@@yeahSkippy speaking of open world farming games... I think "Tales of Seikyu" looks good. I'll try that soon when it comes out this year. (It says at least officially but no official day with a month... just year. No promises.) You can turn into yokai and farm the land using the forms. So far the flying mechanics look super cool so I'm very interested in that. There's another game I've been watching for a year called Litchi town, which is more realistic laid back kinda japanese farming sim. You can farm rice from paddies and everything. It doesn't come out yet at all but definitely worth a watch. ALSO there's a game called Sengoku Dynasty but it's more rowdy and violent compared to calm and casual. You gotta deal with getting food for your town and building it from the ground up after immigrating from a wartorn country. It's very interesting and fun to explore the land at least. The systems aren't completely done, everything is in early access, but it's very good. I've played about 30 hours on it I think. I haven't been playing farming games lately but I've been seeing a ton of good ones. I hope you found this info helpful and look into it! My birthday be close and I'ma be gettin that nightingale game soon xD
Not skippy hitting us with FOMO on new years day..! 😭😭😂😂 But fr thanks for the great list! Appreciate you highlighting different styles of farming sim games too
Big FOMO for releases from 2023 :) Man I can't wait for this years too. Haha! And you're welcome. I'm glad I was able to diversify the list too. I try to cover all types of games and gameplay elements.
I didn't realize how smooth My Time at Sandrock looked compared to My Time at Portia, same with Harvest Moon: Winds of Anthos. It's nice to see that the team with the HM name has found their footing rather than keep writing off every release as, "Not the real Harvest Moons." Bit sad Rune Factory 3 Special didn't make the radar but there were so many farm sims this year.
Oof! I forgot about that one! I agree there's just so many to cover. And yes, Sandrock looks amazing with its graphics and optimization it really looks like a triple A game lol. I am also happy HM has it's own vibe with it too :) it is tons of great content to enjoy and features.
Yeah I tried the other game and the tutorial was so broken I couldnt even start.. Not sure why it's up there.. I forgot if it was early access or not tbh
Yes! Steam Winter sale is so good this year. Lots to choose from. I'm about to buy Survival Settlement 😂 also managed to get Civilization VI on sale too. Considered streaming those on Twitch.
Since Stardew originally released in full access in 2016, they did not make this list. I actually had two other games originally on here that were in full access in 2022 and before that I chose to cut: Ooblets and Eastward the Game. Stardew's new upcoming 1.6 update however is definitely going to be talked about, whenever we get it!
1,000... wow what a wallops of subs! Congratulations!!
I might get winds of anthos... theres so many animals *v*
Thank you so much :)! It's been a great year and I'm excited for 2024. And yes, there's tons in Winds of Anthos too!

what about stardew vally? :(
You're not wrong that Stardew Valley's full release was available in 2023, but it was initially released in 2016 lol
