    What antifreeze are you using? Orange Aluminum safe or Subaru Blue? I'll eventually have a 98 JA truck, when it finally ships.

    Kevin, can I ask you where the release lever for the fuel cover is located (that's for the Sambar truck models that don't have a keyed fuel cover)?
    I haven't found any information posted about where to find it. I've seen the service manual schematics showing the part number, but the exploded view doesn't show the actual location of the lever.
    My 1994 Subaru Sambar Supercharged gets delivered next week and I'd like to avoid the "Where's Waldo" exercise at the docks when I pick it up. The fuel gauge pointed almost empty when I test drove it a couple of weeks ago. I doubt that the dealer filled the tank since then. The truck might be running on fumes by now.

      so right below the shifter is a pull tab to release the fuel door. definitely fill it up immediately! try not to drive it on empty. if you can, pre fill cans to put in the tank. the tanks get full of rust and can suck into the fuel system when it gets low like that :(

      @1dash133 Год назад

      @@OhKeiGarage Thank you, I'll look for it around the shifter.
      And thanks for the tip about rust. I was planning on bringing one gallon of gas with me to the dock, but I'll bring a 2-gallon container instead. Pre-mixed with Stabil 360 gas treatment like you recommended in another video! 😇
      BTW, what are your thoughts on gas choice for running the Supercharged? In my area, the choices are regular gas (87 octane), premium gas (92 octane), or ethanol-free (89 octane). From what I've read of owners' comments, most people use either the premium or the ethanol-free gas for their supercharged motors.

    • @OhKeiGarage
      @OhKeiGarage  Год назад

      @@1dash133 I just always recommend the non e gas and 89 should be fine. You can always run the high octane every once in awhile too. If you run 89 it might help keep engine temps down a little too.

    Do you have spacers/adapters to avoid rubbing with the 205/50/15?

    Any reason you don't own a Subaru Domingo? It would seem to be a no brainer to opt for a much bigger engine than what is available in the Sambar. Is it the Domingo's 3 cylinder configuration or the slightly more difficult engine maintenance access? Any cons to the Domingo that you are aware of?

    • @OhKeiGarage
      @OhKeiGarage  11 месяцев назад

      Well for starters, it's not a kei van :( I like the kei class just being small and small engine since I don't freeway these things ever. Honestly I don't like the way the Domingo's look. Not bashing anyone for owning it, I just don't like the way the bumpers are. The front looks like it has a huge underbite lol. But that bigger engine is a huge plus. Way more power. Parts for that motor are very hard to get. Even a distributor cap is rare, so Sambars have way more parts out there than the Domingo on the engine, of course the body stuff are mostly the same except the bumpers.
