In fact, most of the people who visit that shop wouldn't do a battle with me... kinda stupid
Such people associate the Tau with Communists, and the decades of McCarthyism and anticommunist propaganda in countries like the US and Great Britain brainwashed many into believing that anything that is even remotely referencing Communsts in the good light is somehow "tainted". It's weird how they would be okay with playing as the blood-thirsty maniacs of Chaos, or the BDMS-fanatics of Dark Eldars, but when something looks like China or Vietnam, they would instantly be "OHH NOO SO BAD I DON'T WANT TO PLAY WITH YOU". Literally kindergarden behavior.
My 1980's Squat army maintains mining operations in Tau space, after they were, by their way of thinking abandoned by the Imperium, a broken accord to the Squat mindset is the worst of treacheries and has cost the Imperium a stout ally with access to untold Dark Age technology. While earning for itself a chapter in The Book of Grudges. The Tau appreciate the knowledge and skill the Squats bring and have benefited greatly from the arrangement and leave them to what they do best.
Your army will find kindred spirit in the Tarellians, a species that was nearly victim of genocide by the Imperium and came to join the T'au Empire as mercenaries.
You truly do the best Tau videos. They remind me every time on why I play the Tau. Though they are often insulted for being a naive and weak race, I feel the exact opposite. Cawl is a glorified weapons manufacturer and he only cares about turning everyone into sexless cyborgs. Meanwhile the tau actively repairing and enhancing the human genome, have terraformed entire solar systems into utopias, keep the majority of the human population under their wing out of harms way from the galactic conflict, humans can live a fulfilling life under the tau, recieve a formal education under the tau. I will say that guilliman is a paragon of the imperium. Without him the imperium would have surely fallen. Hey, thanks for making these videos. It's great to just sit back and listen to all the stories of the various factions and races in Warhammer. I've been on a 3 day marathon with your channel. Cheers my dude, hope you keep it up.
There are worlds like our own or better within the imperium. The hive worlds and the supper oppressive planets are not how the entirety of the imperium works. There are bright spots in the grim dark future. The Tau also will just take over and kill anyone who doesn’t convert. They don’t truly respect your free will.
I find life under the Tau Empire as awesome. If a Human refused to worship the Emperor of Man and the Chaos Gods in the same time, he or she would be eager to be part of the greater Good imposed by the Tau
I think the natural evolution of the Tau Empire should include A. The incorporation of melee combat training for the Fire Caste (if Fatesight can swing it so can the rest). B. Either evolving Tau psycers, or using Zeno psycers. And C. Learning more about Chaos, but using the knowledge as motivation at raise to a Imperium of Man level of a bullwork against Chaos.
Will Higgins and then they would be the Eldar lol. The whole opportunity got the T’au, from a lore AND a modelling perspective, is the incorporation of Allies and mercenaries. THATS why they’re different
The tau are probably the nicest faction in 40K but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't stand a chance against the full force of chaos or thetyranids if they ever did actually manage to usurp the Imperium
@thekangarooboxer What are the other options though? Being a slave to the fucked genocidal madhouse that is the Imperium? Joining Chaos getting arse-raped with razor blades for fun? Relative to those options I'll take the Tau.
@thekangarooboxer Being their "pet" is just an ideology. Living in 40k ideologies don't mean anything. the only thing that matters is suffering as little as possible. and in the Tau empire, you can not only NOT suffer, but you can thrive. Doesn't matter if you are labelled a pet or not. This is what 40k fans seem to struggle to understand. You'll even hear kids rave on about how the Tau is "communist". Like I said, ideologies don't mean anything. Weather Tau is capitalist, socialist, communist, etc... is completely irrelevant in 40k standards. The only thing that matters is... how would your life and your family's life be in the Tau compared to where you are now. and if you are a bottom feeder on some hive world, then yeah... your life would be 1000x times better in the Tau. Even if you have to participate in a war. You are WAY better off in Tau gear than Imperial guard gear. and unlike in the imperium, the Tau do not kidnap kids to join the fire caste. Being a human auxiliary in the Tau fire cast is completely voluntary. And if you do decide to volunteer in the fire caste, trust me... wielding an advanced plasma rifle in Tau battle armor is WAY better than a little plastic lasgun and the cardboard armor that the imperium gives you.
By process of elimination, the Tau Empire are the closest thing to the "nice guys". But since Farsight and his followers broke away, its clear that the Ethereals have a nefarious hidden agenda. Maybe being a human in the Farsight Enclaves would be the most ideal situation.
@@robwalsh9843 Not correct. Farsight breaking away is no indication of any nefarious intentions from ethereals. He could have as likely broke away because he now feels that he should be the leader, or that he can be more powerful doing things his own way. It's also possible that an ethereal dying on his watch made him lose his sanity and break away, or it could be that he was mind controlled and now mentally free, or it could be that he was inspired by ethereals and willing to do anything for them, but later changed his mind and decided to be loyal to only himself. Point is, breaking away is not an "automatic" indicator of anything unless it is later revealed that it was in fact, nefarious actions by ethereals that led to him breaking away.

