Please donot use plastic plates while heating or steaming. I hope these are not plastic but glass or ceramic! As a materials scientist i can tell you that plastics at high temperatures (even at 100C) degrade despite what manufacturers say! It is not a robust material unlike rust free stainless steel or high temperature ceramic materials.
