The survivors of this typhoon are a true miracle. Praying for the adults, children and pets in the heat without necessities. Be careful riding around with the tires picking up debris and the lack of fuel. Hopefully there will be bulldozers there soon to help remove and clear out everything. Good to see the younger ones helping the older ones. After living below sea level and having to leave for weeks due to major hurricanes I can sympathize with the after effects and recovery for years after. At my age now and my parents we have had to leave a beautiful city and move to higher ground out of the high impact hurricane area. Always know home is what you make it and wherever you make it. I will keep everyone in my prayers daily and try to get the news out that help is needed now and in the future. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️

The lesson I learned from these type of typhoons is that we need to pay attention to what kind of storm it is, its level. Yolanda is very unforgettable for me and it has happened once again. I heard a joke from my fellow ML players, and that we have already our armors ready for it, but I think it's not the case. I learned from the victims I watched. Thank you so much for sharing the exact event that occurred during this typhoon
I saw in the news pets are coming with their owners on the plane, it's a nice thing to know these people who decide to leave Siargao for a while really bring their pets with them and I hope that you bring Poppy with you as well whenever you decide to do so.
Siargao will rise stronger. The spirit of resilience is a great thing we can learn from. Praying you guys for your safety. It’s just a matter of time. Everything would be fine
You've enjoyed the beauty and seen the best of Siargao, its landscape, scenery, beaches, food and most of all the Filipino hospitality its loving and welcoming happy people. You and your family was embraced by its people. Sadly Siargao is on its knees due to the recent typhoon. Hope you all stay and help rebuild the island to its former beauty. Take care and stay safe all of you. 🌹
I hope all of you... including Poppy have found a safe place to be and have a plan. I'm like you... I couldn't leave my pet(s) behind... because they are part of my family.
Jay, it's OKAY, We as Filipino always look at things in positive ways, no matter how many time's mother nature hit us, we always managed to smile and laugh. Tree's will grow, clean up will happen, just remember to look at life differently now. Stay Strong guys!
We were all so relieved when we saw you guys' faces on her channel. There's a lot of us that watch your vlogs daily, it's literally part of our daily ritual. You guys are our extended online family and we were worried for you and your families abroad who had no clue . I had a feeling you would be ok but with the devastation, you can't be sure. We've watched that drive many times and to see bare bones of what once was. It's a lot to comprehend!
It warms my heart that you said that you can't leave your dog behind. Animals suffer most in tragedies like this and most pet owners just leave their pets and most of them just die because they can't survive in the wild coz they were already domesticated
Appreciated both of you for having these footage/ documentaries of Siargao after the Storm; despite the terrible experience. I am from Cebu City which also experienced Odette (Rai), and in Lapulapu City when the Storm hit us head- on too. It is worthy to note too, that neither Siargao nor Cebu City had experienced Typhoons strongest as Odette or Yolanda, not in my lifetime. I lived for almost 2 years in Siargao Island when I worked as a Nurse in Sta Monica Municipal Hospital back in '91 to '93, I was one of the Pioneer Nurses when the small hospital was opened albeit I came from Cebu City, I missed Siargao, and longing to find out out the situations too although we in Cebu also were hit, badly too. I experienced 2 typhoons when I was there in Siargao Circa early 90; but not really so destructive as this, this is 10- fold to the just normal typhoons that passed it often too, as it is at the belly of the Pacific Ocean on the right. When I was there, no Surfing yet and the feeling of the Island was like Philippines Circa 70 although it was 90 already. Yet I was glad hearing Siargao has progressed much recently; yet sad now that Typhoons now also becomes huge and catastrophic. I missed Siargao, yet sad I see her on this situation now. Nevertheless, yes I always believe on the resiliency of its people, and to rise above against all odds. Thanks for your Blog, my profound appreciation.
I had to pause. The town is the PEOPLE. As long as the happy islanders and people like you who love it are there, the island will continue to thrive. I wish I didn't have to say this but I have a growing dread that there will be people who will take advantage of the destruction Odette has left on the island. To the people there, please be steadfast in protecting your paradise. Please don't let the greed of the those who have money take away your paradise and I hope with all hope I can summon that you will rise again, strong and filled with joy despite what has happened. Prayers to all of you!

You will survive….with your family…you will survive. It takes time…and courage and resilience and patience. Nature will make itself beautiful and strong once again…and you will evolve and recover along with nature and the world around you. You are man enough to be human and that’s a super power.
I admire you from not leaving the island inspite of everything bad about it now.. this means you have a spirit and commitment that no matter what happens you will stick around, stick to the place and with other people around you all these times, who will still be there. Its not the end of Siargao and of everything, we Filipinos are reselient and we stick with each other and help each other stand up. Siargao will bounce back.

