  • One of my favourite scenes from Deadwood: Trixie stews over Al's illness and a fight with Sol, and manages to outdrink and outswear Calamity Jane. From Season 2, Episode 3, "New Money."

Just one more scene where Jane is suddenly 10,000 times more sensitive than you'd ever expect.

She's so impressed by the amount of anger and vitriol that she makes Jane polite by proxy.

It’s a powerful drunken rant that can make Jane try to change the subject to talk about the weather.

The writing on this show is phenomenal, so eloquent and has a very Shakespearean style. Despite the vulgarity the well delivered lines and cadence doesn't overwhelm you with offense, but an understanding of the characters genuine expression.

Right you are, and it doesn't hurt that the actors are as terrific as they are. Here, for instance, Weigert is brilliant, as always. She is a continual wonderment.

Hello; Now thinking back, of all the series I watched my favorite character is Jane. Even with this conversation I just thought her role was the best. This actress really brought Jane to life. Thanks

Oh yes, and I always had a soft spot for Joanie Stubbs as well, which is why I was so happy to see them become an item. I could watch a whole show of just the two of them.

This scene was an example of two fine actors applying their trade. Trixie being Irish did a fantastic job of covering her natural accent throughout this series.

Jane is just lost in the sauce here. 😂 I wonder if she finally realized what everybody else goes through whenever they're talking to her. I've seen that same look on Charlie's face and Doc's every time they're trying to keep up with Jane's drunken rants.

The way Jane looks around with her eyes like she doesn't quite know what to make of Trixie but likes her anyway. Trixie even goes so far as to say that Al has a good side and Jane replies that she must have "entirely fuckin' missed it". LOL Why oh why did such epic television have to be so short lived? Much like 'Rome' that I loved also.

I loved that. Especially when she herself chastises General Fields later for looking around. "I don't care who see's me sharing a bottle with you, sitting with you, no matter how stupid your outfit is" xD When Jane had a chill load on, she was something wild.

There are a lot of great lines in the Deadwood series. One of my favorite lines is when Jane takes a bath and exclaims: "DOH!! Burned my fuckin' snatch!!" I mean really, how often do you hear a woman say that?
