Eternals got 4 sets with all 9 character getting a minifig. Black panther got 5 sets including the 4+ set and the $350 Chadwick Boseman tribute, with 11 different minifigs. But Ant-Man which is the start of the next big bad in the mcu get 1 set with 0 minifigs. Weird choices on what gets attention

Lego's mindset probably is. Cos it's a small character he gets a small amount of sets. Trust me when I say that is probably Lego's logic. That and he's only had one set each time for his prior two films lol. It's probably a tradition they came up with for the character back then. Thinking one set is safer cos he's a lesser known therefore won't be as popular character. How wrong were Lego. Antman is one of my top tier Avengers and now he's kicking off Phase 5 in a cool big way lol

I wish we were getting an actual set but I still really like this. I think this is the best constraction set just because it makes so much sense and gives older fans a reason to buy it, as giant man. I felt similarly for venom since he can grow himself to large sizes and whatever.
i think the issue is with the movie being pulled forward so they didn't have the time to get the set out in time similar to the marvel legends figure not being released until the summer, hopefully this means there's more sets on the horizon just that they aren't ready to be shown yet

This is a wasted opportunity on Lego's part. I'm not saying it's right but when Lego doesn't offer minifigures of popular characters, you understand why some collectors turn to unofficial minifigure brands to fill the gap.

In my opinion it’s not bad just disappointing. If they had made another set that gave us actual minifigures for this version of Antman and the Wasp then this set would probably not seem as bad

I still have high hopes they'll make more sets with all the characters with new molds and everything's perfect. I'm expecting those later this vear or next year like with the new NWH set. I only say this because the scale of this movie is much much bigger than what everyone thinks and it makes sense that they'll make more. Probably after the movie is out due to spoilers like everyone's saying
I actually love these character builds, and the use of it to replicate Gi-ant Man is pretty cool. Also, it just looks really good! Might get it, we’ll see…

The truth is that I liked the construction of the Antman figure a lot, but what I did not like at all was the issue of how they made the helmet, they could reuse the same construction of the langman head from Civil War and there would have been better

It’s actually pretty much a duplicate of one of the main scenes in the movie
The LEGO set isn’t bad it just not really that interesting for me. Personally, I just want to see a LEGO comic version of the Wasp because I love her.
I think these types of sets are really good for kids, especially when most standard figures have such poor articulation. Not so good for adult fans, but great for kids
With the May 1st release date, it sounds like Lego had this to coincide with the original July release date, and just didn’t move the set for whatever reason.
It’s also likely that much like Endgame and No Way Home, the set designers were probably not given much to work with for Merchandising.
It was switched nearly 2 years ago. LEGO might not have even began to work on this set at that point.
@@Ashnflash A quick google search tells me that the release date were switched last August between the Marvels and Antman, because Antman was farther into post production than the Marvels was.
Hasbro also revealed their normal pre movie wave last week, but said the wave wouldn’t be on store shelve until May. Their wave also is half movie and half comics figures, with the only figs being Antman, Wasp, Kang, and a giant Cassie build a figure.
Funky churns out Pops like crazy, and they were probably given much later info when they started their pops much later in production. They have different quality standards and simpler designs than either and action figure or building blocks company.
Ya I guess the thread I was reading was wrong. Turns out it was April 2022. Still more than enough time to get it ready.
Think of the Child for Star Wars and how quickly they rushed to get those sets out. Here they would already have a concept and build probably finalized. They’d just need to get it into production sooner.
Plus that allows them to stop production of the Marvels set(s) and just work on this
@@Ashnflash yeah, but toys companies were not told about Grogu ahead of time to have merch ready for the show’s debut. They rushed to get product to meet demand and make money. What was a casualty of that? People bitched about the Razor Crest cargo hold being empty. Same with them rushing Mando’s new craft, there were stability issues pointed out.
They can’t just stop production on one set to primarily focus on another, that’s not how a business is conducted, especially a toy company, they can’t afford to stop production if they want to have product done and fully stocked and ready prior to a films release.
You’re a LAN representative man, surely you would have asked designers you’ve interviewed about this? Or are you just taking a few specific examples and assuming the whole industry works that way?
It amazes me that despite the fact that these buildable figures have performed poorly in the past, LEGO will constantly come back to them. But won't try to revive Bionicle again nor will they touch the more obscure sides of themes like Star Wars or Superheroes
Considering I never got the chance to get the previous two Ant Man sets, I would've really wanted this to be a minifigure set. I'm hyped for this but I'm also definitely kinda disappointed we're not even getting a Kang figure or something

I have a theory. If we look at the past all micro figure of ant man got there minifigure version. Since there is a wasp one I think that we could see her minifigure in a future set. Maybe they will do like doctor strange and do another set this summer

Maybe Marvel secretly has an additional say in the production of certain lego sets. Maybe Marvel wants things to go a certain way/schedule for their MCU sets. I refuse to believe that this is happening because of ignorance, something else has be going on.

