**edit** it's not like the whole entitled men and women thing isn't funny enough, we got men and women who think reality is subjective to feelings and that everyone has to stop and sympathize and "affirm" whatever fantasy that person has... including and especially whe it's against biology and the fact the s*xes are paired, cant have one without the other. Genetic and mental defects aren't applicable and whe you try to force those fantasies into people's lives, you're going to meet resistance and pushing too far will result in much worse.

How ya doin btw? It's kind of funny how I remember telling quite a bit about myself but you never really shared anything about yourself.
If we're gonna play nice in conversation it might be beneficial to give some backstory for why you think certain things instead of just calling everyone who disagrees an incel or a right win extremist, cus that's not how you get anyone who sympathize with whatever the newest trendy plight.

Had 2 friends in our friend group start dating. He was always going on about the kids they would have, even though they’d only been together a short time and she had made it clear she didn’t want kids. He’d just say he had time to talk her into it. She eventually broke up with him for stuff like that. He seriously came to multiple friends a few months later asking if it would be too weird if he “texted her that he was su!c!dal and that it was her fault.” We all told him he would be an asshole if he did that, and we wouldn’t be friends with someone like that. He didn’t say it to her and we all continued to support him while he cried about her for two years. Glad he asked if he should say it to her so we could shut it down and then that he took our advice. I still care about him like he’s my own brother, but never really respected him the same after he suggested what he did.

I think the reason nice guys think they are so good is because they have a nasty view of others, so by comparison they MUST be super nice. On the other hand, nice people see the best in others so always think they could be doing better and being kinder.

Yep, 1 of the first rules any Nice Guy needs to learn is that if you're going to do something sleazy, like saving someone's photos for later self-abuse (as my granddad would call it 😂), then giving that person notice - even if it's for a shallow feint at respect, such as a transparently tokenistic request for permission - only makes it _more_ creepy, not less. You've mentally involved that person against their will. Just --take care of-- mind your own business, & allow them to keep living their life in blissful oblivion.
A conservative thought? Based on self respect and decency? Here? And no one's telling them to end themselves or that they can do what they want and their body their choice? Oh wait, could still be a double standard. Well damnit.

I am soooo glad I was well out of the dating pool before internet dating became a thang! I missed out on all the catfishing, abuse, and general nastiness people word-puke when they're not face to face with actual humans.
12:55 -- Kiwi is a Fischer's lovebird, and his goth wife is a black masked lovebird. I don't know what color mutation Goth Girl has, but she's not the typical brightly-colored birdlet you usually see. And just look at those babies! Aren't they adorable, all cuddled together with their hatchling pinfeathers still showing? We used to have a couple of pairs of lovebirdies -- a number which increased, lovebirds being so... loving -- and they're hilarious critters. And loud! Their voices are completely out of proportion to their size. It was especially hilarious when Spring hit, and we'd open the window near their cages. They'd answer back to the outdoor songbirds and their mating calls. At one time, we had five adults and four babies. The cacophony was incredible! They're great starter birds for someone who wants to find out what keeping parrots is like.

bro the holding the door open post.. i once held the door open for a man and he was silent. i think he glanced at me but i cant remember. now, this isnt too uncommon in regards to men *or* women, but he thanked my DAD for holding the next one. clearly he just hates women 😐😐 you cant expect everyone to say thank you when you hold the door open for them, but what happened to me wasnt just a normal occurrence, he actively ignored who he perceived as a woman and chose to thank a man doing the same thing

the holding doors. yeah, i kinda do get it, appreciation is dead, if im having a shit day, i hold a door open for someone and they say thanks, it feels good, i mean, everyone wants to be useful, so appreciation can go far. And i dont mean just young attractive women, but elderly guys, women with kids etc, or paying for the random kids sweets in front of you in the line etc, but if you just ignore it, it feels even worse, as if you're expected to serve them and dont deserve even a thanks for it. Its a selfish reasoning and sure nothing big, but im referring to bad days where every little inconvenience is like a new stab wound.

Women don't thank or respond to the guy holding the door open because they think (and in most cases are correct) that if they talk to or even make eye contact with the guy, he will take as an invitation to hit on them. I hold the door all the time, I'm thanked much more frequently by men than by women (rarely by women), but I know why so I'm not offended by it. I totally get it. Safety first.

Nice guys are so fun. Had one that was so nice he cyber stalked me and found my home address, family, etc. He started mailing me gifts and even contacted my parents trying to purchase me from them to become his wife. He promised to make me happy and live a good life as a stay at home christian wife and he'd provide many children. Parents told him no and I got a restraining order on him. He couldn't stand it and had his mom contact me instead. I was 16 and he was 27. We had met on a video game and were talking for about a month before this started, just being friends since I had a boyfriend at the time and he knew it.

They can also be like for the early phase after swiping each other, they behave normally and are actually very interesting. Although when they got comfortable like within the first few minutes of decent human interaction they slipped up and creepiness ensued. Okay I love these kinds of stories and so much more I'm a big Reddit lurker what the constant shiting on oh I don't think anyone could ever be too nice I've never met someone who's too nice ya know you definitely probably have it's very common with people with anxiety or who have autism much like myself because I've been told my entire life you're too nice to people and I'm only just now beginning to understand what that really meant it meant that I put everyone else before myself and ended up often hurting my own feelings or myself because people did not value me the way that I valued them that I would put my own plans in the back burner to make sure other people's stuff got done first and then when people didn't show up to my events or I want to hang out with me because they had other plans and things like that I would end up having to cry for hours maybe days months because I didn't understand what I had done wrong cuz I had done everything that you're supposed to do I didn't complain about my own life I listened I gave good criticisms I complimented people I spent all of my money trying to make sure that they were happy because I wanted to make sure they wanted to hang out with me it is a very serious problem to be too nice and let yourself be walked all over and I've quite literally had to go through therapy to try and fix it

Each and every one of these responses is completely normal. If you do something nice because you expect something in return, even if it's just a "Thank you", you're not actually nice. Strangers don't owe you an interaction because YOU decided to do something you deem nice.