That's the struggle of Filipinos during rainy seasons here in the Philippines and you've experienced it yourselves. Thanks you for letting the world know how hard it is during catastrophe here. Remember there's a rainbow always after the rain.. Take care and God bless.
@@woodpeckery she's just saying that in general. The rainy season brings either a lot of rain or a disastrous rain in the PI. Read her whole comment.. It's got the word catastrophe in there.. how many times we've been visited with number one's type of disastrous typhoon/hurricane? 2 or 3? No matter. All we can do now since we keep having this type of disasters is to always 🙏🙏🙏 and be prepared.
@@rdc1431... I read the entire comment and she implied by it that the Rainy Season is a catastrophic time of year. Every tropical storm does not result in a disaster, and only a very few affect heavily populated areas with much more than some local flooding and a strong wind. Sustained winds over 350 kph, sometimes reaching even 400 kph, are very rare. This was a Category 5 Typhoon 🌬️🌀💦 And, such a storm happens only once, maybe twice, during the lifetime of most filipinos. It's not what they experience every year... otherwise, they would probably build better shelters to live in, rather than simply patching up things time after time with plywood and other cheap materials.
You have a beautiful 5 year old child to save and protect. If you decide to leave and seek shelter somewhere else for the time being, please know that we will still be here. Afterall, even the Filipinos in the island are doing that now - so, why should other people expect you to stay?! Personally, my own family’s safety will be my top priority. No drinking water? That is a real issue because that’s already a fight for survival. Ingat (take care).
Please be resilient and strong in times like these. It is a reality here in the Philippines when typhoons hit certain areas you could expect widespread devastation.

I love that you love your puppy, I would never be able to leave mine behind either. They are family. God Bless you guys, you are in my prayers. I live in the USA in the state of Idaho and all I saw on the news about what happened in the Philippines was a small ticker tape going across the screen and no one said anything and no videos about the devastation there. It said how many died and how many displaced, but that was it. It seems all they want to talk about is that darn virus over and over. So I went on my computer to do a search for what happened there and I am so glad I found your videos on RUclips, where I can see what is happening and so glad your little family is going to be ok. Your baby girl is so Precious, just as you all are. The only thing I have read on CNN news is that the United Nations has promised more than $100 million in aid. I hope and pray they get the help you all need as soon as possible. I will probably keep watching your updates on RUclips. God Bless this Precious family.
Growing up in the Philippines with all storms plowing through it made me tough, it is always devastating to see people struggle through it all especially with all their losses. I do know though that Filipino's are very resilient, they just dust off and rebuild & move on with life smiling.

Every year my grandma's roof always tore off so every year we have to rebuild it but now we used a more durable materials not just for the roofings but also the entire house, we install a more durable windows with grills ( window guard / protection ), a more stable roof and less wood materials, my grandma is always happy because the storm changes the landscape the geography, after the destruction it will become a new different but still beautiful scenery, its an everchanging scenery thats why my grandma loves it because its not always the same not just the siargao but the whole phillipine island is an everchanging landscape, the volcano will destroy and then creates something new, the storm will destroy and then creates something new, its like the geography is transforming every year and thats the best part ..

I feel so bad to see the devastation done by the typhoon. And now it is so hard to make a decision on where to go. Dumaguete City is a small little city that you can also think of going there. Vloggers like Finn Snow and Critter Hunter lives there. I have a small rustic 1 bedroom cottage to stay for free on the beach in a private location or a friend of mine had a better bungalow to rent.
The sad thing is that it's only through YT that we hear about what kind of damage the hurricane has brought to that part of the Philippines. This is really tragic but still there are lots of things to thank God. Sometimes we have to think like those children. They know when to weep and to stop and smile again. @UCNO5jB9KtfaE-1UPYInroMQ Ultimately, anyone's safety is the most important. Anyone can also help in other ways and even in little ways. Actions doesn't always have to be big. Let's normalize that.
Im praying for all of you right now and I know that Siargao will recover and rise again. It is just a matter of time. Life must go on. May God bless you all.
Yeah, praying doesn't really help them though. It just makes you feel better without actually doing anything constructive.
@@ChillinDylan First off all I am Filipino. I see some of your comments and you are very opinionated. This is not the time to criticize someone's comment. Do your part, help, stop the negative vibes here. And I dont need to explain to anyone here what type of help I did. Im currently in Canada and I did my part, no need to tell you what and how. If you have nothing good to say, just keep it to yourself.
@@ChillinDylan we're Christian Nation🙏
@@ChillinDylan don't say prayer doesn't work. You're one of the answer!
Praying works when all strength, knowledge is gone. Then pray, God will restore your again and able to think and constructively as what you've suggested.

