Hi Hovey, Long time no hear from me I know. I have one of those ultra-sonic cleaners and I had good luck cleaning my 577/450 Martini-Henry and .577 Snyder cases by adding a tablespoon of citric acid crystals. After that treatment, I neutralized (hopefully) the citric acid solution on the cases by rinsing them off in clean tap water. they came out fine. I got the idea from the use of my Frankford Arsenal Wet Tumbler for clleaning brass cases. Some guys use Lemi-Shine (for automatic dishwasher use) but I picked up the citric acid crystals from a wine-making supply house.cheaper than you can buy Lemi-Shine for.. You might want to give that a try. I never used any other sort of cleaner in my Ultra-Sonic cleaner and have cleaned all sorts of stuff in it. Just a suggestion of course! It worked fine for me.
Nice review hovey. Introduced you to some old freind today at a new job they loved your Africa hunting videos do you have any more hunts like that on your channel or on tape
I have vevor diesel heater, very happy with them, man, those things throw out a lot of heat and they are small, only require 12 volts. I got them for power outages. I just use a strong pine sol mix, cleaned carbs and things well. I use "moose milk" for black powder handgun parts. Brass it didn't impress me
I am a reloader too. For your brass cartridge cases you need to use a 10% solution of Citric Acid. That should work better on the carbs too. No caustic solution. If you want to use Simple Green, DO NOT USE THE GREEN version. Use the Aircraft or HD from Home Depot. I have the 2L version of that cleaner and love it. I will never use a tumbler for cases again.
How is it going Mr Hovie , glad to see you are doing well , met you on Ossabaw island, had some of your hog head stew , hope to run across you again someday , enjoyed talking to you
I am looking for a younger partner for next year's Ossabaw PW hunt. I can provide the guns and camp stuff, but I now find I need someone to help me set up and drag out. Anyone come to mind?
