  • Jim Gibson will show you how to install a computer RJ45 jack in a wall .
    In this video we demonstrate how to fish cable down a wall with aluminum 2x4's. We then demonstrate the proper technique for cutting a hole for a plaster ring to mount a jack.

    Jim, i am doing a home theater install and will be run from a basement, main level and 2nd level. how would you suggest installing ceiling speakers inside of a basement and on a main level. keeping in mind the central unit where the music source is located I.E dvd, mp3 player is located will be on the main level. here is the kit i would like to install home-technology-store com/home-audio/GE-CC-SC821-KIT.aspx

    Why not use a stud-finder?

    Pulling wire through metal studs without an insulator in the hole in many cases will skin the outer jacket of the cable.

      I have done it this way for 30 years and thousands of cable installs. never had a problem. I have seen some people use insulator, but in my opinion it does not add value to the install. Thanks for watching the video.
