Thanks for the upload, I love overanalyzing the politics and ethics of these events. I would argue.
1. The Uchiha resentment over Tobirama's actions was not a misunderstanding. We hear it straight from the horse's mouth that Tobirama mistrusted, and resented the Uchiha.
2. Itachi wasn't torn (Honestly my second least favorite retcon in all of fiction) Itachi could have easily avoided the Uchiha massacre by reporting Shisui's murder, and having Danzo arrested. Instead, Itachi helped hide the crime, and doubled down.
3. Itachi being a spy is... in addition to being an obvious retcon, was one that made no sense, because for all the time we saw him as a member of the Akatsuki, he was an asset to the Akatsuki, and was surprised when Jiraiya had gathered the the most basic information on them.
