    Hey all... I appreciate your support a lot in this episode haha sorry about that! I recorded the intro outro and speed build a while apart... So that explains that. Anyway you guys rock. That is all. Swoop 🦅🦅

    Oh gosh it has been so long since work was quiet enough to watch one of your builds on my lunch break. Nature is healing, Swoop!
    If you enjoy the taiga biome and want to go a bit more modern I wouldn't say no to like ... an ultra swish ski-resort style zoo? Prehistoric Kingdom meets Alpine McMansion? I'm not even kidding, either.
    The kind of thing you get when you google 'modern ski chalet' looks like it would be a really good meld of your build style and the taiga environment (which is obviously the best biome) and would give a great excuse to play with some of the fluffier dino versions.

    You have a way of making concrete buildings look very nice and not plain at all. That inclined entry point for the restaurant is a great idea and it rhymes with the ramp access down into the viewing area.
    Interiors are not my favourite either, but what goes a long way is creating interesting walls, maybe having it part wood or with lintels around all the windows.
    Happy to see you building this habitat, can you show us what's left of the view from the mammoth observation deck?

    • @swoopthere
      @swoopthere  2 года назад +2

      Hey newage! I’ll happily show you the view in the next couple of eps ☺️ that’s a great idea for the interior thanks for the suggestion I hadn’t thought of that! 🦅

    I know this is an old video but I'm new to your channel (amazing work btw) and I don't want to sound redundant if someone has already commented this but the genus smilodon was only doing in North and South America, other sabercats such as homotherium and machairodus were doing throughout Europe and Asia though!

      @swoopthere  2 года назад +1

  • @RabidicusNollis

    Regarding smilodon being related to cats, they are true cats! They just aren't in the same group as MODERN cats. Modern true cats are divided into two groups, the felines felinae(small cats like bobcats, house cats, lynx, cougars etx) and the panthers pantherinae(big cats like lions, tigers, jaguar, etc). Smilodon belonged to a third group of true cat, the machairodonts(Saber toothed cats), which are now wholly extinct!
    They also weren't the only top predator; while they did occupy the top of the food chain, they competed in their range against the equally large ancient lions like the American lion and the Eurasian cave lion! There were also the Running bears, a group of short faced long legged bears that were much more predatory than today's omnivorous types.

    • @swoopthere
      @swoopthere  2 года назад +3

      Hey Michael! Thanks for your kind comment this is super interesting! I actually didn’t know there were ancient lions like the American and Eurasian! I’ll definitely be looking those up. Swoop 🦅☺️

    • @NewAge374
      @NewAge374 2 года назад +1

      To get an idea of how closely related they are taxonomically speaking, let's make the comparison to mustelids (Mustelidae). This family consists of many subfamilies where otters (Lutrinae) are furthest removed from badgers (Melinae).
      So if you'd seen a Cave Lion (Panthera spelaea) who is a a modern felid, next to a Smilodon you'd definitely be able to tell them apart, mostly because the latter's body build is much more stocky.

    • @RabidicusNollis
      @RabidicusNollis 2 года назад +2

      Yeah, American lions/Eurasian cave lions were basically modern day lions scaled up in size. They were maneless(which we know bc of cave art!)and shaggier, But otherwise identical more or less. And unlike the "sabertoothed tiger", these were ACTUAL lions! They are a sister line/possibly came from the same ancestor as living lions, that spread up into Europe and Asia via the Middle East!
      (Also a fun history fact: lions existed as native predators in Europe up until 400AD!)
      Smilodon have that powerful, unique frame bc their jaws were only 30% as strong as a modern day lions, so their forelimbs were overdeveloped to help them wrestle and grapple prey and keep em still for those teeth to do their work.

      Pretty sure smilodons were built a lot more like a bear than a normal lion or big cat

    Lolll wow I'm early. Really excited for this one! Looking forward to what you do next! Unfortunately my pc's arrival has been delayed, for up to 2 months, because of lockdowns and production delays in China. So I'm, always looking forward to new PK content from you! I've tried finding other youtubers to watch as well, but not many are making sandbox parks, and even less have voices that I can tolerate listening to. I'd LOVE to see a more tropical themed park, doesn't have to be like full blown island paradise, but something that looks based in say Florida in the USA, or Brazil in South America. Some multi-species habitats with dinosaurs from the same area/time period would be cool, especially ones you haven't used already. Dryosaurus, Deinocheirus, Torvosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus to name a few. I think there's great potential for a swamp themed exhibit with the Deinocheirus that I haven't seen anyone properly utilize on YT. Anyway, love your videos and they always make my day when I see you've uploaded a new one! Keep em coming!!

      @swoopthere  2 года назад +2

      Hey Cap! You are too kind. I’m leaning towards tropical for my next project so you might be very happy 😊🦅 shame about your comp! Glad my voice is tolerable haha personally I find it jarring but the grass is always greener! 🦅

      @@swoopthere Looking forward to seeing what you choose! And that's honestly so important loll. You could be the best park builder out there, but if your voice sounds like you smoke a pack of cigs a day, or you make no effort in pronouncing the names of the animals you're building enclosures for I'm not going to watch loll. Like it takes 1 Google search and maybe 5 minutes to learn how to say the name of a dinosaur, idk why so many youtubers absolutely refuse to do it lmaoo. Really random btw but the instrumental you chose for the speed build reminds me SO much of Owl City's "Hello Seattle" which is sooooo nostalgic for me loll.

    I think humanity will cure every disability when we can resurrect dinosaurs with genetic technology.
    So I don't think you need to build ramps every time in PK😁
    By the way, you have built an amazing building again! i've made several two stories building but using basement like this is quite brilliant I think. And I love those ferns so much as well.

    Comment to the Free roaming mammoths: They are Mammoths but in heart they are Free roaming Kittys. They get out everytime and want to be free XD To bad that they would die later when the Game evolves fourther. Famous Sabertooth cats on europe are Homotherium they are strong builded relatives who are also very cool :D and some speciemen also discovered in Germany
