Like many hackers I have the problem of not ever finishing on my front foot, have a compulsion to fall on to my back foot and it is a killer. Never come across much about fixing this problem.
At 10:16 what is the upwards bump before the initial downwards move. Is that happening before or after he initiates the takeaway? Love your analysis even though as a 74 year old I can’t hit it out of my own shadow these days.
I get a really good feeling of when I put the club across my shoulders. I feel like I'm going to hit the ball with the club coming off my right shoulder, but then when I put both hands on the club and make a normal swing, it's hard for me to recreate that feeling
Golf is like that i know what you mean. It’s all practice to be completely honest. People really need their swing analysed on a regular basis from a leading instructor. And practice correctly over months and months. That’s how you really improve.
I already know the answer...he's like 6 feet tall and has a huge swing arc...I',m5'5 and have a small swing arc so it doesn't matter how fast I try and swing will never generate swing speed
So you are 93% of his height. I’m guessing you have less than 93% of his club head speed, or you probably be happy enough. So perhaps there’s more to why he hits it so far than just being tall(ish). I mean, I’m taller than he is and have a huge arm span for my height, but I don’t hit it any further than the (very) average amateur golfer.
Mate if you were on the range and JT walked up and offered you advice you’d be like a small child and thanking him so much for his time don’t write shitt and be disrespectful ! - Ex number 1 and major championship winner … The video is about why he it’s it so far.. and what we can learn. Not to swing exactly like him although i’m assuming it wouldn’t hurt you champ!
Which brain is to the question that we all want answered which we all know the drivers that the PGA tour players are playing are not legal there’s no way you can get a 1.52 when the fastest legal isn’t 1.50. And race car racing when the car is done tested to see if it’s legal. Why don’t they do that in golf because they know they would find illegal golf clubs they tested what one event and found illegal golf clubs and never tested again.
Good to see the data, thanks. 3 inches of lumbar compression (head stays mostly level) leads to severe back pain/injury long-term. Fortunately there are swings out there that rotate more and compress less and that has allowed me to continue to play, pain-free. Years of lower back pain because of my "classic" swing mechanics. Golf is hard enough without dealing with that kind of impediment.
If you are curious why JT stinks now, look no further than his stats the day after he got married. You can find this correlation with 95 percent of golfers both pro and am.

Hi Thanks very much. I’m not sure exactly what you mean by upwards Bump?
I’m referring to the line on the graph which goes up at the start before it goes down. Is this before or after the start of the takeaway?

Must be satisfying to hear JT say, now when someone asks me how I hit it so far, "now I'll have an official answer."

@@robinclaidlaw you only average 225 off the tee?
I would not be looking to JT for swing tips
That shows a lot
Granted, He is better than me tho 😂

I know guys at my local club that are ams that hit the ball further then JT and there using normal drivers, there just powerful and good.
