Battle of the Repackaged Wax Boxes: Round 2

- Episode 41: The Saga Continues! The first shots have been fired as Repacked Wax, Golden Lion, and Classic Wax square off for the crown of the best repackaged baseball card wax packs. We're grading each brand's offerings in a series of categories, including the number of true vintage cards they provide and the big hits they produce.

I would say Auto on the 1975 worth the 2. This is showing that Classic Wax does add more vintage. Repacked Wax adds a lot better HITS! Nice Maz! I still value the BIG HITS a little more.
The '54 Reprint is from a 1994 Topps Archives set. Essentially a 50th Anniversary Set.
Aside from the Mazeroski, that was quite uneventful. Fun to see a lot of cards from my childhood tho

$85.00 for that Golden Lion box of 18 packs..(nearly $5.00 per pack)…and the best you got was a ‘79 Topps Tom Seaver…probably a PSA 7 AT BEST….boy that Lion is totally roaring in uncontrollable laughter about now
some smart person came up with a way to get rid of common cards, insert a few stars/RC/ vintage cards, with the chance of a big hit to hold our intrest and before you know it, no commons left........
Still prefer Repacked Wax of the three competitors for including that Mazeroski!

I don't agree with them putting reprint cards in there, or the Ted Williams ones. Or the K-Mart, etc. I'd prefer Checklists over those, heh heh. But I don't think those belong either! Wow Golden Lion is getting hammered........ A '59 Maz? Yes that is a major hit. I have his '66 and it's listed at $25 or so max in the book. That's why I love Repacked Wax! Nice.

Maz was definitely the best hit from the 3. Very nice centering and the corners looked very sharp! Good idea for a video concept.
I think you accidentally counted the Mazeroski as 1 point, not 3. You also missed what I would call a major hit for classic wax, the 93 Bowman Pettite rookie. It's the next best card in the set behind the Jeter rookie that year. Despite the breakdown giving a clear edge to Classic Wax so far, I think if I were to buy one of these products it would be repacked wax. Classic wax seems to get it's points with a lot of 70's commons and a lot of 90's star base cards, nothing too exciting there. Whereas the points in Repacked Wax seem to be coming mostly from commons or semi stars (in the case of the Maz, for instance) in the 50's and 60's. The vintage seems more vintage, and even though we're in a small sample size, I get the feeling your chances at a 50's or 60's card that books in at say $50 is a lot more likely in Repacked Wax than the other 2. Still one more day though! It's also worth discussing the price points....Repacked has twice as many packs...does that mean it's twice as expensive?

Gavin RC was a nice hit. I like the Sundberg, but that's just because I'm a Rangers fan. Tom Seaver was cool. Any time I pull a Donnie Baseball is a good day for me =). Fun video. Took Golden Lion a while to get going. Thanks for sharing. Max was certainly the best hit of the day.

The vintage cards are great but I'm not a fan of the heratige cards. I do love however the archives!🙂

No it's not all garbage!!! It's the thrill of collecting and, what you can find in these Repacked Products!!! I found a (Original) Michael Jordan Rookie Card one time out of these products!!! Grant you it wasn't in the best condition (PSA 3) but it's still a Jordan Rookie!!! Sometimes people forget what they really have when they make up these products. Just saying!!!!