I completely agree. It’s Outrageous that LEGO keeps doing this to Ant-Man. Especially for His Biggest Movie, Which is also The Start Of Phase 5. It’s really unfair that Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 is getting 3 Sets and they’re releasing a Month before The Movie and before This Set for a Movie that’s supposed to come out in February. This is so awful.
I really really really Hope they do at least one more Set that had Scott, Hope, Cassie and Kang. And If they don’t, Man did they miss out.
I'll be honest, originally I was disappointed with this set. However now seeing it, I actually am ok with it cause this will make a more accurate Giant Man scale wise to big figures for my collection plus a micro figure of Wasp means I can do her and Ant Man tiny now. I will say wasted potential still because it should've been an actual set or several sets rather than just this. Those are my thought AshnFlash, so do I dislike it, not quite for my purpose to use it but it's silly this is all we'll get for Quantumania.
I'mma get it just for the microfig, but I'm still gonna replace that head with my old Gian Man head, that just doesn't look right to me 💀

Im pretty sure the build a figure is not the same as the quantumania set....none of the others has been representative of a specific movie and that would mean we would get know monofigures from the movie
OK, this constructible character made by Lego actually seems pretty cool because, unlike some of the others for me, it is cause not only is it a good build but it's supposed to also be Giant Man too. The wasp microfigure seems pretty cool, too. The only thing I have to nitpick about this is the bottom of the helmet. But other than that, it's pretty great.
I like these buildable figures, but the price for this is odd considering the spiderman ones were only $25
Very disappointing that the only quantamania set is an antman action figure. But at least we get a micro figure wasp and can pretend that it’s a giant man to use in your airport battle, endgame battle, or quantamania if he decides to turn into giant man in the movie
NWH sets are just coming out, I guarantee we're getting Ant Man stuff announced

I lost hope on any new set from that movie and I was surprised that they’re making a new big one. It is why I have high hopes for this movie getting more than one set especially being a huge movie
@@knostrange7995 they’re saying the only nwh set will be the Statue of Libertys head with scaffolding around it and a brick built sandman. It will come with everyone except for the lizard for some reason and its $100 American
@@rodrign007 no I know that but I meant back when NWH was here. Were they excepting this new massive set/was it leaked back then? Otherwise not everything has to be leaked for it to happen. Quantumania is a much bigger movie in the MCU than people expect and surely they’d want to bank on let’s say a $100 version of all the characters in the movie? It’s a smart choice that could very well happen after the movie is out to avoid spoilers as well
I imagine now that they've made that print for her, we'll see that Wasp again eventually. The Ant-Man one ended up in a few sets eventually after all. If not you'll get two in the set so it might not be as hard to find as some things are
I think it’s a good stand in for Giant Man which I do like, but I do wish there was at least a mini fig or something
The one thing is missing it is next LEGO Quantumania sets like places and minifigures like Stature/Cassie Lang, Wasp/Hope Van Dyne, Kang the Conqueror/ Nathaniel Richards, M.O.D.O.K. and Kang's army to getting name on LEGO Quantumania sets will be revealed and coming soon shall be released on Summer.

If they make a real Quantumania set 🤞 and it follows the Ant-Man set trend of having three minifigs, then I hope that those are Ant-Man, Wasp, and Stature because Kang being the next Thanos means that he’s bound to get a minifig somewhere down the line anyway. For a villain, they can just do Modok as the main build.

man, what a lame this will be the Quantumania set.... but also i'm exited by it's an incredible "new" version of giant man. But this is not correct anyway. There is a way to send a card to lego saying how dissapointed we, the consumers, are so upset?? I mean, the perfect set is obviusly the kang chair and modok, with antman, wasp and kang minifigure... C'mon, is not so hard
Not a bad build, but I'm sad because there goes my hopes for a Kathryn Newton Cassie minifigure.
I mean we can pretend it's Giant Man if we just imagine it. Plus kind of cool it's a Micro Wasp.
This is just an extra pieces set for me. The main draw is the micro figure for the wasp. There better be another set for this, but with actual Minifigures. Then again, we will never know.
I’ve said this elsewhere, but it’s not necessarily a bad set, it’s just the lack of minifigures that brings this set down miles… it’s just such a confusing and poor decision by Lego.

