I've always loved the contrast between Superman and Lex Luthor. A human who hates aliens vs an alien who loves humanity.

And that makes sense for reaching a wider audience but yeah, I never understood why people have to shit-talk about something just because they like something else

Nah general ross has always been his ride or die villain, abomination a close second though.
@@mavsuper Though Ross has done some horrible things in the comics, I always saw him more as a J. Jonah Jameson-esque character rather than a straight-up villain (up until the Red Hulk saga, but he eventually redeemed himself). Abomination and Leader, on the other hand, are both full-on supervillains. Though Leader was always intended to be Hulk's arch nemesis, he has been seemingly overshadowed by Abomination in terms of popularity. Honestly, Abomination seems to be the only Hulk villain who ever appears in current Marvel media. I wish Leader got more love.
@@stevekoller3314 i see your point. For me I see Abomination to Hulk like Venom is to Spider-Man. He’s definitely competitive in terms of abilities, but Goblin has a stronger emotional attachment with Spidey. I feel like Abomination and Leader have been nemesis for hulk, but Ross and Banner have a richer emotional connection because of their mutual love for Betty.
@@stevekoller3314 I think Leader is Hulk's nemesis and is the exact opposite of Hulk. Hulk has close to limitless strength and low IQ while The Leader is a genius that relies on his intelligence than strength.
Yea. If this list is gonna use modern venom who is a hero, then by that logic it should also use modern Ross/red hulk who isn’t a villain anymore either.
I like how this somewhat implies that Deathstroke can just take on the entirety of the Teen Titans. Like, we see Tim Drake and Supergirl here, so its implies that those two plus Superboy, Beast Boy, and whoever else is on board all together have trouble fighting just Deathstroke that they have to label him a threat to the entire team.
Not bad.
Deathstroke is a serious threat. Whether he is able to solo the entire justice league or get defeated by a single Teen Titan depends in the circumstances.

He even took on Ra's Al Ghul. Someone that even Batman struggled to take on. And I think Deathstroke is a threat to Teen Titans like Darkseid is to The Justice League and Villgax is to Ben. They're arch nemesis but don't always fight. Just their toughest opponents.

I think that’s Thanos now. I love Doom, but he’s more of an anti-hero now and he’s usually involved in storylines where he’s lending other characters a hand or he’s seeking power. I think his last major villain event was God Emperor Doom, but now he’s chill.

Finally someone who understands Spider-man's arch enemy is not Venom. It's the guy who facilitated the death of the woman he loved.
Spidey is known to have three of 'em(well, Venom would be considered to be a fourth one, before officially becoming part of the hero business).
Green Goblin is his most well known.
Doctor Octopus is another example, when compared to their respective animals.
And did I forget to mention J. Jonah Jameson? I mean, if he would count, he seems to think of having the rights to hate Spider-Man.

Just as a heroes home defines who they are, their rivalry is a key component in their journey.
All the bad stuff Venom did was directly influenced by Eddie and the symbiote’s hatred of Spider-Man and was pretty much only directed to him. Even from the start Venom would go out of his way to save innocent bystanders and really wanted to be heroic, he just thought killing Spider-Man was one of the steps to being a hero
Exactly. This is one of the many reasons I just want to punch someone whenever someone says Venom is a villain. It's ridiculous and annoying. Plus the movie reinforces him being a hero too. I guess in the fandom it's just the spider boy fans getting triggered that he's not evil and fighting spiderman. the other side of the fandom doesn't even include spiderman and it's just people who love to see Eddie And Venom interacting with each other in wholesome ways

The only evil things venom did was go after spiderman and even then, like another comment said they'd be fighting ready to kill spiderman one second and the next would save a drowning child. It wasn't until venom bonded to Mac gargan that they made him purely evil and even then it was explained that it was because it was corrupted by Mac gargan.

Í wish he would added more non Marvel or DC chars, like The Darkness, Witchblade, Vampirella, the Wildcats (now DC property) or Ultraforce (now Marvel property) the héroes and villains from 70s, 80s and 90s Cartoons (example, Space Ghost-Zorak, Lion'O-Munn'Ra and Biker Mice-Carbunkle...)
Doctor Doom is to Marvel what Darkseid is to DC, he's the trademark villain, although Thanos has kind off replaced him with the movies and recent comics. While Danvers has Moonstone, the original Captain Marvel's archnemesis was Thanos, it appears that way in The Death Of Captain Marvel, where before he dies on Titan, he must face his rival for the last time, even if Nitro was the cause of Mar-Vell's disease.
Moonstone is a Hulk and Avengers villain.
Yes, you're right, but due to her role as Ms Marvel in the Dark Avengers she seems to fit more as a CM villain in recent years, becoming pretty much an evil counterpart and the most obvious choice as an antagonist in her next movie. Hulk has plenty of other rivalries and she's not his most relevant rogue, so I think there's no harm in changing that part. There's also the fact that the stone that gives her powers is from the Kree, and every picture when you look her up involves a battle with Marvel. It just fits.