once when i was a Magos Dominus of the adeptus mechanicus i thought about joining the Tau due to them allowing greater degree of freedom on what kind of technology to research and developed but then when the Cicatrix Maledictum have isolated a great many forge worlds and my Explorator Fleet was turn into a Reclamation Fleet by order the lord of Mars. Reclamation Fleet mission now is to reestablish contact with these isolated forge worlds and if necessary deploy the skitarii legions and the knights of House Taranis to remind the forge world of there allegiance to Mars. one such forge world sadly did not comply with the authority of Mars and my Reclamation Fleet was force to remind the Fabricator General of who is in charge. thanks to my actions and by decree of the Lord of Mars i was inducted as the new Fabricator General. with this new rank and a forge world of my own i found the offer of the Tau to be less appealing now given if i had join them in there greater good i may have to start all over again in climbing the ranks plus i don't want to relinquish my faith in the cult mechanicus and that of the omnissiah.
@@Kodiac its not all good news. with the forces of the Nachmud Gauntlet's demand for war material ever increasing my time is ever getting shorter in conducting my own research and finding new STCs. i even have to diverge my forces and some of the knights and commit them into the Nachmud Gauntlet in order to keep the vital link between Imperium Nihilus and Imperium Sanctus open which leave my forge world defenses weaken and with the word of the Necron's silent king return . this dark times truly test one's faith.

I feel like the tau could really become strong if they would start to send human missionaries to imperial worlds proclaiming the greater good and organising uprisings which would be helped with tau produced weapons.
0:13 t'au astartes, nice concept, in my headcanon the empire of Man suffered a defeat so catastrophic that guilliman had to ask to the t'au empire if they accepted His human survivors, and the t'au not only does but also provide him with a high-tech armor(he would be however dumbfouded that they only gave him ranged weapons and no power sword)
I would love if they added a planet of humans who would go full T'au worship and decided that if th T'au gave them freedom, hapiness, and long lives, then they were worthy of humanity giving up their freedom, hapiness, and lives for the T'au Empire and dedicating themselves to thsi task and this tak only. The T'au would probably be a bit disturbed.
Well, I've been a tau player since 08, and I have recently bought iron hands and haven't painted em yet. I believe I have paint ideal no. TY for that. lol
One curious thing I would like to be explored is the fact humans can naturally live twice and with technology, thrice as long as the average Tau. Leading to a situation where the average assimilated human population has more experience with Tau culture and philosophy than the Tau do. While the Tau are the least racist race around, there is of course only so far a human can rise in their cast-based hierarchy. Ironic to think on a scenario where the humans grow dissatisfied with Tau over-lordship, but not The Greater Good and seek to establish a truly equal and egalitarian inter-species empire.
The Tau really should have been annihilated during the Diomocules Crusade. Even if they survived they would have probably not been able to do the shenanigans the get up to.
Mind control (because apparently a race isnt allowed to simply want to create a better world to live in for everyone) potential aside, the Tau seem to create some pretty damn nice planets where people live in peace. Not that they are the only ones in the Galaxy to do that, but certainly the only major faction to do it

