They did an amazing job with the 2.0. Makes me comfortable carrying .380 when I know I can shoot it well and enjoy training with it. Can’t say that for my LCPs
Definitely going to trade my LCP Max in for a bodyguard 2.0. I’ve never shot a bodyguard 2.0, but there’s no way it can be worse than shooting the Max.
I sold my Max a year ago and went back to my Glock 42 for summer pocket carry because the Max was so unpleasant to shoot. The BG2.0 is amazing, in my hand’s opinion. Groups well at 10 yards, and between the low bore height and high trigger undercut it’s very fast. My only gripes are minor. The sights are a little too open for my liking, and the front sight could be a little brighter. It definitely needs about 100 rounds to break in. I suddenly have a 12 to 16 weeks lead time to make holsters, and they’re almost exclusively pocket holsters for the BG2.0.
Thanks SPN. Any BG 2.0 malfunctions? Other owners say the feed ramps need polished and mag follower needs modified. Also, can your finger fit in the guard with a glove? Cheers
With all those guns, you have a wealth of gun knowledge. I would be taking them all apart and learning precisely how each and every single one of them works. I probably know how most of them work, because I've worked on most of the popular and older models, but there are a few I've never worked on or got to "inspect" myself. I'd like to see the Bodyguard 2.0 and the R7 Mako. I'd bet the BG 2.0 works a lot like the original BG 380... but I have no clue how the R7 Mako works. I think it has a rotating breech to lock and unlock the action, but I've never seen it work in detail. IN learning precisely how they all work too, you'll be learning how to diagnose them if there are ever any problems and in many cases how to fix them. It will also help you always know that your guns are in safe, working condition. I've seen cases where people didn't know enough about their guns functionality and that ended up causing them serious problems. I think that's especially true when people buy used firearms.
I have a LCP Max and went to the range with it and rented a Bodyguard 2.0. Shot both and the difference is night and day. The 2.0 shot much flatter than the snappy LCP Max. The grip on the 2.0 is fantastic too. The wife loved it too with the exception of how hard it was for her to rack the slide. I will be buying one, or two, very soon.
Underwood Extreme Defenders. 68grn/1300fps... per the box, less from such a short barrel but yep... they make .380 a very good pocket carry self defense option.
It is an awesome pistol. I am very impressed by the very well thought out ergonomics, the texture is perfe ct , the slide serrations are perfect. The serrations are cut up to the edge of the top of the slide which further increases dexterity. It shoots like a dream. I had zero malfunctions so far. The fitment of the gun is outstanding.
Defiantly a great back-up option or deep concealer for not only law enforcement but citizens as well from one of the most trusted name in the firearms industry. .380acp is definitely underrated. Look at gel ballistics. It does preform with the right ammo.
That was a really cool comparison with a lot of guns. I held one the other day and it is tiny. You can't go wrong with any S&W, their customer service and warranty is the best. FYI, love your Shields.
I love my SW Bodyguard 2.0! I'm allowed to conceal carry at work, but I also must dress business casual. With my shirt tucked into my slacks, I can easily slip my Bodyguard 2.0 in my front pants pocket, and nobody's the wiser. (I bought a Sticky Holster for pocket carry) It is the perfect pocket pistol. Great for active or summertime carry, when you're wearing shorts and a tank top and don't want to attract attention.
I'm picking up a G17 mos that I found used for 450 on Wednesday, I was thinking of picking up a G26 along with it.. but now you got me thinking maybe the bodyguard. Wwyd? Im leaning more towards the G26 as well, I keep putting off the G26 but I think it's time!
Bought one. Already sold it. The rear sight was too wide for me and both the rear and front sight came misaligned from the factory. The trigger safety looks and feels like it might snap off at a moments notice. This might be a decent option for someone but not for me.
The ergos of the BG2.0 are fantastic. Keep an eye on the two-part feed ramp that looks a bit cheaply made. Probably won't bother the usual customers for .380, but if you practice a lot with it, it could get a bit funny with hollow points or flat nose ammo.
@spnfirearms underwood is good ammo but check the gel test for 380's with short barrels as far as penetration, expansion and wound channel the federal 90g hydra shock has it beat. Just a thought, I study this type thing so to carry/use the best ammo I can find
Love they made it a light striker fire !!! Just what I want in my pocket lol ..to me the original double action was that way cause your tossing it in a pocket ..I know that's the only issue I've heard against it ..

I have two BG2.0s, one with the thumb safety and one without. The sights are adjustable. But it’s also a tiny gun with a thin grip. Personally my groups center up when I shoot one handed with this thing, so I know I’m doing something mechanically wrong with my left hand that bigger guns are more forgiving about. I’ve had one hangup on the feedramp (with the no thumb safety one) and it was when the gun was dirty. Get an uplula and leave the mags loaded for a while. Or run a hundred rounds through it. They do loosen up. Out of four mags, none of mine have needed a fluff & buff to work properly. I would prefer different sights, not gonna argue that one. They do prioritize fast sight acquisition over precision too much, in my opinion.
Civil liberty? They run flawlessly so far. I haven’t had any malfunctions with that handgun yet. Just the sights were off was the only problem so far. Respect