It’d be interesting to see a “same powers” lineup: Batman/Owlman (or Hush), Superman/Bizarro, Hulk/Abomination, etc. Heck, some of these (Hal/Sinestro) would be on both lists.
Venom and carnage will be on both lists as well, shazam and adam also

Actually, originally in the comics, the Hulk's sworn enemy is the leader, and the Red Hulk by the standards of the comics is a fairly new character, plus he later became an ally of the Hulk
All these people saying that Venom is not a hero just shows who hasn't read a Marvel comic at all, lmao. Venom is a full blown superhero now in the comics, with his enemies including the likes of Carnage, Knull the Symbiote God, and Ultimate universe's Reed Richards A.K.A The Maker.

There's always one though that rises above all others. This list was pretty accurate.
Its pretty accurate tho. Spider-man and Batman has many arch nemesis but Joker and Green goblin is their worst rival solely because they exist to test the hero's morals

@@GhostSalNo offense meant here, but that's probably because you don't have knowledge of the character's comic history. Green Goblin/Norman Osborn is the only villain that Spider-Man explicitly hates.
@@jrob4795 I wasn’t big on the comic books that’s true (and I’m not offended at all). I have watched the old cartoons and have been a Spidey fan for a long time though. While Goblin is certainly an interesting choice and I understand it; I feel like he has had too many enemies over the years to just say Goblin and it’s done.
For example a poll of Spidey fans picked Doc Ock. Also, when you search SpiderMan arch nemesis, the answer given is - “Also, unlike most superheroes, Spider-Man doesn't have one particular archenemy, but rather three: the Norman Osborn version of the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and the Eddie Brock version of Venom”. So while I hadn’t previously searched this, now that I have, I feel it fits in with how I feel about picking just one.

I just remembered in the old 90’s X-force comic series, Stryfe was behind the Mutant Liberation Force, the reason behind Cable looking for Sam Guthrie/Cannonball in order to save the future that Stryfe destroyed, etc. He was always a thorn in Cable’s side, and vice versa.

Hulk nemesis is the Abomination, Red Hulk is actually neutral
Wrong on the first, correct on the second.
It doesn’t say red hulk it says thunderbolt ross. Because from issue one hulks major antagonist and enemy has been the over zealous head of the military that has hounded hulk across the country in order to destroy him.
Abomination is currently dead. Ross is still here as red hulk. That kind of proves who the true rival is.
To him being neutral? Your technically right. Ross is a patriot who fight for his country.
But the hulk also switches between being a hero and being a weapon of mass destruction (world war hulk)
So even though Ross isn’t pure evil like the other names on this list, he is, and always will be, the hulks most prevalent enemy and antagonist.

The biggest and most glaring difference between Marvel and DC is Marvel heros and villains can both stand on thier own and don't need each other to be intresting.
While DC heros are defined BY thier villians and one cannot exist without the other.

"Arch" means greatest. You cannot have multiple things claiming to be the greatest. Who exactly is a character's arch nemesis though is up for debate.

Pretty sure Abomination is Hulk's arch enemy. Dr. Sivana is Shazam's arch enemy, not Black Adam. I'm fairly certain that Baron Mordo is Strange's arch enemy. Dormammu to Strange is sort of like Darkseid to Superman. Maybe their most powerful villain in terms of raw power, but not their greatest foil.
Eh, Dr. Sivana and Black Adam kinda flip flop between being Shazam's arch-nemesis. You're definitely right about the other two though.

I agree with most but I don't think all are accurate.
I don't know how much you can consider Captain Marvel's (Carol Danvers) archenemy is Moonstone. I think they only ever had one maybe two major fights... After that the only time she fights her is one more time and it only lasts a few panels in the beginning... They don't really fight that often to be considered archenemies imo.
With Hulk I'd say his archnemy is Leader or Abomination.
I don't really consider Loki as Thor's archenemy anymore since he seems to have been redeemed to some extent, and not really as antagonistic towards each other anymore.
Shazam's archenemy is usually considered to be Doctor Sivana and I'd say that one is more accurate.
And I think it's more accurate to say that Dr. Doom is specifically Mr. Fantastic's archenemy more than the Fantastic 4 as a whole.

People who haven't read a whole lot of Daredevil or only seen the Netflix show would believe that Kingpin is DD's Archnemesis.

I like Deathstroke as more of an archenemy to Nightwing.
Also I prefer Hulk’s Archenemy to be Abomination.
The problem with Deathstroke is that he's too broken to be someone's archenemy.
He's quite literally Batman on steroids without the no killing rule, and there's barely anyone who can put up a decent fight against him without calling PIS. Or suffer from being beaten from someone who's on a higher level than him.
Deathstroke was the number 1 pick for the best Nightwing villain in Channel Nerdgasm’s Top 10 Nightwing Villains video.

@@Artryom It's possible to outsmart him, but Nightwing had never beaten him one on one, as far as I know, without outside help. Deathstroke is a mid tier superhuman with a healing factor, who's capable of easily beating Batman in a straight up fight, with only about 1 loss against him.
If Nightwing does beat him in a fight, it would be considered as PIS (plot induced stupidity) by many fans.