I like the Tau, but I honestly cannot understand how their lore makes sense. Given the new lore retcon, Tau have no FTL drives. They use sub-light "near c" ZFR Horizon Engines. This means that their society can't really exist, as it would take ages just to travel from 1 star system to another inside Tau space, much less anywhere outside the Empire. Unless all the Tau worlds are within spitting distance of each other, their society wouldn't be able to function. Trade would be impossible. Self-defense would be impossible. Conquering other worlds that can be reinforced would be impossible. In Farsight: Crisis of Faith, it is said that the Tau took more like six months to cross the Damocles Gulf and reach the Enclave Worlds. Tau ships are so slow, they have large stasis chambers for the crew where everyone sleeps on the trip there. How does the Tau defend itself from any race with FTL drives? Every race, even the orks, could just attack anywhere at any time with impunity and by the time the Tau reinforced the planet, the war would be over. Entire plot points of Tau reinforcing attacked worlds just can't be true. Even if Tau could reach speed of light travel, it would still take too long to get anywhere. This is what bothers me. The writers of 40k make no effort to be internally, logically consistent in their writing to the point where it literally breaks immersion. They need to ditch the new lore and just go back to the old gravitic engine that was FTL or the Tau are just unworkable.
I suppose they plan out the trade routes with such efficiency that they do their best to make up for the time. When it comes to massive assaults on their worlds they expect minor issues of a handful of ships to be dealt with by the PDFs or stalled long enough for the real troops to arrive, conquering an entire planet can't be that quick and the communications they use have to be rather fast from my understanding. I agree that they need to revise their weird slip drive tech, don't make it as fast as FTL travel but better than the nonsense they have now.
@@tinylegofiend8605 Yep. As of 6th edition. They got something called a ZFR Horizon Accelerator Drive now. Just propels the ship to a high fraction of the speed of light. Given what we know of the scale of the cosmos and interstellar distances, it would take years at even light speed to reach the nearest star, much less have an empire stretching dozens of stars. Every world would effectively be on its own, totally isolated. By the time Tau respond to an attack on a planet, years will have gone by. The new lore was unnecessarily and rendered the Tau totally impotent. I call it the Zero Sense Drive. The writers clearly do not understand the scale of the universe. They must think the distance between stars is like going into town to pick up some groceries. They took functional lore and actually intentionally made it worse.
@@Racistobama Inability to understand the scale of space, probably. It's the same reason why in the old star wars EU, a fleet of 100 ships was seen as "instrumental" when you're dealing with powers that span an entire galaxy. Very bizarre logic that makes the lore hilarious.
It's much more oppressive than I thought. But at least it's not genocide, more like pragmatical villainy, without unnecessary cruelty. Very machiavellian
I would like too point out that actual GW canon does not mention or support the claim that " tau sterilize humans " " The only mention of sterilization is the Tau victory for Dark Crusade. This makes it a bit dubious since the Dawn of War games are not considered to be entirely canon, especially the first game. Additionally, the canon victors of Dark Crusade are not the Tau, making it even less likely to be canon. The Lexicanum page on Gue'vesa specifically mention that the original Gue'vesa have descendants who become enthusiastic supporters of the Greater Good, so no sterilization there. Overall it's possible and something the Tau would probably do, but it is not really mentioned anywhere in the lore except a non-canon ending to Dark Crusade." Also for the people who say the tau are communists, I highly recommend you learn the definition and do some indepth research. Because I dont think some of you ACTUALLY know what it is.
Not sure how much human territory they control but for comparison, the Imperium holds over 1,000,000 worlds while the T'au only have around 100. They largely only exist because the Imperium are busy fighting actual threats.
There is something that just hit me and why some fans will refuse adamantly to see the T'au Empire as anything but (also) evil. Even if we see the T'au Empire as some kind of aliens coalition like in other works of fiction (you know which)... the notion of ANOTHER specie being at the top of the government just seems wrong. Humans aren't the leading force of the government or in an equal measure? Humans are being oppressed! (even though we are just in the same spot of generic fictional alien race in those settings. Our egos just won't allow such a thing).
so to recap 40k factions we have, a technologically stunted death cult of xenophobic fascists, a literall endless swarm of mindless and very hungry bugs, a race of sentient and highly aggressive fungus, a race of snobby elfs who consistently belive their better than everyone and almost got the universe killed and rather than make up for it let everyone else deal with it, the same elves but horny and extremely sadistic, a group of tired and annoyed skeletons, and highly advanced communists, DID I MISS ANYONE

I really hope in the new codex to come there are far more Tau auxiliary options

They are the only ones in the universe willing to reach out their hand to the rabid dogs of the Imperium. Knowing that they will bite back, but also knowing that their ways are fundamentally better for all sentient species in the galaxy. Tell me the Tau are the true heroes of the Galaxy. Every world that they touch becomes a Utopia, the populace is happy, the greatest Minds in technology thrive, and everything that they do is for the betterment of all. For the greater good! Keep up the amazing videos! You guys are ballers!

