  • Many people believe our days of Arafah and Eid are linked to Hajj, and must be observed on the same days as the pilgrims in Makkah...
    But is that even true?

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “May his nose be rubbed in the dust, one in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me.” Narrated and classed as hasan by at-Tirmidhi (3545); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan at-Tirmidhi.
It was narrated from al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me.” Narrated and classed as hasan by at-Tirmidhi (3546); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan at-Tirmidhi.

Assallam Great Video and so clear..
    ما شاء لله
Hopefully any sane person will understand this.
    Sunnah is so easy.
Also can i add the people who have 'Biddah' in their every sentence are Deviating from a Clear Instruction from the prophet "to sight the moon and do eid". The prophet said "Sight" the Moon.
So all i can say is to them using so called "Technology" (i.e. Only using a calculated Calendar and disregarding the sunnah of sighting the moon out right) is BIDDAH.
not normally my sentence but hay ho.

    • @sidrahasad9942

Walaikum assalam. Using the so-called 'technology' isn't bid'ah, atleast not in the Shariah. The definition of bid'ah in Sharia is 'inventing or adding anything new to the religious matters that was not known or practiced at the time of the Prophet sallalahu alaihi wassallam and His Companions radiallahu anhuma.'

As for those who are following the Hanafi school, then relying upon the numerous moonsightings from outside of the UK, the 10th of Zul-Hijja is on Sunday the 11th of August.
Even Ahmad Raza Khan Brailvi conveyed in Fatawa Rizviya volume 10, pg 446-447: The correct and reliable saying in the Hanafi Mazhab is that if sightings are received from other parts of the world, no matter how far the distance, then they are RELIED UPON. Thus the sighting of the new moon in the East is relied upon by those in the West and vice-versa.
ہمارے ائمہ مذہب صحیح معتمد میں دربارہ رمضان وعید فاصلہ بلاد کا اصلاً اعتبار نہیں، مشرق کی رؤیت مغرب والوں پر حجت ہے وبالعکس

Yes there are masjids in yorkshire that go by the testimonies of morocco, south africa and other countries, rather than by local sightings.
It is valid to go by either one, local or global sightings.

Your claim that its been done like this for many years is not a proof for you, if some people do something wrong for many years, it doesnt make it permissible.
Your claim that you need to go by the nearest Muslim country is now differing from your original claim of local sightings and is not the stance of Shaykh Ahmad Raza Khan Brelvi.
If you follow moonsighting.com and royal observatory, you will find that they use calculations to see whether the moon is visible and this is against the explicit hadeeth in which the prophet alayhisalaam tells us not to use calculations to deternine the start and end of a month. These websites have made mistakes in the past which can be seen on their archive section, in which they mention that even though our calculations say you cant see the moon, it may still be visible on a cloudy day.
I advise you learn the rules from trustworthy and reliable sources, inshaAllaah so that we can be successful in the hereafter.

Where is the proof that eid began in 2nd Hijri ? Hajj (pilgrimage) was in existence even during Ibrahim (as) way before the prophet (saw) but he just wasn’t able to do it as openly till the 9th year due to it not being safe for him. Until primary source evidences are shown for these dates, these cannot be proved as truth.

Anyone who can't say peace be upon him after the mention of the Prophet should immediately alarm you as a person of limited knowledge... also fasting the day of Arafat has hadith and references from the Prophet SAW, you gave no references for the end of argument and alot of misinformation and misguidance. Just pure division of the Ummah, how do local moon sighter perform hajj? (Ramadan is understandable but not hajj rituals timings when the day is given clearly in hadith and its virtues.

Shocked. These scholars should know that the Day of Arafat cannot be changed, no matter where you are in the world. It is always on one specific Day and is not moon dependent. This is, unfortunately, very shallow "scholarship".
