Scantastic Andrew :) Seems like a great product and very affordable even for occasional use. I wasn't sure what phone was required and there are no obvious specifications on their website so I downloaded and it installed on my iPhone 8+ so that's a win. Will play with it in due course. Cheers, JAYTEE
Looks good! Great video . I work with 1:18 scale model cars making custom parts and this looks like a real gamechanger! I can’t wait to start using this app for my cars
The reason you had the conical shape on top of the skull is because you didn't have the camera low enough to get a side view of the object, you were only taking a "top down" or "angled top down" view.
Wich iPhone do you use on the vidéo ? I was about to buy iPhone 12 but i just saw the LIDAR Technology on the 12 Pro, do you think i should buy PRO ? Thanks for tour vidéo !
What 3d printer did you use in this? More specifically, what 3d printer would you recommend for someone getting into the hobby? I have real-world stuff I could do with this... namely, making holsters for stuff with attachments, by scanning objects and using them to make molds
This model was printed on a Prusa MK3S. It's tough to recommend a printer without knowing what you want to use it for / budget, but there a LOT of options out there!
I tried Qlone and scanned a part. It looks OK on the Ipad but when I export it to an stl and open it Meshmixer it is terrible. It's so bad it can't be fixed. My Ipad (and iphone) do not have the Lidar feature. Is that the problem?
What I want to see now is you scan the printed skull, then print that model, then scan that, and so on, and see how the shape degrades after many scan and print cycles.
@@AndrewSink Thank you. I am getting a CNC machine and I have items I want it to make but I am overwhelmed by the Aspire and vetric software. If I could scan and then convert to g code that would be great. Can you point me in the direction of any articles on ow this will work?
Hi, i'd like to ask if i can scan something that i don't physically have with me but i have photos of the thing i'd like to 3D print, what can/should I do?
Unfortunately, it seems they got rid of the "free" version and now you have to pay ($19.99) to even download it. As of this writing (May/2023) the reviews are anything but nice with an overall rating of 1.8 stars. That alone is enough to put me off getting it. Too bad, I was really looking forward to trying it after watching this video.
I got the lazy susan on Amazon, here it is: amzn.to/3kqKzih No clue how accurate it will be for hard surface parts that are typically made with CAD, but it's worth a shot!
don't buy this photogramétrie it's free and better i buy this you have a picture 360 ° and when you open on zbrush whaou it s very very bad tell me NO and i make a vidéo
Im a game dev and this was very helpful to get meshes and textures for my games and this way I don't have to use free meshes I find online
Awesome, glad this was helpful!
Wow

Give it a shot, it seems to have pretty wide compatibility with most devices. It’s free to try, so make some scans and see how it goes!
Very interesting, Andrew! Loved the green skull and I liked the scan with the conehead skull💀. You look very handsome with your new haircut, too 😊
Aww, thanks Marty! Erica thought the conehead was hilarious, too!
Do you like Scandy or qlone more to replicate a toy with the better details? Thank you.
New here... I’ve had this app awhile now and never really used it. Your video has piqued my interest again! Cheers and subscribed.
Awesome! It's a lot of fun, good luck with it!

Awesome, sounds like a perfect fit for this workflow!
qlone should use your content - its way much more convincing than theirs 101 content (: subscribed!
Thanks, I really appreciate that! I'll pass the message along to their team!

I'm using the iPhone 11, and it worked great for this app!
Good information and clear, thank you so much for the information
Glad I could help!

Great video! It's good to see you are doing well.
can you do this with human sized models?
You can you just need to print bigger mat, after that need to set proper environement for taking scan and that could be tricky
Cool video. Very informative. Thank you
Thanks!

I’ve got you covered, I did that back in 2015! Going to make a video on it soon, it was a SUPER fun project!

Great Tutorial! Can the scanned file be converted to GCode for a CNC machine?
Gcode: definitely!
For CNC: it depends! The model will be an stl, not a solidbody STEP!

If you have a full set of photos, you could try the iOS app TRNIO!
Thanks you
More tips👍👍👍
Can you export it and use it in Zbrush?
Hello friend, when export do you need internet connection?
Good question! I would assume so, but I didn’t try it!

Is this app still available? I cant seem to find it on the google play store.
I can find it on the appstore so perhaps its only av for apple
My Samsung m51 not support properly 😒
great video! thanks :)
Thanks; glad you liked it!
Want to try this out, especially for the real world parts which look a bit too difficult to model in CAD! Also, where did you get this lazy Susan?

You think it will work if I print a posted size print?
How big is a posted size print?
Sorry, typo. POSTER size
@@djericanthony There’s only one way to find out!
kann die Qualität besser werden?
I think it’s okay, I don’t see any depth in the eyes and nose, it’s not bad let’s put it this way
Agreed!
