  • GROUND LAUNCH SMALL DIAMETER BOMB
What is the big deal with this missile ?
The M26 rocket motor is relatively abundant, and this GBU-39 costs about $40,000 a piece.
    While this M31 G M L R S missile cost $110,000 a piece.
And most importantly, The range of the GLSDB is around 81 miles or 130 km, which is double the range of this M31 Missiles, that has a range of only 43.5 miles or 70 Km
Which was also used by both the HIMARS and his Multiple Launch Rocket System as animated in our recent video.
Besides it’s low cost ! it has the ability to fire six missile all at once.
And most importantly it can hit at any angle giving it a strike capability over the conventional Artillery guns.
This include the reverse slopes of any mountains just like the animation shown here .
It’s 360 degree gives it an edge as it could engage the enemy from every angle.
This helps the marines to engage the enemy,in battle situation even if they are flanked from the right, left, front, and back.

i feel the more you produce content i hope the more accurate it becomes. already great improvements. I hope this channel turns into one closer to trusted analyst than a normal media that repeats facts that are misled and 5 years out of date. BTW, in one of your videos about the SU-57, there was lots of comments stating thanks for your unbais, because nearly all western annalists depicted the SU-57 as bad compared to western jets, or at least thats what the commentors felt. Now, while that video was great, I do feel that it is because you didn't incude its downsides, such as its not really a steath fighter but a low observability fighter, at a radar crossection ( what the radar sees) of 0.1 to 0.5, compared to F-35 crossection of 0.005 .However I do appreciate that you weren't one of those media companies that put clickbait titles saying it to be invincible.

The SDB has Inertial Navigation System backup so if GPS is jammed it will still perform well just at a small increase in CEP (circular error probability). Only the newer SDB GBU-53 has additional laser targeting. It has laser, milometer wave radar, Infrared & GPS/INS.

One problem... the GLRMS for the HIMARS now has a long range version that is already phasing out the older version. That is one of the reasons we sent so many to Ukraine. The new ones have a 150km range and cost about the same. Second the only reason we had those boosters is the were old leftovers. I do not think they even make them. Plus this is an older version of the SDB. The new one is the GBU-53/B Stormbreaker. The best part about this is 2 can fit in place of a 1000 pound JDAM or similar size missile. They actually had to round the nose cone to make 23 fit properly. 90% of what we send to Ukraine is old phased out stuff or surplus left over from the middle east.

Rumors are that these are in Ukraine now. I'm hopeful that they make a big impact (literally and figuratively). Great range, accurate, and a 250 lb bomb. These weapons need to prove themselves fast, because cheap drones appear to be the future. Because you could buy a dozen of those cardboard drones for the cost of one of these bombs. The cardboard drones have a similar range but have the advantage of being able to loiter and pick out targets real-time (yes the bomb is much smaller, but it may be possible to drop the bomb and re-use the drone).

the newer versions equiped with sensors to hit moving targets was priced at 250k$ in 2014
I find it hard to believe they cost anywhere close to the 40k mark
The LRLAP was also meant to cost 20k$ and it ended up costing 800-900k, more than 40 times the price. The LRLAP was very similar, a long rocket booster with a gps guided projectile.

Are we sure about the warhead section? The SDB by default comes with a needle like hardened steel cased penetrator warhead with a case weight of 150lbs and a filler weight of 50lbs. Other variants are also available, such as the "LEO" Lethality Enhanced Ordnance warhead similar in design to the M31A1 Alternative Warhead, in addition a low collateral damage carbon fibre cased Dense Inert Metal Explosive warhead is available. Seems unlikely they would switch out the warhead just for the GLSDB as this would increase costs, the SDB's used being off-the-shelf items instead of new products.

FYI these weapons are typically both GPS/INS guided. Depending on the block type. They use the same type of ring-laser gyroscope technology airliners and spacecraft use for navigation. GPS is preferred for accuracy, as gyros can drift in flight and take time to 'spin-up' and align, but even if the GPS signal is lost entirely (for whatever reason), the weapon will still guide to the target within a very* slightly higher margin of error. Providing laser guidance to a weapon like the GBSDB would be very context-dependent. The party doing the actual lasing would have to be emitting on the same code ('pattern') that the weapon's seeker is programmed to look for. A scenario like that would typically require pre-planning (for practicality), but it wouldn't necessarily have to. In any case, the person with the laser and the person fireing the weapon, have to be using the same 4-digit code. Sorry if I come off as a 'purist', but I'd hate to see these incredible weapons sold short. No GPS? No laser? No big deal.

Can you guys please look into the topic: why modern frigates and warships are so lightly armed and even more newer ones have lesser CIWS especially the frigates. Make a video on this topic if possible. Thanks and wow well done on these

Considering they all carry a huge load of long range missiles, I wouldn't call them "lightly" armed

    • @muhammadhuzaifaazam
      @muhammadhuzaifaazam Год назад

@C A lightly armed to defend itself in a situation if long range aa fails to intercept. I mean why isn't there a good amount of CIWS or very short range missiles if any exist or something like that.
Do the navies of the world have such great confidence in their electronic countermeasures etc? Just look at Tughril frigate or JS Mogami. One CIWS only.

Everything that was shown in Ukraine with weapons from the United States is ineffective, and it’s a shame, all that America gives to Ukraine is old weapons, we have not seen and will not see anything new in 2 years of war, since US weapons are a beautiful candy wrapper.😮