Siargao will recover, the people there will rebuild and the beauty will return. It will take time and the work of the whole community. Your family can be a part of the recovery and the joy it will bring.
Mate, I don't think it's the best option to leave your place behind. The moment you reach Manila, you'll be thinking of your home and will keep thinking of coming back. People survive if they stick together and help each other. I know you guys can do this, but ultimately whatever decisions you make. I know you chose what's best for your Family. God bless Guys, and stay safe.
@@senseiquickbooks4588 when it is a struggle to get even the basic necessities in life with a child in tow during a pandemic at that, wouldn’t you really take the chance to get out if you can? My goodness, it was really difficult watching this vlog. Sending love and light to you guys and all the people on the island. Whether you decide to stay on the island or leave to another city is entirely your decision, you do whats best for your family, your mental health and your wellbeing. In the meantime, just help the locals out as much as possible and we'll all be supporting you. All the best❤
Yeah!!!were here still hoping you guys get well soon ❤️❤️❤️
I saw in the news pets are coming with their owners on the plane, it's a nice thing to know these people who decide to leave Siargao for a while really bring their pets with them and I hope that you bring Poppy with you as well whenever you decide to do so.
Wow that is wonderful!!!!
Grateful your alive and that you did not abandon your beautiful dog. Material thjngs can be replaced but your live cant
You can recover from this mate. We will support you as you rebuild. That would be an awesome thing to watch.
Someone said in the comment they now in Davao. It would be awesome to watch them find new vegan restaurants and coffee shops!
I think finding any kind of food would be an achievement right now if they can't find vegan food then so be it.
What’s heart breaking after the storm is, anyone who has an option to leave can leave. And the others? Life goes on
I'm so glad to see you all in good health! Sending prayers to you all
thabks god all of you are safe thatd all mstters

All your vlog with all the beautiful scenery of Siargao will be a memory now 😥, a treasure 🙁
Exactly 💯
salute sayo.. totoo to.. be brave and be possitive always..
I love how innocent Story is from what is happening around her, just smiling at the back. Kids are angels ❤️
My prayers to all Affected by the typhoon Rai... Ofw here full support for this lovely family stay strong J,Sacha, Story and Poppy
I been praying for the people of the Philippines affected with this calamity. And I been asking about any news about you guys. Talking to nelly other vloggers.Luckily your safe . Remember God is still there with you guys watching. Unfortunately in New York I haven’t heard any news about this huge calamity in the Philippines. I saw ATE vlog. Her place is destroyed too. Take care guys
Always ,plants were the first to recover. When new leaves come out it lift your spirit. Keep the faith.
Many vloggers are helping out, your friends in Siargao & many vloggers are sharing their vlogs letting the supporters & the world know that you're safe. I assumed your family in Europe reached out to these vlogs. Most important is that you survived & Safe. Things will be quite slow in recovery but Filipinos are very resilient, learned lessons and will find means to make Siargao rise again. God Bless this adorable family & the rest of Families that were affected.
Thank you for sharing so glad your safe 🙏❤️🌹
You will survive….with your family…you will survive. It takes time…and courage and resilience and patience. Nature will make itself beautiful and strong once again…and you will evolve and recover along with nature and the world around you. You are man enough to be human and that’s a super power.
I admire you from not leaving the island inspite of everything bad about it now.. this
means you have a spirit and commitment that no matter what happens you will stick around, stick to the place and with other people around you all these times, who will still be there.
Its not the end of Siargao and of everything, we Filipinos are reselient and we stick with each other and help each other stand up. Siargao will bounce back.
You need to stay and help with all the rebuilding and raise funds via RUclips. You will muddle through together and become part of a strong community. Sending love and hope for a bright future.
Thank you guys for helping some of the locals and Thank God you guys are ok including Poppy. Please guys stay don’t leave Poppy behind specially what happened on the Island she’ll be lost. If I were you I would stay just for her and sacrifice everything just to be with her because pets are just like family to me i’m an animal lover but of course you got Story to think about too. If it’s me I’ll stay and help the communities to rebuild.
God will make a way for all your survival! Just keep the faith... Bounce back higher. You can make it!

