
In this video, we set out the framework for how to organise a consultation for newly pregnant patient
As with all Clinical skills, it is important to follow the performer has provided by your university teaching establishment, I was, there may be regional variations and in order to get maximum OSCE marks you must adhere to your institution's instructions

Well, the patient we had before became a Doctor to help people and be a rockstar to our society so the role had to be filled lmao Patient Abbie was so amazing that Doctor Gill brought two patients this time: Beth and Baby Gill!

My wife just had a baby here in the United States and he was jaundiced a couple days after. He quickly recovered after blue light treatment and formula milk but it’s still terrifying! I know you’re both doctors and probably already well aware of the condition but don’t be scared if it happens!
