    100% agree. I picked up a 2023 TE300 tpi back in June and I absolutely love the bike in the technical single track riding that I do as well as everywhere else. I never feel like it's underpowered in fact the bike has so much bottom to mid power it loves being a gear or two tall, the bike just pulls like a tractor up and over any hill or obstacle. These tpi bikes have been fine tuned since 2018 specifically for that kind of riding and it really shows. Myself and a lot of people plate these bikes and it's so nice to just pull up to the pump and put straight gas in, they're very low maintenance machines. I see all the bullshit online about sensor failures but like you said these people go straight to social media about it and the other 98% of owners don't have any major issues and just keep riding.

      I just got an end of year sale on a 2023 te300 myself and looking forward to it.
      I'm sure the tx300 with the tbi would have advantages, but being able to run straight pump gas like you say is such a huge advantage in convenience. I don't think the power delivery difference is going to be a big downside for me. I'm nowhere near good enough on a bike, or plan to do the sort of riding a tbi might benefit from.

      There's no difference between TPI and TBI in how they handle elevation changes, that's why I didn't mention it. It's a great perk of fuel injection in general tho!

    That’s really good advice. I have a ‘23 XCW and love it. I’ve been told that the ‘24 XCW will be TBI with oil pump. I was excited to buy one but given my riding style, like you stated, riding single track, I’m going to stick with my TPI ‘23. It’s the perfect bike for me. 😊

    Well get them while you can because TPI is being completely phased out soon. I much prefer the feel of a TBI bike myself but to each their own. As far as the sensor issues go, almost everyone I ride with with a 21/22 TPI has had the CCP fail, some on the first couple rides. The new models also have several other upgrades the biggest being the electronic power valve. It appears to be a big step forward for KTM overall. I'm guessing a few years from now we will all be talking about what a big mistake TPI was.

    • @SkylarRace
      @SkylarRace 2 года назад +2

      I think we’ll see that TPI remains on the beloved enduro bikes where it works so well. TBI is great on motocross and cross country bikes, but not everyone wants a twitchy race engine that runs on pre-mix.

    I think both are amazing, but I like the feel of of a carb, I also
    have an idea that I could fix/trouble shoot a carb better and quicker than
    the newer bikes. + even though I'm not hip, and the only one in the US that
    still likes natural alum-finish rims, all the newer bikes are
    blacked out, ruins it for me..

    Thanks for sharing your insights of riding both TBI and TPI. Can you comment on the different chassis feel as the new '23 chassis has been a bit polarizing on the 4-strokes with the stiffer overall feel (I have a '22.5 450 Factory Edition and it is noticeably firmer feel overall). The TPI 250/300 engines are well sorted and run clean in such a wide range of temperatures. Gas and go simplicity with oil injection too. My 2021 KTM 300 Erzberg has been trouble fee and (3) of my friends have 20/21/23 300 Erzbergs all with zero issues and all of them love the bike and TPI. I have a '23 300XC on order and dealer indicates could be here end of September or early October so will be fun to compare back to back to my '21 300 Erzberg.

    Wow , ive been hanging onto my 12 to 16 style kehin carbed bike mostly because of the huge lack of performance in newer tpi bikes where you have to buy a 300 to run even close to a older 250.
    So your review gives me hope in the new tbi and I'm all for not having a oil pump.
    So far my biggest concern about the new tbi bikes is the lack of a kick-start.
    As for your concern about to snappy, did you try the more mellow map ? It should make a real difference now that it has a electric power valve.
