For those who do not know- glow sticks are short lived and useless plastic once used. I use them, I don't" depend" on them. I have oil lamps.
I use USB rechargeable sources. If there is a power outage, I have a small battery bank that can recharge them many times and jump-start my car. There are also many rechargeable solar lights. I just prefer to spend money on multiple use items.
At home, I also have oil lamps and candles.
Solar hand crank lanterns or lights also good.

very good ideas here. I never thought about glow sticks. I like that you hit on cleaning supplies. We were heavily affected by Hurricane Michael in 2018. I went through a LOT of cleaning supplies and paper plates. We were without power for 2 weeks. Some in our area were without for 3 weeks. Antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, baby wipes were in high demand, and we are a small area. Can't imagine how bad it was in some of the more populated areas.
I know when storms hit, I live in Maine, and if you aren't ready you go without. Better to be prepared with a few things. It's scary enough when power goes out and you have no candles and water.
Bleach
Aspirin, vitamins, ointment, Kleenex, matches, soap, toothpaste...hygene and health items are important to survival.

I do not see where they have any other channels reference. Looks like they just kinda snagged or stole sections from people.
i have taken $12 bucks and bought at the tree a good supply of preping stuff. sometimes they have something that comes in and if you do not get it then they no longer have it. example: bought a trauma kit with a tourniquet, large bandages, 4 inch wide roll gauze, surgical tape, scissors, alcohol wipes, a few small gauze pads all for a one buck i bought it 3 years ago, watched them put it out bought 3 (should have gotten more) but thought they would have more in later...nope, one shot deal. now the tourn, isn't high grade, but will work in a pinch, the scissors are 3 inchs long but you can use them but the material stuff is good and will work. so shop the tree you do save money and some of the stuff is good.
Does a bungie cord work as a tourniquet?

Dollar Tree is adding items that are part of the Family Dollar ( a sister store,) hence higher prices in some Dollar Trees across the country.

People like to attack Dollar Tree, some items are quite a bit more but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY THEM. That is how they can keep some prices for essential foods and items lower than most stores, even Walmart. Not to mention fancier stores, like our pricy grocery store, which charges a lot more for some of the food items. Some complain they want to make more money, so does every one. Yet the go to Walmart, which is own by the BILLIONAIRE "children" of the man who started Walmart, so people could aford to buy food that was cheaper (as in the equivalent of DT then.)

$Tree isn't ALWAYS a "deal"! If you're buying multiples, sometimes it's more cost effective (CHEAPER) to look elsewhere for similar items that may be packaged in multiples! Their products & prices have gotten... RIDICULOUS! The plastic items have gotten thinner, not sturdy enough! The Hallmark cards are THE BEST BARGAIN!!! I send approx 60 cards EACH Holiday so paying full-price for cards... 😱! Thank you for sharing but remember, $Tree not always a BARGAIN! 🩷✌️

It might be confusing for someone who is not familiar with epsom salts. It is NOT a replacement for table salt, and does not belong in a salt shaker. Those clips are very misleading. Who edited this and put those clips in????

They are a one time use item, it is a chemical reaction that lasts for anywhere from 30 minutes to 12hours depending on the quality of glow stick@@fiftyshadesofpam9470
@fiftyshadesofpam9470 No, they have a liquid in them that is activated by snapping a capsule inside and shaking them. They don't last more than a few hours and are then useless.

Their higher prices are also because of more costly transportation, more expensive plastic for manufacturing lots of items, more expensive electricity for their stores, higher minimum wage in some states, etc. Government-caused inflation has caused problems for individuals, families, AND stores & restaurants!!

Because it's cheap, affordable, and handy sizes. If you can find an American company that sells at $1.25, then go for it, but I don't think that there are any.
I would have to say that my prep supplies are probably 89% American made products but there are a few items that I could not get that were made in the United States.
Most all stores get products from China, Vietnam, or Taiwan!
