@I_LOVE_THE_SUNCOAST Seyboth won a junior slam as an 18 year-old. He was beating kids, that wasn't impressive. Fonseca won a junior slam just 2 weeks after turning 17. This is how you can separate the good players from the great. Fonseca stopped playing junior events right after turning 17. Seyboth was playing junior events at 18.5 years old (the age he had when the won that title). And Fonseca already beat Seyboth in a pro challenger match btw, when Fonseca was 16. lol
@@sheniz1337 This is clearly harder hitting than alcaraz, but now that you mention it I realize their styles are similar huge forehands mixed with dropshots
I've been following his games pretty close. To reach the next level he still needs to improve his physicality (normal for a 18yo kid) and consistency. He is hitting lots of balls in the net or long after one brilliant point. He climbed more than 700 positions this year, won his first challenger title and can go toe to toe with top 80 to top 200 players. To climb that ladder is entirely up to him, whether he can add some tools, variations and game IQ or not.
Woah. That is huuuuuuuuuge. Kid is a beast. I'd be double checking his test results for sure tho lol. Hope he stays healthy b/c his joints are gonna get quite a workout with all that torque and impact.
He’ll be a top clay court player in the next few years for sure. Once he learns how to use his power on the other two surfaces he’s going to be so fun to watch. If Novak Djokovic thinks he can be one of the next big players, who am I to disagree.
No.1 in 2 years can easily happen? Alcaraz & Sinner will be around for a very long time. Remember them? Fonseca's a really promising player on clay but he needs a lot of improvements on grass & hard courts from what I have seen. No chance of getting near the no.1 spot.
Im very sure that maybe top5 , but realistically speaking as long as Alcaraz and Sinner are there , there's not too many chances for him to achieve that in that period of time.
For reference, Alcaraz and Sinner started to enter the top 100 at the same age Fonseca(#162) is now. He is not that far off and he'll definitely get to top 10/5 in his career, but his competition for the NO1 spot in a few years is huge.
@@ayushrayoo3624 That's right, if Fonseca has a comparable career to the guys on this list his career will already be a big success. But I hope he will be able to will some slams.

No doubt its incredibly impressive shotmaking and at a glance you think 'multiple Slam winner' great movement, easy power off cleanly struck grounstrokes a serve that will get better as he gets older and stronger. You just hope his body holds up to the grind of the Tour and his love of the game doesn't fade ,if he builds on what he has, its hard to see him not be a real force going forward.
He turned 18 today. Congrats Joao. Brazil cheering for you 🇧🇷
Sorry dude... We americans will buy this guy and he will play for USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@fireandice-p6hwell done..good job
This guy is a real deal ! In a couple of years top 10 ! His ball striking is so clean it’s so satisfying
x doubt
I would be shocked if it takes him 2 years to crack the top ten
but he is too incosistent. the highlights doesnt show the any errors.
He has challengers already, at 17 years old, so he has time to improve on that area of his game.@@palags4860
@@palags4860 bro he just turned 18yo… Alcaraz wasn’t that consistent at 17 also
This guy is definitely going to be something in a few years.
It's so great having a Brazilian with this level of tennis since Guga. Vamo, João 🇧🇷🎾
He makes the clay surface looks like hard court... Massive shots!
Joao is definitely future top 10 and heading for #1 and slams. That FH is titanic
Those who dont know Joao won the US Open 2023 junior slam and also held world no 1 ranking in juniors !!

This 4 d info...👏
These are great highlights, can't wait to watch Fonseca grind his way up the ATP, incredible power both wings and dead accurate to boot.
This kid hits the ball harder than anyone I’ve seen. Esp at that age.
I agree man, had the opportunity to watch him in person at a challenger. That forehand - wow!
Alcaraz probably
Him vs. Rublev or Alcarez would be fire.
@@sheniz1337 This is clearly harder hitting than alcaraz, but now that you mention it I realize their styles are similar huge forehands mixed with dropshots

That's the risk of flat hitting. They're lower percentage shots but flashy to watch
@@operation2096 He doesn't hit flat. His forehand has a huge amount of topspin. He is just a little wild.
A new star from Brazil
By far one of my favorite players to watch. Unreal
Vaaaamos, Joaoooo 🇧🇷❤🇧🇷
Just great to watch him playing, clean technique.
ATP be like friendship ended with Sinner. Now Fonseca is my best friend 😂
Sinner Doped. That's why.
Fonseca going to be really fun to watch!
Brazil's own Sinner.
I am sure he'll be top 20 within a couple of years. Bar injuries of course.
Incredible power of forehand with accuracy!
Carlos became world n.1 at 19 and has done a lot for 21, this kid definitely has potential seeing he’s also killing it!
We’ll see how high he can go. I hope he can crack the top 5-10. Amazing ball striker
he's gonna be incredible, literally had that stadium in Rio bouncing that was insane
He's a beast!
He's insane! A joy to watch🔥
I hope he can keep up, have a great team with him and continue growing his game.
Happy 18th birthday, Joao Fonseca 🎉🎊
He looks like a very promising player with great potential. I would like to see him play on hard court and grass so as to see how he handles himself.
I've been following him since I saw him beat Fils and Garin in Rio and I became his fan. Soon the top 10 will also face him, I'm sure of it.
This guy looks amazing
Holy smokes! This kid is insane!
Vamo João 💪🏻
O Brasil está com vc
0:49 a mulher solta até um "caaaaralho" com aquela forehand kkkkkk
Future multiple grand slam winner for sure!
This is awesome😅. What an Explosive forehand from an 18-year old. I think He is the youngest in the top 200 players ranked in the world at 162.

Looking forward to more of his game in the near future.
I think i might have just become a Joao Fonseca fan
Brazilian Machino!! 🇧🇷
His footwork is phenomenal. The way he gets to the ball, into position, allows him to play with power and control. 6:45 is an example.
This kid is unreal!
He hasn’t won’t anything yet. Skill set is not an issue, but his mental game and stamina will ultimately be decisive when it comes to titles.

killer forehand!
This kid if he works hard can achieve a lot. I see no visible weakness, he just needs to ramp up stamina and he is good to go.
His footwork is suberb
Be interesting if he meets Sinner or Alcaraz one day...
Hoping he qualifies for the US Open tmrw! Maybe he could draw one of them in the first round...
he was a hitting partner for them in last year's ATP Finals.
Impressive. He looks like having the strong weapons of both Alcaraz and Sinner.
Can't wait for him to become the world #1
Never gonna happen
@@RawDogTV sure it will.. go see him live and compare to other players...
i saw him last year but 2025 he will enter top 15 for sure

He plays like Sinner
Fun to watch!🎉

Toperson!! Parabéns João!!🥳
He is definitively the next big thing in the tennis tour
He's like a more aesthetically pleasing version of Sinner. Of course, Sinner is the nicest guy on the tour - so imma gonna stay loyal to him!

Brillant future, he just needs to work hard on his serve, then he will be a next legend.
Goran Ivanisevic will be his ideal coach after his recent split with Nole.

One to watch, next up competitor.
