I was born in India and this was the first city I visited outside India back in 2007 for a summer internship at FSU. Even though the city is small but it was an unforgettable experience for me. Now I live in Europe and have been to many big cities of the world but Tallahassee being the first experience as a foreign city still has a deep impact on me and will always remain so. I really wish to visit this city again.
I am originally from SC and went to undergrad at FSU and became a Floridian thanks to Tallahassee. I currently live in Tampa and the traffic here is getting a little insane. Though there is more "to do" in Tampa, I enjoyed Tallahassee's Southern, laid-back charm, the game days (Go 'NOLES!!), and you at least get two of the four seasons. Thanks for shooting this video. Though it's not your typical tourist destination, Tallahassee has that college-town charm that easily surpasses any city in FL without all the traffic. Oh, and the canopy roads which are almost non-existent in Tampa.
Having previously lived in London and New York, I feared the worst when life took me to Tallahassee. Six years later and approaching forty years of age, I have to say I love it here. The outdoor lifestyle is fantastic despite the summer heat and the city is just so green! I'm definitely going to miss it when we leave and this video will help remind me of a good relaxing time in my life. Cheers y'all!
I was born in Tallahassee in 1957. Tallahassee was a nice little town back then. The Duval Hotel was, basically, a retirement home for many elderly folks. My friend, Bruce Willis and I, would sit on the porch with some the elderly folks and listen to their life story's while watching the traffic go by. If I recall, the Duval Hotel was located on the corner of Park Ave and Monroe St, but, correct me if I am wrong. Then, the developers came in and tore it down. The building on the corner of College Ave and Monroe was a saloon in the 1800's. It was a drug store when I was a child and a Woolworth was a few stores down. The Seminole Tribe still owns the block between College, and Jefferson. My dad (Archie Taylor ) opened a service station (Taylor's Sinclare) on the corner of Ausley and Pensacola St in 1965. Later became "Taylor's Fina" and, finally, "Taylor's BP". He was a Railroad man, so I started working there when I was 8' By the time I was 12, I was running the station ( as far as reading the pumps and counting the cash) while Dad was gone for weeks at a time. We sold so many tires, Dad won a trip to London, England. Bryan W. Taylor
Tallahassee! I am from here and live here. It's a great place to live! Not the most exciting place to live but extreme excitement as far as amusement parks and beaches are not far away. Even when I travel to those places I always look forward to coming back home. Great overview of the capital city!!
Does the alumni village still exist ? I used to live there with my parents in the 70s , what about Tallahassee mall and the brown derby steak house . Non of them seem to exist any more .i went to Caroline brevard elementary school .cheers ,
Oh this was so sweet. Tallahassee was where I decided to raise my son and was home to us for almost 20 years. I loved that I never had the Big City worries of my childhood growing up in Miami. A very beautiful city rich with culture, history and fresh air. No matter where my travels take me, I am always delighted go back. Thank you bunches for this video.
Tallahassee is my Home town.I was born and raised here.I love the small town feel although, it has grown so much. It's Beauty and charm attracts many people whether they are students or Families.Welcome to Tallahassee the Capital of Florida! My Home Town!!!
That was so enjoyable thanks. I'm a born and raised native who staid. I find plenty to do with all the festivals we have. Not right now because of covid of course, but in normal times. LOL. Of course I'm granny age so a movie at AMC is a hot time for me. I wasn't bored growing up either but I had to work a lot from a young age to get by. Times are better now thankfully. I've got my "toes up" retirement house and will probably die here too. Oh well it's plenty nice.
the best thing I did was move from this city nothing to do lily jobs, I live in Hallandale Beach Fl which is close to Miami and Hollywood Beach Fl the night life is great it's a lot of jobs that's available and paying good.
Great video and timing....we're moving my daughter down to start at FSU next week....and then continuing the drive to Tampa to our new home after that!
I’ve lived in Tally for three years (I’m a junior at FSU) and I’ve never heard of some of these places! I’ll be sure to try them out, especially the planetarium! Thank you!
Born and raised in Tallahassee. Never went horseback riding or four wheeling... probably because I'm black, lol! Wasn't an easily accessible activity for us. I went to FAMU, but also took a couple of courses at FSU. It is definitely a college and government town, but growing up there it's life. I live in South Florida now and see my hometown as a calm place to visit....not too exciting to live there. Beautiful video, though!
Beautiful job on presenting Tallahassee. I haven't been up there in about 10 years and I think Cascades Park is new since I've last been. I'm hearing alot how Gaines St is being built up. Makes me want to revisit the city.
You could have mentioned Wakulla Springs just outside of Tally. Deepest springs in America and home of many Tarzan movies and The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Absolute beautiful.
@@TampaAerialMedia what's wrong with Minneapolis? Minnesota is actually rated higher than Florida is overall as a state to live in. It's just cold and Florida has beach weather. Woop Dee Doo!
I have visited 35 out of 50 states in the USA. I mainly travelled around by bus, though it's taken me 4 trips over the years to see this Great country, and yes Tallahassee Florida was one of those city's I visited...Don't really care what anyone says, I reckon it's a lovely city. There's plans for a 5th trip to the US someday, only because I really enjoy travelling in your country. I'm an Australian, so there's a complement for you ! 'No worries.. 'Ta.'

If you're not a student, Politician, not a state worker, and not outdoorsy...Don't live here 😐. If you're looking for the ultimate Florida experience, this is NOT it. It's basically south Georgia.
Yeah Tallahassee would be a nice city if they actually have things to do 🙄. If you're not in college it's gonna be boring lol. I can admit it's a nice city to raise children tho because of the environment that is all but if you wanna do fun things and explore gotta go on trips to orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville or go to the beach in Panama city.
I went to college in Tallahassee and have been back to visit and live in Tampa now. Yeah it's not your typical Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, or Miami, but all of that hustle and bustle all the time gets old. I sometimes find myself wanting to be the tourist because they don't have to deal with the ridiculous traffic. Lived in Tallahassee three separate times. It's a nice place to live but if you're not involved in education or politics or old, the place is one of the least exciting to be. I do like the outdoors but you have to reshape your friends list as everyone under 35 moves within two years. You just run out of things to do. Tallahassee is Tallahassee. Nothing more nothing less.

Are there a lot of hills? Or just a few?
just a few
That's wrong. LOTS of hills. Tally is the Hilliest city in the State. Definitely hilly by Florida and even coastal southeast standards.
So many beautiful historic buildings and then some eyesores. Some of these buildings seem so out of place. But it is a beautiful place.