Lego bases these sets of concept art given to them from marvel meaning marvel didn’t want to reveal anything major ab the film to go into the sets, we saw the same thing with the no way home wave and now we are getting spoiler sets
I don’t know about that. Marvel themselves have been showing Kang and MODOK from near day 1.
At least this buildable figure is SORTA actually in the movie.
My 4 and 6 year old love these buildable figures and will be excited about more coming out, just like they’re excited about every marvel mech that comes out. My point it, it’s not all about the AFOL’s and what we want.
So disappointing....they had one last chance to make a great or even good Ant Man set, and they blew it!

They switched release dates for The Marvels and Quantamania, so it was going to come out close to the summer

I just hope to find a small set or a polybag with antman minifigure with the proper movie-accurate helmet in near future. This one could at least pretend to play as giant antman, at least I'm not bothered by that. But what does bother me is that this construction figure's head looks more like a gas mask.

Boo!!! I’m fine with them making a buildable antman figure, that’s cool-but as a replace for the ONLY SET WE WILL GET FOR THIS TYPE OF MOVIE is horrible!!! I like the prints, I like the inaccurate to the minifigure version of the wasp in micro scale, but because the set is coming out when the movie is on dvd and doesn’t even have a minifigure version of antman in it, I don’t think I’ll be buying this set day one, if at all. Come on Lego, do the right thing, this isn’t it chief .

It’s probably the same problem as endgame. They could make sets with figures but they wouldn’t be even close to movie accurate. But I agree I would’ve preferred the latter.
Really disappointed that they won't make any more Quantumania sets.. It was a great opportunity for new collectors to have Ant-Man and Wasp Minifigures, since right now is almost impossible to get them in my country :/ also Marvel loves to kill the villains, so MODOK will probably die in this movie and we'll never get a MCU figure for him
It actually does seem like a Giant-Man, but a different version of Giant-Man, and it doesn't even look horrible with the exception of the front of the mask looking too big at some angles. The disappointing parts are obviously no minifigures, and how did LEGO mess up so badly that a whole movie wave of sets for a movie in May releases a month before its move (GOTG 3) and this set?! The stupidest thing I have ever heard, and this is even worse than the other two LEGO Ant-Man sets, which I liked, but wanted more of. Now, we need more because we have nothing for this movie in reality. Stupid and frustrating, but at least we know what it looks like now?
Add to the confusion on what Lego is doing with sets based on Marvel movies is the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is May 5 (revealed in the trailer last night). So the sets based on Guardians of the Galaxy 3 come BEFORE the movie, yet the one set based on Antman and the Wasp Quantumania, a buildable figure nobody asked for, comes months after that movie. Makes no sense.
I probably will get this eventually because I never bought the Civil War LEGO set with the Giant Man. Imagine if they made a large version of Giganta from DC Comics.
I’m really glad we’re finally getting a Wasp microfigure. That’s it. I have no other good things to say about this. Most disappointing Marvel wave possibly ever. Even worse than Endgame (who knew that was possible)

Ik it's late but there also should've been a poly bag with Cassie and a brickhead of M.O.D.O.K and another poly bag with kang and a poly bag for antman and the wasp or just a set with some of them and some of the people in the quantum realm
As a DC fan who wanted Black Adam, The Suicide Squad, Shazam, Birds of Prey sets (direct or loose tie ins)

I'm pleased we're getting more of the large figures, but I'm a bit disappointed that they're still using the same head piece (still hoping they change it for the rest of them, at least Batman and Wolverine). The shoulders look the same too, I was hoping they'd be improved. Still neat.
I didn't like the Spider-Man buildable figures, but I loved Iron Man. And I can't wait to get Ant-Man. I hope that Lego releases more of these sets. I'd love to see a Sentinel.
I feel like (or I’m just “hoping”) there might be another set later down the line, but they haven’t revealed it yet because it might contain spoilers for the movie. Sort of like getting a spiderman nwh set over a year late. Just wishful thinking though
This feels so disappointing, I feel like they’re missing out on an awesome opportunity to make an Ant-Man (and Wasp hopefully) in the style of the Harty and Hermione giant mini-figure sets
This might be the worst marvel set we have gotten in years . I would have rather them do another one of those “ huge “ fig like they did in the Civil War airport battle.. than another one of those using the new construct system .. Lego aren’t supposed to be “action figures “ , The Lego min figures are only supposed too move in away that Lego min figures do . This is startling to go in a different direction. I won’t be buying this set … sorry a micro wasp isn’t enough…. Now if the set actually comes with min figures then … I might consider buying it only for the min figures
