    Very similar. We use a Win10 box with two 27" monitors. One monitor normally runs M32-Edit as a second (faster) interface to the M32 and Reaper. The second monitor runs Waves Soundgrid for off-mixer channel processing. 100% agree running these apps on a shared ProPresenter Mac would be unworkable. Will be going to look for that patching software you referenced. Thx. D

    You actually can change the X32‘s RTA source to any input. I sometimes use it to ring out a room with the integrated oscillator.

    • @collabworship
      @collabworship  Месяц назад

      Yep! It just isn't as effective when you need to utilize the X32's display for other things.

  • @hoseacreative
    @hoseacreative Месяц назад

    If this is the dbx RTA-M mic it is a diffuse field mic which will show a large on-axis peak if you point it at the source. It is designed to be aimed 70 - 90° away from the direct sound, so point your mic at the ceiling and try again. It is also a pin 3 hot mic so it will create the illusion of a polarity reversal in all your measurements that is not really there.

    Thanks for posting. Watching the RTA while you were speaking makes me wonder if your room needs bass trap treatments to help eliminate low frequency buildup.

      @collabworship  Месяц назад

      No low-frequency build-up. Just a lot of low-frequency ambiance like A/C, construction nearby, etc.

    Future idea, add something like Waves superrack performer or live professor and show a bit of off-board processing on the new audio Mac. Like vocal tuning, other reverbs, etc.

    • @Bobby_Uterus
      @Bobby_Uterus Месяц назад

      That shouldn’t introduce some nice latency.

    • @FiveGhostOfficial
      @FiveGhostOfficial Месяц назад

      @@Bobby_Uterus A Mac mini will run superrack performer but it will introduce latency and that latency will increase in relation to your buffer size within superrack. I believe it’s around 5~6ms on the x32 platform running at 32 sample buffer size. Any DSP will be limited by the specs of the Mac mini and some plugins will add additional latency.

    • @Bobby_Uterus
      @Bobby_Uterus Месяц назад +1

      Correct, and vocalists will be the most affected by the latency. I suppose that if you are only processing front of house vocals and the singer is using IEMs it wouldn’t be as much of an issue.

    Tried this setup today and ran into a problem. The level of the reference mic in Open Sound Meter is way to high (30db above level measured by another meter). The reference mic is plugged into my SD8 attached to the X32 compact. I tried to reduce the gain on the channel the mic is connected to but it looks like it didn't have an effect. I tried to reduce the gain in X-USB in loopback and that didn't help either. How can I reduce the gain to get a closer match to the physical meter?

    • @collabworship