That's the struggle of Filipinos during rainy seasons here in the Philippines and you've experienced it yourselves. Thanks you for letting the world know how hard it is during catastrophe here. Remember there's a rainbow always after the rain.. Take care and God bless.
Don't try to say this is merely what the rainy season is like in the Philippines or any other place... so ridiculous to suggest such a thing!
The sky is so beautiful white and blue crystal clear.
Hoping for speedy recovery to all the people affected by Odette super typhoon.
My heart could not take the sight of the devastation in Siargo. Im crying 😭😭😭😭😭 May God give His outstreched hand to feed His people.
I'm happy to see you guys stay strong guys we love you guys and godbless ur family always
I’m from Luzon! Not as exotic as Siargao I feel for you guys! We pray for your safety! God speed!!
Hello beautiful family. Please, don't be afraid that your families does or doesn't know if you are alive???
If they watch your videos on internet....they know that you are all safe and alive.
And if some of your families watched your videos they certainly told your families.
I'm praying for you...
May God help you all in your devastated Philippines.
I agree! The think is they can not read the comments!😪
While watching your videos I could not control my tears. Devastated the whole island. Thank God you are all safe. I have read so many people asking your whereabouts.
I am a new subscriber since i saw what happened to you Guys.We are praying that everything’s gonna be alright, some videos from yr ago wanted to see it and I discovered how great your family, esp. when I saw your adorable daughter since she was born and your dog Eden ,a simple Family, contented for being what u have and i learned lot from you Guys.Don’t worry,Filipino are resilient, everyone giving hand n hand,For what happened is so devastating but I think lots of people will help each other.God bless everyone.❤️
If there's one thing im proud of being a filipino, its the resiliency of the filipino spirit..we can all learn something from it..
It's time to rebuild a better, more fortified Siargao. You guys can play a huge part in that, if you're willing... Though I wouldn't blame you if you decide to move on. The process is too overwhelming. Take care guys.

I was also in tears watching this video. I agree with you that staying in Siargao is the best as it seems you have purpose in staying. You can help in your own way to help Siargao rise again and also you can posts videos of Siargao moving forward. I hope that your families in Europe are watching your videos in youtube and will know that you are all safe.

Praise GOD ..May the LORD continue to keep you..
Omg..your daughter is very smart and cute!.. God bless your family! Keep safe!
So happy to see your family 8 miles that you are all safe especially Story. We continue to pray for your safety.
I'm not skipping ads from the very first video you did about Odette just like I do to support you guys

Stay strong guys, Storey is just a blessing. I’ve seen the beauty of Siargao and the devastation is clearly documented in your video. Filipino’s are so resilient and take everything in their stride. Your video when the window blew in was amazing, gripping even and your pain is honest and touching. Gob bless you.

My heart goes out to you, your fam, and everyone going thru hardship right now because of the typhoon. If people thought Yolanda was mismanaged, Odette is even worse. Thank you for letting the world see what is really going on there.
The video was shot just 4 days po passed typhoon so i think it was too premature to conclude that odette was far mismanaged over yolanda. Mas madami po casualties sa yolanda. Help was already sent after this video was shot. The mere fact that they can now post videos means power was restored perhaps and siargao is slowly recovering 🙏🙏🙏

I just want to share my experience being a Haiyan/Yolanda survivor. In the afternoon, of Nov 8, 2013 when i went out of the house i saw people passing by out place bringing dead people wrapped in mats, witn a 1 to 2 minutes interval. We were located about a few hundred meters from the shoreline, yet stormsurge was about 7 feet inside our house.
Please don't leave poppy...No one will take care of the beautiful furbaby...everything will be okay in the island in the coming days... Godbless you Eight Miles.
Stay strong my friend, God is good and He will provide everything that is needed without us knowing it. Stay safe.
The sad thing is that it's only through YT that we hear about what kind of damage the hurricane has brought to that part of the Philippines. We have sporadic communication with our families in Southern Leyte and money centers are not functional either because of power lines being down so we can't send money to them yet. It's a big mess but I thank you for keeping us connected and providing us a glimpse of the situation. Be strong guys and hang in there. Praying for you all every day.
May the good Lord, bless this family, and the people of siargao.
Praying for you guys and that you’ll know what to do….Siargao will recover 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 so glad your family is safe. Xxx
This is really tragic but still there are lots of things to thank God. Sometimes we have to think like those children. They know when to weep and to stop and smile again. Anyone heard of Story saying “enough of that!” These things will pass. God has sustained us during the storm and he get us through it. We just need to be still and keep tha faith. God bless us all.
So glad that you are safe. Together y’all will rebuild the community 🙏🏽

I believed they already contacted their families in Europe. These are delayed videos, a day by day documentary of what had transpired after the typhoon. This video is Day 4 after the typhoon and it is already been 2 weeks since it landed in Siargao.
They will watch you tube like we do too!
May our merciful God helps you to survive .Do'nt loss hope,God will provide and He will be with you all the way through.God bless your family.
