That 67 camaro had some power. Wow
Oh yeah. He had some mph
@@OverydeMotorsports yes he did.
I'm not sure but if you tightened the converter a little wouldn't it help and maybe a 240 amp alternator
I can’t fit that big of an alternator with the current header setup. Gonna try a different brand of converter. Should be a bit tighter to
yeah, i paused the car show scene to dial in my shit bucket. i brought home a time slip that says 11.590. the strip manager himself came out to tell me that i just need a half a second to get thrown out, i'm really happy but i have the big oregon mustang club thing coming up
Whatched the new src video and tommy was talking about the falcon not 60' recently and that he had a few boost leaks they had found.. dont know but made me think of your car?
I checked a bunch of that thinking the same!
Have you talked to CD about the converter ? And your logs ? Seems ok on the shift from how much rpm it drops.
Very interested to see what the ptc does and the stator they have in it. They do a lot of my custom converters.
I’ll come check your car out on the 12th.
Sounds good man! I am super interested as well.
So the charge pressure staying around 65-70 is probably that freaking 60psi pressure relief valve you put on, look at it with nothing on it then put a regulator on it. I don’t do alot of powerglide stuff but what I was seeing guys saying from under 100psi to some seeing +175psi, I guess I don’t get why it can’t go over 70psi
They will hurt thrust bearings with a lot of pressure. That’s why the relief is in there I was hoping it stayed there
I thought this was cooling charge pressure. Not converter pressure.
@@OverydeMotorsports i know you cut down that pilot extension, first I would let the transmission do its thing without the relief valve & if your still having issues get rid of that pilot extension & just bolt the converter to the flex plate with the correct amount of pull out, id say that would help the thrust problem. Troubleshooting works best when you make larger adjustments.
@@slowjoeturbostang excessive coolant pressure isn’t referred to as coolant charge pressure it’s just coolant pressure, I understood it as it’s called charge pressure because it’s changing the converter, but I’ve also heard people call me stupid too.. lol
Have u tried a different turbo and logged back pressure
I’ve rebuilt this one. I have not logged back pressure
Put more gear in the car!
I agree!!
And what’s the deal with guys always going to 3 or 4 fuel pumps, why not a pump to drive & a PUMP to thrive, use one of them 525 or whatever they are on the n/a and something like a magnafuel 750 or aeromotive bushless 3.5 or 5.0 on the positive pressure, then let Holley take the wheel. Something else to look into Is the quality of your electric, better quality higher amp batter & alternator even add one of them little batteries that newer cars use on their stop/start.
He had 2 different brushless pumps in it and had issues with them. That's why he put the triples in. Just needs to figure out the electric level issue and he will be fine.
All of those work. These 525s are a lot easier on the wallet to replace then those big brushless deals. This thing has always have voltage probs the headers make it super hard to get the alternator on good and you gotta use a mini one
@OverydeMotorsports Do the 3 pumps run all the time, even when you street drive?
@@mikeklossner5105 nope they come on with boost.
@@OverydeMotorsports I thought those pumps didn't have a check valve in them like say a 450? I run twin 450's and wondered about going 525's but people say not good to stage them.
Could be the china turbo
And check mechman alternator out!
Will do! It uses all the fuel, it makes 30psi in .8 seconds. I would think it tap out up top instead of down low. But a possibility
When you went the faster 60fts was it with the same turbo?
Yessir
@@OverydeMotorsports what converter was in the car back then?
A ptc. Going back to it now. Just had to have it redone since I changed the rear gear
@OverydeMotorsports that's what I run, it was setup by Dusty Bradford. It went in the low 1.20s so far. I run a similar setup to yours, it's a 5.3 ljms stage 2 cam, stock port 243s and a 92mm turbo on about 32psi.. its been 135 to the 1/8th so far and I've had it to 35psi on the dyno so I'm guessing it should go 138-140 on a good clean pass. This is on slicks as well.
@OverydeMotorsports have you been having this issue since the gear change maybe?
Could be the amount of separation in the rear?
I wouldn’t think so! Same setup as it’s always had
Maybe the converter will fix u up. Sounds like it’s dragging it down on the slower hits to me. Just my useless opinion. Good video
Thanks! I think it will. Gotta be. It’s been shit ever since I got this one
@@OverydeMotorsports Your problems, issues, performance lacking have continued and will continue ...
Why? because You remain among the ignorant, lacking the proper basics, then ask You viewers for information , assistance, which have their clear, certain ignorance, lacking as You !
Clearly, obviously, certainly having 30+ lbs of boost with such low power is an obvious issue, problem within the basics of the engine system
a. measured boosted air pressure not achieving necessary air flow
b. fuel issues
c. ignition issues
Your problems, issues are actually among the common 'street' racers with their ignorance, lacking proper ideas, concepts, principles using "Trial & Error"= Failure !
Your challenge [and mission], if You choose to accept it, is : view, contact, consult actual experts with proper knowledge, principles, experience, expertise.
Some suggested experts: David Vizard, EFI University, R.E. D., Dennis [PME], Lake speed, Jr., Justin Shearer [Chief], Jeff Lutz, Larry Larson, Shawn [187 Customs - OKC - 405], perhaps some of these will state some points, information in some manner which You will connect with, benefit from, be affected by and thus proceed upon a proper path with proper methods. Maybe also listening to the discussion which Clay Millican posts iin his videos with his Crew Chief, currently Jim O, previously Mike will affect You to realize what precision, exactness, accuracy, along with proper methods and adjusting for every track condition is necessary, possible as those within NPK, No-Prep and others perform. Maybe some things from Nick Plewniak [Hustlin Horsepower] may have some positive affect too. ?
My hope is that You will begin to accept Your challenge and embark upon Your best path toward improvement, growth, success, continually, thus away from the false ideas, concepts, mindset, misconceptions, etc. This could be similar to, with Your acceptance with those that led You upon the paths within baseball and developing Your machinist skills.
All The Best, Sincerely
19-x stator is extremely loose….
It’s actually about 500-700 tight
The car is on the heavyish side
