    Looks like the PA 72 area and Lebanon. I used to calibrate the instrumentation at the Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant.
    Route 322 becomes the Hershey Highway once you're west of Lebanon.
    You were 50 miles from Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania.

    Rode from Dallas to Phoenix in April but I rented a SG for that. I couldn't imagine riding my sporty for that whole time. The most I'll do is a few hundred miles on it - especially since almost everyone else I ride with has touring bikles.

    Do you get a lot of swaying at 80-85? I’ve been riding my 1200 for about two weeks and I feel all over the place, only 3100 miles on the bike. I even have a fairing & windshield..

    • @spaceflight1019
      @spaceflight1019 2 года назад +1

      I've been on a 2005 1200 Roadster since new and yes, they are sensitive to truck wakes and crosswinds once you get over 75 or so. The Roadster has a tach, and 65 equals 3000 rpm. Every 5mph equals 250 rpm.

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  2 года назад

      I dont really have any problems at 80-85 i feel like the bike and rpms really level out there. Never had wobble. Big trucks give you some wind but just be aware

      @@TheMotoJawn speed just kills the gas mileage though. Too bad that your Harley shop friend couldn't let you borrow a new 975 Nightster for the trip.

    Dude, that Sportster handled all those miles like a champ, that bike is a gem. Did you feel beat up afterwards or were you comfortable?

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  2 года назад +1

      I was little beat up after the last stretch of highway on the way home. A windy day at 80 85 mph was tough

      Make sure that you check your oil level. Sportster engines tend to consume more oil at sustained high speeds. It's actually a warning in the owners manual.

    • @TheMotoJawn
      @TheMotoJawn  Год назад

      I would say a little over 100 miles per tank when traveling. Could probably be a little more but I usually fill up at 100ish. Ran out at 130 before

      I knew I blew it when you turned North on 15. You could have saved a bunch of turnpike time. Slower, but nicer ride. Have you ever driven through Valley Forge? Also, I’m looking to take a ride to the Harley dealership in the Poconos during Indian Summer. Need to see this cool looking place. Check it out.

    • @spaceflight1019
      @spaceflight1019 2 года назад +1

      It's harder than it looks, plus the speed limits west of the Mississippi are at least 80. While the Sportster will do it, it feels busy and becomes more sensitive to truck wakes and crosswinds.
