You've done a lot of vids on brightening products over the years. I would love to hear which ones have worked best for you, in addition to dark spot reduction. Thanks!
Agree! Like a best of the best, or which are best for what. So many on the market, it’s hard to know what’s worth the time/money. Also those with sensitivities (like ascorbic acid)!
Thank you so much for all your reviews! My hubby suggested it and I was about to purchase it for my melesma and now I’m listening to your review! Amen 🙏🏻
I'm using this. Since melasma is my culprit, I appreciate you mentioning the soy ingredient that it may not be the best for what I'm suffering with, so I may not repurchase it. Ugh, this melasma is a pain.
Thank you for this video! I have been using Remedy for a little over a month now and it is fading my spots noticeably. I have a ton of melasma too and I am noticing it is fading a bit also while using this, which is great because typically it really gets bad this time of year.
Im super interested in this one! Once i finish my current pigment inhibitor im for sure going to try this! 😊 as always thanks so much for all your hard work and doing such educated, thoughtful testing and reviews so we can makr informed purchases. With how saturated the market is, it is overwhelming madness trying to curate a routine!
No, the Doritos and cheese thing is legendary😋 And then I sprinkle eiher taco or picante sauce after the cheese is melted and yummmmm!🥰of course, sometimes I'll replace a meal with it, instead of a snack😁 I do love the retinoid/hand thing and I noticed a difference in about a week, but 3 months was when I could really tell! I believe youre right with the soy. I had hormone receptor positive breast cancer and was told to avoid soy because it has an estrogenic effect. Have a beautiful day💗🌤
Glad u brought this up. I'm health care provider who tells women all the time. I get incredulous looks. However, soy is problem when eaten. Even I can take vaginal estrogen per my breast doctor. (HRT +) Good health sister.
@Kathy-e6y It's always wonderful to hear from another survivor💗💗💗Some don't understand how awful the treatment for HRT+ is, skin, bones, essenially all womanly features. My voice dropped significantly. The treatments for the osteoporosis I'm now enduring made me wonder if the treatment was worth it. Of course, it was, but please guard your bone mass. I'm in my 50's and wish I would've.
Good video! How About If you forget to put on your PIH Skin serum in the am....If if you an hour or so after your moisturizer and you then put it on....will it get into the skin, granted in the am there were about 3 serums and moisturizer applied.
Have you looked into the Medi-peel Strogen Rx II cream at all? It claims to combat melasma and it has good reviews. I am wondering what your thoughts are on it.
I haven;t tried it yet but I just put it in my cart at yesstyle- pretty affordable so that is nice. Seems like a lot of people have had good luck with it so maybe it will be a winner, fingers crossed!
I was trying to find the Euceurin Anti Pigment serum it’s supposed to have a new ingredient for blocking pigment Interested in this one too Been using the Numbuzin #5 serum and toner (has Nonapeptide 1) idk why they didn’t put all that in the serum lol and tretnoin I’ve gotten so much of my freckles off it’s incredible!!! Along with GA and retinol lotions on my body every night. It’s been a little over a year battle it’s not easy task to take on but im definitely determined and consistent! I hope I win lol pro shoulda just asked for the prescription hydraquinone from my derm
I absolutely love it. However I think I may be becoming allergic to something in it. I only put it on my face. But my neck and chest turn bright red with an allergic reaction. It feels lovely
Do u have a video about microneedleing I just bought a roller and need to look into how to do it right recovery time can u use your regular skincare routine all the things I gotta look up info on
I did one years ago but these days RUclips frowns upon those types of videos so I haven't done a video on it since then. The biggest thing is to soak the roller in alcohol for about 10 minutes before using it. Then make sure your skin is super clean and no active breakouts. I typically apply a copper peptide serum and then microneedle over that. After I'm done microneedling then I'll apply something like the RevivSerum Ultimate Serum. The next morning a good moisturizer! I would try to do it once a month.
We have the same issues, small mouth (physically 😂) and a small face, kids sunglasses. I'm glad you're reviewing this brand, especially for dark/sun spots. Im loving my SK II and Caudalie Reversateol-Lift. 🌺
Hello Sarah, This is out of left field, but maybe you can help. I have Angular Chiitis, painful cuts in the corners of the mouth. Most say to use an antifungal cream. Do you have any experience with this condition? I'm wondering what to apply for this. If you have an info, great, if you've never had this condition, you're lucky. Just thought I'd ask in case you've had to deal with this. Thanks
Do not put anti-fungal on angular chelitis unless you have a definitive diagnosis/script from a qualified healthcare professional. Best thing is Vaseline for protection. Have your HCP check your B-12 level (blood test) to see if you are deficient.
