I think sparsh's performance was best ..the girls characters were highlight of the movie so its easier for them to be in people's brain but sparsh just paved the spotlight for himself specially the " i love you " scene thats really scene of the year ..how naturally he did and expressed ao many emotions with his eyes..even aamir specially mentioned him separately for how talented he is ..and kiran rao called him " one take actor " in behind the scenes of the love

I’ve watched this movie twice in 2 days. I absolutely LOVED it! Such a beautiful, calm, brilliant piece of art! But I have something to say - these movies either talk about how women in rural areas are not educated, don’t take their husband’s name or it’s the small town girl- big dreams thing etc.,. OR they talk about sexual and physical abuse endured by women (like in Highway), when the story is set in an urban setting. But there’s a topic that I feel NOBODY talks about, which is - “how women and girls in so-called urban, educated families are put down subtly”. They’re sent to school, they’re sent to college, they’re sent abroad, they go to work, they go out with friends, they’re NOT sexually abused by anybody. On the surface, it looks like they’re given the same treatment as their male siblings are given. Their lives look perfect. But the truth is that, most girls are not given the same treatment as their male siblings are, be it in a poor/rural/illiterate family or a rich/urban/highly educated one. For example, my own mom would do this to me - when I’m in a meeting, she interrupts me and when my brother is in a meeting, she shushes everyone. And she’s a professor. She’s not even the illiterate kind who doesn’t understand these things. I wonder if people even notice that. Only the daughter facing it understands it, perhaps. Very subtle bad treatment. VERY VERY subtle. And this is mostly done by women, biological moms! It’s not even like step moms do that. I don’t know if some movie has been made on this or not. If there’s no such movie, one should be made, I opine.
You’re right. I’ve been thinking the same. The film “The Great Indian Kitchen” comes very close to what you’re looking for. It’s a South Indian film and it’s brilliant.

I just finished watching this movie. Let me tell you, the film has managed to capture a theme that has probably never been told this way. A woman's sacrifice in playing the role of a wife, and a mother where she loses dreams along with her identity had never been told in such a moving story. Its also about sympathy and kindness where two fates meet and change everyone involved. A solid must watch for everyone. This should win national awards
Just watched the movie....love the plot...love the script...the simple background of the story line...humor...love in family...kindness in character....this movie was soo simple yet touched every corner of our heart....loved all the actors...amazing acting by everyone.....never for 1sec felt they were acting...the acting was soo genuine.....

The title of the movie is " Lapata Ladies " Which means lost ladies but the main message behind this title is " The things and the freedom missing in women ". As we can see that jaya was eager to study about organic farming but this society didn't allowed her , phool was a good cook and she want to do something rather than just staying in home as a homemaker , bablu's mother was a good artist but her art got vanished after her marriage , Deepak's mother has lost her choices like her favourite food , Manju mai (one of best character according to me ) she had to survive alone just because she was brave lady and had guts to left her family . And one more deep message from this masterpiece is " Love doesn't need ages Even two days are enough" .❤❤

But this one ( laapta ladies ) depicts more of the incidents which are just absurds in the society followed by people since a long time ago in a world of infatuation ( blind trust )
So this is basically tells about make purity which give you comfort, which is better for you
You shouldn't follow the orthodox ( each and every which are not necessary just leave them )
And my conclusion about the movie ::----
It tells the more you become advance the less you will feel purity, the less you will feel reality, humanity , morality
Basic things make you a complete person
It also tells about modernity means not showing vulgarity it's all about developing your skills..............
I think purity had been decreasing rapidly
There is nothing could be seen in metropolitan cities, urban areas ( very few percent of people are there who has purity in soul )
The scenario for villages was good but not up to the mark in recent time

1. The welcome band was so good at playing songs.
2. The acting of each actor was jaw dropping and everything brought smiling on my face.
3. The most important thing I noticed and loved was that how people were so helpful for both the ladies. I really want that in reality also if women are in trouble people should help them. Also women should understand what man go through.
4. The SAJNI song is so beautiful ❤️.
5. And the innocence of movie just melted my heart.

Laapataa Ladies is really beautiful, brilliant and outstanding movie with such real and touching emotions and humourous dialogues and hilarious scenes in the movie. Storyline is really interesting with important message on how woman should get respect and treated in respectful manner and in dialogue writing is main highlight of the movie really brilliant it will relate and make you think twice and screenplay was really perfect no over dramatic anywhere just simple problem finish simple solution was like screenplay just outstanding, direction by Kiran Rao was really brilliant where Vangaa shocks Kiran Rao rocks 😆😂. Performance by Pratibha Ratna was really impressive, suprising,brilliant and outstanding as Pushpa Rani urf Jaya the way she performed it doesn't look it's her debut film and she deserves best debut female award 💖💯 and Nitanshi Goel was really brilliant and outstanding in her role as Phool and she and pratibha performed the way they both deserve best debut female award 🥺💖 , Sparsh Shrivastav as Deepak was really outstanding and authentic in his role, Ravi kishan as Daroga Manoharji was really outstanding and brilliantly suprise you in Both hilarious scene and serious scene in the climax. Performance by Chhaya kadam as daadi maai , Geeta Agarwal, etc supporting cast was really brilliant and outstanding in the movie. Music and songs are really heart touching and beautiful 😍❤️ especially Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal song. Laapataa Ladies underperformed at the box office and this movie deserves success at the box office and now in Netflix it will be more appreciated and loved by people after all it's Mr perfectionist Aamir Khan production film and he only choose to produce content wise no one man nor one woman show in the movie no mass khachra masala. His every production film are worth to watch in repeated value. You can watch laapataa Ladies with your family really they will love it. No gaali galoch in movie like we had in dhobi ghat , delhi belly and Peepli live.
