    Got one and really enjoying using it , agreed it is quite heavy but not an issue , I like that the air tank is hidden behind the polymer frame , a point that drew me to the gun

    Would love to see a review of the empire XS . Another great video 👍

      Fancied a Mortal but ended up buying an XS as they were available. Was a bit worried about how the XS was grouping initially until I watched this. Same hair trigger as well.

      @@Jones-xx2gc how do you find the xs accuracy wise? And shot count?

      @Airgun Fun With a moderator fitted accuracy was all over the place. Had a look on one of the air gun forums and they have been removing the barrel shroud because the pellets were clipping and fitting the mod straight onto the barrel. Have done this and not too bad now. Have been getting 50 ish shots before topping up. Just waiting for some 4.51 .177 pellets to give them a try.

    It has the potential to be a great rifle for customising and making unique. I would assume that genuine magpul furniture would fit , such as stock and pistol grips, a version in FDE would be interesting.

    I’ve personally tried both the Mortal & Empire XS and for the lower price, the Empire trumps the mortal. Pretty much the same accuracy, the finish and quality of the Empire is spot on and Kral did a brilliant job, making it feel more gun for your hard earned cash! The mortal however… well I wish Kral spent a little more attention to detail. The hand guard is plastic and although lighter than aluminium, it cheapen’s the rifle! The adjustable and foldable AR stock has lots of play in it (well mine did anyway) and also adds to that less than premium feel yet carries a near premium price tag. I was really looking forward to the mortal and having received both the mortal and Empire XS, I was sadly disappointed with the tactical mortal. A good attempt and move by Kral but I personally don’t think it’s quite there, especially when you weigh up what you could purchase instead. Second hand FX Impact for the tactical look, nipping at the heals of the FX Dreamline Lite or for more of a sporter rifle, BSA R10/RTen Regulated. (Awesome gun)
    It’s not a bad rifle, just a tiny bit overpriced considering the other options out there.
    That aside, another great review Neil/Rack 👍🏻

    Did you clean the barrel between changing pellets and then allow 10-20 shots to re lead the barrel ?

    I think you will find that the "shot count" that they state is regarding their full power numbers (.22 has 35J / 25.8Ft-Lb). 18.3J is the power rating for the .177.

    Would love to know the sub 12 ft/lbs shot count in either .177 or .22. Honestly the low shot count is the only thing that put me off these

      Fitted the ridiculous but cool looking Donny FL Fat Boy with the break and extension....cost almost as much as the rifle...lol....but had it on an FX. Looks great and really helps with the load crack the gun makes....mines an FAC one producing 37 joules....just a hammer spring swap-out..but I don't live in the UK anyway. Yes some parts are a bit wobbly...can be fixed... but ...Love it for the price!

    What length is it when it's folded?

  • @MrRockstar1968
    @MrRockstar1968 3 месяца назад

    The shot is the other way around when it's sub 12 ft'lb because .177 need's more velocity to increase the ft'lb energy and the .22 needs less velocity for the ft'lb energy, yet when the rifles are FAC they can increase the .177 and the .22 and the .25 etc up to the max velocity thus making the shot count less on the larger projectile ammunition.

  • @markhomer5704
    @markhomer5704 Год назад +4

    Usually the other way round ( if sub12 ) nevertheless in FAC it turns round and you get less in the larger calibers .. don't know the science , but thats what it is ... apparently

    Shot-count: no, USUALLY it is exactly like the company stated - as the caliber gets bigger, more air is needed to be deployed from the same tank.

      .177 uses more air than .22

    • @DrAgan_tortojed
      @DrAgan_tortojed Год назад +1

      @@racknload Makes no sense. Do yourself a favor and go thru the specs of any PCP gun like Diana Strider, Gamo Coyote, Umarex Gauntlet and you'll see...Think about it this way: the bigger the caliber, the greater the mass of the pellet. With the same air tank, more air is needed to push the pellet to the same energy level. Also, notice the fact that the same model of ANY airgun ALWAYS yields more energy with the version chambered in bigger caliber (.22 yields more energy than .177 version, and the .25 yields more fpe than the .22 version).

  • @TheXaelem

    I don't know man. You kept saying "for the price..." but the price is actually quite high for this low quality product full of Chineese-like plastic.
    Let's be honest here for a second. Kral is just riding the "military trend" and trying to sell you a $400 gun for $700.
