Post-16 music education pioneers SupaJam launch ‘The Music Shelf’, a brand new live sessions platform ran by young people.
SupaJam is a unique group of post-16 specialist music colleges based in Swanley, Canterbury and Brighton. We offer individually tailored placements to students who may have previously struggled in formal education settings due to social, emotional or special educational needs, and are now looking for an inclusive alternative educational provision with a focus on the music industry.
The Music Shelf gives our students a professional work experience provision and a platform for both established and up and coming artists to showcase their music. We encourage artists to experiment with their sound and setup, performing stripped, acoustic or alternative versions of their music, sharing the stories behind their songs and working closely with our students who take on roles such as Photography, Videography, Video Editing, Sound Engineering and Artist Liaison.

The ragga twins are some of the very few most professional mc’s left in the scene, they have true musical knowledge & talent and it shows in every set they perform… I can honestly say it’s extremely rare to hear a bad set from the ragga twins!
I remember a set they did on pyro about 5 years or more ago where they absolutely destroyed a pair of gidda-bidda-bidda-bad-boi mc’s and they literally MC’d everything that makes them so amazing and every thing that made the other 2 crap 😂 it was brutal but it was true 🤣… me n my mate was sat there gob-smacked!😮… harmonising their lyrics, alternating/combinating between mics with perfect balance, clear and precise delivery, mc’in in key with track, mc’in in a way that matches the style of the track & more I can’t even explain... so much to be learned from the ragga twins as long as you know what your listening for… they’ve been next level since they began and still continue to be!

Hope this project takes off. Fact is that '90s music came in the face of massive cuts to youth budgets across the board, while the Tories concentrated on older voters, just like today. It was isolating. Thing was though that we then went on to make our own music in our own way, often from the bedroom, we set up our own raves and so on and that was why that scene was so massive back then.
