    Love this idea man seems like im doing more charging than flight time.

    Cool. I just did the same thing to my son's heli.

    Did it fly any differently? Was the weight and balance affected by hanging the battery below the fuselage?

    I totally need to try this, thanks!

    Neat hack. Why is the rear rotor reversed (mine points upward)? Does this make the blade less susceptible to damage? Does doing this affect the controls (i.e., move stick forward for reverse, etc)?

    • @MTNPANTS
      @MTNPANTS  3 года назад +2

      Exactly, turning the tail rotor 180° makes the copter accelerate much more aggressively, but lags more to slow down. You to have to get used to the reversed controls.

    How about a bigger capacity batery?

  • @kurtsam5972
    @kurtsam5972 5 лет назад +5

    Nice, you think a bigger mah battery is ok? Like a 350mah?

    • @MTNPANTS
      @MTNPANTS  5 лет назад

      God kinG I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. But I’m not sure how the bigger size and weight of the battery would affect the helicopters flight which is why I stuck with the same size battery.

      Did you end up trying the 350mAh?

    • @piuyushpatel9623
      @piuyushpatel9623 3 года назад +1

      Probably won’t work. Too heavy. Even when 1g is too much weight for this helli. Cheers

    @ Mountain Drew, the mod wire is too long, it will ruin the battery life faster and shorten the flight time.

    • @MTNPANTS

      It certainly did :( but was fun for a little while. Hopefully others will see your comment

      What did you mean by the mod wire? as the new battery adapter? Ideally, how long should it be? sorry I don't know much about wiring

    Hi looks good Ive done these before on many RC however 3.7v 220mAh with velcro to secure however always solder and finishes off with heat shrink. The helicopter will spin up and lift off about a foot and dies all new batteries all the same 5-10 seconds flight time do you have any suggestions. Andy

    How long a flight time are you getting per battery now after the change.cheers

    • @MTNPANTS
      @MTNPANTS  4 года назад

      John Tchibukdjian about four minutes. It’s long enough that if you number and rotate the batteries in sequence the first battery is charged by the time the last one is spent. Very little if any down time.

    How did you get multiple batteries?

    • @MTNPANTS
      @MTNPANTS  4 года назад

      Nick Boss found on amazon unfortunately the link In Description is no longer available so you’d have to find something similar. As long as the voltage is the same, and the capacity is similar it should work.

    I’m not quite sure on how you did the wire deal there. Do I need tools for that?

    • @MTNPANTS
      @MTNPANTS  4 года назад +2

      Grinder Gaming need a way to cut and strip the wires. A utility razor knife could work but a $10 pair of wire strippers from the hardware store are well worth it. The rest is small zip tie and electrical tape.

    Hi! I've got a Syma s107h, the s107g upgrade with altitude hold. Can I upgrade with two 150 or 180 mah lipo batteries inside canopy or do you think they are too heavy? Thanks in advance.

    • @ramus9
      @ramus9 2 года назад +1

      I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I just bought two of the 180mAh batteries to install them in parallel to see how much battery life improves. Hopefully they're not too heavy for the helicopter.

    So whats the overall battery life now with one battery?

    • @MTNPANTS
      @MTNPANTS  3 года назад +1

      Flight time is about the same as original battery. The entire set up worked flawlessly for roughly three months of frequent usage at about 90 min per week before batteries began to fade and not hold a full charge anymore. It could be that I left the leads too long in the helicopter as someone suggested in the comments. I still consider to have gotten my money’s worth. A newer battery set is available here.