Humanity FIRST!!!
The tau science and progress is nothing, through the adeptus mechanicus, Cawl, and Guilleman humanity is revitalized, traitors to your race, all of you.
Humans rule.
Rrreeeeeeeeeeeee
@@NotooInteresting I disagree. Humanity doesn't even care about humanity. The imperium routinely genocides entire human populations. The common citizen is a glorified slave with no hope of advancement or achievement in life. Your children are born in tubes and spat out like cattle. If you're lucky. Otherwise you are sterilized and butchered for organs once you die from exhaustion, in chemical factory. And that the salamanders are the only chapter that seeks to protect, preserve, and cares deeply for their fellow man.
Hey, thanks for making these videos. It's great to just sit back and listen to all the stories of the various factions and races in Warhammer. I've been on a 3 day marathon with your channel. Cheers my dude, hope you keep it up.
“The Warhammer 40k universe is one you would not want to live in”
Not if I’m living with the Tau.
There are worlds like our own or better within the imperium. The hive worlds and the supper oppressive planets are not how the entirety of the imperium works. There are bright spots in the grim dark future. The Tau also will just take over and kill anyone who doesn’t convert. They don’t truly respect your free will.
Reading verbatim from the fandom wiki. Give them credit!
I find life under the Tau Empire as awesome. If a Human refused to worship the Emperor of Man and the Chaos Gods in the same time, he or she would be eager to be part of the greater Good imposed by the Tau
Im thinking....... Fish market ! Is using human helpers For the greater good ?
I think the natural evolution of the Tau Empire should include A. The incorporation of melee combat training for the Fire Caste (if Fatesight can swing it so can the rest). B. Either evolving Tau psycers, or using Zeno psycers. And C. Learning more about Chaos, but using the knowledge as motivation at raise to a Imperium of Man level of a bullwork against Chaos.
One option is to try and recover daot stc unit which would give them even more broken technology which the admech could ever dream of.
@@robwalsh9843 True but come on what faction in 40k doesn't have a hidden agenda?!
Point is, breaking away is not an "automatic" indicator of anything unless it is later revealed that it was in fact, nefarious actions by ethereals that led to him breaking away.
arch did a good video on how they take over as well, he even made the point that the humans are slightly better off in the imperium then with the tau

once when i was a Magos Dominus of the adeptus mechanicus i thought about joining the Tau due to them allowing greater degree of freedom on what kind of technology to research and developed but then when the Cicatrix Maledictum have isolated a great many forge worlds and my Explorator Fleet was turn into a Reclamation Fleet by order the lord of Mars.
Well said brother

I feel like the tau could really become strong if they would start to send human missionaries to imperial worlds proclaiming the greater good and organising uprisings which would be helped with tau produced weapons.
0:13 t'au astartes, nice concept, in my headcanon the empire of Man suffered a defeat so catastrophic that guilliman had to ask to the t'au empire if they accepted His human survivors, and the t'au not only does but also provide him with a high-tech armor(he would be however dumbfouded that they only gave him ranged weapons and no power sword)
2:51 So hang on... You're telling me the T'au are better genestealer cults... Than the actual genestealer cults?
I would love if they added a planet of humans who would go full T'au worship and decided that if th T'au gave them freedom, hapiness, and long lives, then they were worthy of humanity giving up their freedom, hapiness, and lives for the T'au Empire and dedicating themselves to thsi task and this tak only.
The T'au would probably be a bit disturbed.

No pain, and you’ll be screaming for mercy once their painless education begins.

The Tau really should have been annihilated during the Diomocules Crusade. Even if they survived they would have probably not been able to do the shenanigans the get up to.
The Imperium tried, it failed horribly. If you want them to succeed, you're asking the Imperium to ask for Tzeentch's help.
Human apart of the tau greatest form of heresy
Not a fan of the Tau, but this was interesting and cool.👍
Mind control (because apparently a race isnt allowed to simply want to create a better world to live in for everyone) potential aside, the Tau seem to create some pretty damn nice planets where people live in peace. Not that they are the only ones in the Galaxy to do that, but certainly the only major faction to do it
Are there any tau astartes?

Glory for The Emperor! Glory for The Imperium of Man!
They retconed the small warp drives or whatever that let them dive into the warp then jump back out?
Yep. An unforgivable and inexplicable retconn. No idea what prompted such stupidity.
@@Racistobama Inability to understand the scale of space, probably. It's the same reason why in the old star wars EU, a fleet of 100 ships was seen as "instrumental" when you're dealing with powers that span an entire galaxy. Very bizarre logic that makes the lore hilarious.
I want a link to that pic in review screen

sooo, tell us about the first race joining Tau and "the greater good"...
this should be a playable army is the human tau regiment
I would like too point out that actual GW canon does not mention or support the claim that " tau sterilize humans "
" The only mention of sterilization is the Tau victory for Dark Crusade.
Overall it's possible and something the Tau would probably do, but it is not really mentioned anywhere in the lore except a non-canon ending to Dark Crusade."
Also for the people who say the tau are communists, I highly recommend you learn the definition and do some indepth research. Because I dont think some of you ACTUALLY know what it is.
It's almost like being an Eldar Farseer. The games and their endings present the various skeins of fate and what could have potentially been.