Also pigment inhibitors Can prevent hyperpigmentation like ur azalaic acids kojic stuff like reversitol is a good antioxidant that can help in the am because ita gentle it has the antioxidant and acts like a pigment inhibitor. Theee can help close the door to help prevent the pigments from coming back along with fading. Usually we worry about pigment inhibitors at night and it leaves an open door in the AM for it to come in that's why reversitol is good in the am as well . Just leaned that 😂
@@letitiapadilla524 idk about it 100% I might have heard wrong but I thought I heard penn smith skincare talking about it in the morning maybe she said adding it at night. Ill have to go back and watch the video because I was doing other things.
@heathersargent289 I love Penn Smith! I didn't get the info from her though.. "Resveratrol is a highly light-sensitive compound, and exposure to light causes about 80%-90% of trans-resveratrol in solution to convert into cis-resveratrol. Resveratrol is also easily degraded at high temperature, as well as under pH change, ambient fluorescent light, or air exposure." From my testing it appears to be right around 4.5 I have another brand of test strips and I'll test it with those to see if I get a different number and let you know.
I used this product with over the counter Adapalene gel without issue. (Gel easier for me to spread and evenly so). Tret likely too strong. I wouldn’t start both at the same time even so. Get used to one first then add the other later.
Ah- the soy issue. I think ( definitely could be wrong) It’s more about some people think it can interfere with hormones ( and they therefore think it can potentially alter hormones such that it stimulates melasma). This is due to the isoflavone content of soy… so really depends if you believe that the isoflavone content of soy has the ability to be absorbed and alter your hormones. Ultimately resulting in hyperpigmentation). Well that’s what I’m guessing tbh. Soy is crucified by many. I don’t eat it tbh & don’t use it in my skin ( health things, ). Soy is in most products tbh- given lots of different names and many ingredients are derived from soy. You likely are using it constantly & don’t realise. Soys ability to decrease hyperpigmentation and melasma is quite well documented… but I will stop there! I’m just guessing this is what you may have stumbled across and based on my knowledge about soy etc… and it is past midnight here! lol so I’m probably making no sense . Thanks for the review. Excellent ingredient list & wondered how well it worked. The soy tho- I can’t use it & won’t
I think it's definitely a controversial subject and there are people on both sides of the soy issue. Not sure if I've made my mind up either way, although I think I'd rather err on the side of caution because it has taken me over a decade to get my melasma this under control. I'd hate to be wrong and end up making things worse... Definitely requires more research before I'd recommend either using it or not using it to others.
Soy is supposed to be really calming for skin which is why aveeno products are so gentle. Never heard that it affects melasma, I wouldn’t put too much thought into it
I’m disappointed to hear this may not be good for melasma sufferers like myself. Sounded so promising, didn’t realize soy was something I should avoid😟. Thanks for the heads up😊🙏🏼
I really like this product and have used it for a few months. I have noticed lightening of my dark spots already. I started using it a couple of days a week and now use it 3-4 days a week and use Remedy for Pore Size on the other days but Remedy for Dark Spots is the one I will repurchase. Shipping is a pain but if I subscribe I will get a 10% discount. Thanks for the video 💜
Hi Sarah, you’re absolutely right about soy ingredient, it’s not for everybody, it broke me out like instantly. I applied at night, the next morning I woke up with closed comedones, that immediate! Agree with you, not worth to risk skincare with soy in it.
From what I gather the soy issue u mentioned helps to reduce the transfer of color to the melanocytes to the skin cells that is what I gather so I think only my opinion would help melasma not hurt it . For me it’s been a winner .
P.S. I had to email remedy anyway, so I mentioned your concern. I don’t know if you’ve already written them and discussed it, but if not, shall I let you know how they respond? I’m sure I will have heard some thing back in the morning because they are amazingly quick at responding to email. Hope to hear back from you on my other post. Thanks for everything, Sarah!
I'm so bummed for you- soy is starting to show up more and more often in products lately. I'm not a huge fan of soy anyway but it is disappointed when you can't even try the product out without having a reaction.
When formulas call for 1 pump or a “pea-sized” amount, I usually mix it with a touch of light moisturizer without a lot of actives (like Stratia Lipid Gold or the Interface moisturizer, or Peach&Lily Barrier Serum) so that I can spread it evenly. I learned that lesson the hard way with my first retinoid 😅 “but I need more than 2 pumps to cover my whole face!” nuh uh. Don’t. 😭
