While I can see where you come from, I love the bits you dislike, when he just bombards you with sounds, random clips on the internet, tangents, beat switches. He just does whatever the f he wants and I really appreciate that, it feels organic and lively, and all those amalgamations still combine into a really unique soundscape that is his own imo. At the end of the day, I just think his shit slaps, lol

To add sum context, according to peggy he made 89 songs for this album (just because he was born 1989 lol) and every beat wasnt edited at all. So basically the reason some of the endings feel extremely abrupt or all over the place is because these beats are all one takes besides the deluxe version of Basic Bitch Tear Gas and Post Verified Life Style. Its not for everyone but i think the scattered feeling of the album adds to it. Have a good easter bro🤘🏼
a lot of people think what makes peggy hard to get into is how "weird" his sound is, but i actually think its how GOOD he can have a song be and then just completely pull the rug on underneath your feet and in the middle of that hard ass track, or that beautiful chrous boom just some weird ass drums or talking noises. I personally love it but i can easily see how annoying it is to people. Love his music
On the directors cut of this album, for the No Scrubs cover, the intro guitar is like 2x longer and has drums and 808s. Wish it was on streaming it’s beautiful 😢
To me the concept around this album is that we're in the studio with them as it's getting made (also ties in with the rollout he did) that's why it has all those talking breaks, the type beat songs as interludes, you caught how the last song kinda wraps back into the intro it's an endless experience. Of course his songs are abrasive and weird, confusing but you kinda just gotta enjoy the parts for what they are before he switches and goes in a different direction I think those intros are important still for setting a soundscape that flows through the whole thing. Jesus forgive me, Free the frail, rap grow old and basicbitchteargas are my standouts. He actually has a few cover songs like that you should check out his Call me maybe cover.

PLEASE DO EP2! It's by far one of his most underrated projects, it's short and sweet and very cohesive. Songs like Kaltec and Feed Her are some of his best gems. If you like Peggy's slower, more melodic stuff I think it'd be a perfect fit for you.

if he did everything by the book and made or missed every shot as expected (like you would want jordan poole to), there would be nothing that makes him special or memorable. he's by far one of the most skilled producers that's out there today so you can trust that he intentionally placed everything he wanted to where he wanted it. his music in the past clearly is intentional in making the listener uncomfortable, and those off-key moments are the things that really make this whole thing mesh as an album for me it's not meant to just be pop single after pop single, those interludes are the glue to this album that he's said in interviews is 'the most JPEGMAFIA' album he's made, every part of this album sits perfectly as it is for me. obviously people have different tastes though, and i'm glad you liked the majority of it
Favorite thing about his production is the insane amount of replay value. Just little things with the mixing that you might not pick up and grasp first listen. Does it with the vocals too. Peggy rocks. His live performances are definitely intense. He has toned it down since the Veteran/AMHAC days but he always brings the energy. His HTBAR series on YT is dope too some “freestyles” over other producers beats like 2nd Childhood from Nas and Preemo. Also just some of his random beats.
You have got to listen to the ghost pop tape bro (do not touch the remaster). It is personally the most real peggy has been to us emotionally and a lot of ethereal soul touching beats
Ngl, you should DEFINITELY listen to Black Ben Carson & EP! If you haven’t already. Those are both my fav projects of his discography at the moment, and I think you’d fs love the vibe of both

I disagree with your Jordan Poole comparison. Mainly because first of all music is subjective, so when you might like something’s or maybe everything that artist do, but with basketball, everything is objective since everything relies on how you perform and how many points you score. So with JPEGMAFIA, I personally like every bit of thing he does. As you said before you might not like some parts of the songs he make, some other people may like it. At the end of the day music is totally subjective.
Yandhi is amazing. I prefer it to most ye's albums. But an unofficial album is unfortunately... unofficial, there are versions that are way worse than others, they come and go, weird mixes, etc. It's a whole rabbit hole. And if you react to it, there will definitely be people saying "this the wrong version, you should have listened to this to that", if you are fine with that, sure
