I just find myself wondering how come they were allegedly always like this but from 2021(?) up until 2023 were always a top3 team with this strategy. maybe odo and trymbi were too important in executing this playstyle well, or the rest of the league just kinda figured rogue out now. Like I just watch them play now and ask myself wtf happened to this team lol
@@pfrosty1 I’m not sure either but my guess would be that teams like BDS, G2, MDK and FNC playing psycho aggressive makes it a lot harder to play the cautious/scaling style because if you try to chill under tower they’re just going to 4 man dive you and never let you farm

This was one of the better podcasts. The flow of the conversation was quite natural and i learned a lot about the way our top teams are punishing overgrouping teams as a guy who just watches league but not play it.
Odo and Finn are clearly united against the evil management, Drakos is healthy and full of life, wishing Dagda to get well soon and thank you for this insightful podcast!
Hylissang is the DnD player of League of Legends. Sometimes he rolls a natural 20 in games, sometimes he rolls a natural 1.
Hyli is does not roll a dice. He tosses a coin.
Loved Hyli in the past, but nowadays he just chooses plays that literally lose even if he rolls 20. Props to Carzzy for his mental at this point.

This is def on of your top 3 episodes of all time. Sad Dagda is out, but the synergi, charisma and banter in this episode is the perfect mix of hilarious and staying on track.
I always like to watch when Odo is there, I like the flow of him, Finn and Drakos.

This time having perma guests worked because there was no other host and Odo and Finn felt like co hosts here. There was like 5 minutes interview and than just a lot of game analysis. Me likes that.

For stats at 14", you can just say "stat by wave 15" or 20 or whatever. And it's decided that you record the numbers after that wave is dead.

It's actually pretty easy. You just need a stat after a moment in the game - they do these stats since years and the code won't change for that.

What a great duo to talk through the details and shows how ridiculous some things are regarding how people gather data and use it. Yea its good at times to reference but not looking at where and how picks are utilized makes you just makes you look like a clown when you lose with it.
Side note,
I am really glad Odo brought up that stupid Red Bull event for stats. Rules were absurd and obviously crafted to bias G2 or embarrass them if they lost to a completely banned out and jetlagged T1. It was a showcase event that people took way too seriously with the results.

Even though I agree with their predictions, and would rather have Fnatic facing G2, I want to point out that a BDS rematch wouldn't necessarily be the same. It happened in LCS last year, C9 stomped NRG in playoffs and got clapped back in the Finals. I can see a world where Adam goes back to his unique champ pool, G2 stumbles and BDS comes out on top. I wouldn't bet on it, but I won't count them out yet.
I don't get the Noah's small champion pool narrative: he has played 6 champions so far this split, same as Hans sama.
He even won on 4 out of the 6, so I double don't get it

I think its really hard to compare toplaners in a good team where they are supportet well and also perform really good in comparison to toplaners that perorm really well despite their team not playing around them or struggeling... that both BB and Irelevant are really good is probabliy the fairest assessment
I also think the value BB brings to the team is not visible just looking at the game play. The fact that he has a champ pool that matches his jungler and midlaner is something non of the other toplaner have, every other top is playing meta champs and adam has his niche picks but BB can play the meta picks but also has a million pocket picks to counter the meta picks.

Yes, and not only is his champion pool huge, he is also an insane teamfighter. He isn't the best laner, but his teamfights are almost always on point. Also he talks a lot in voice comms which is really valuable as well.

1:03:49 then no team is 5head because teams punish mistakes, thats how league is based if the enemy somehow plays literally perfectly none of your plays can work. The way league works is you have to identify the mistakes being made and then take action on that. Even if you dive bot which is seen as proactive, if this dive benefits you in the long run then the enemy made a mistake somewhere and you capitalized on that
The big difference I think in what they want to say is that G2 doesn't force the other team to group as 5 mid. A lot of "mistakes" made in league are forced mistakes in one way or another. If you go 5 mid and dive because you are behind and fail, that's a forced mistake. If you go 5mid and jerk off that's an int
You're oversimplifying it, even if you want to boil everything down to "teams punish mistakes", there's different types of mistakes. Some lane matchups are meant to get push and facilitate those dives, are you then going to say the draft was a mistake? Maybe they got better matchups for top and mid and bot had to suffer and play the losing lane. I don't clasify that as the same kind of mistake as choosing to overgroup when there's no objective and dropping XP and gold for no reason.
I also don't really believe every proactive play someone makes needs to be considered a mistake on the enemy's part, but that's subjective on how you want to define a mistake.

Disagree about Odo`s take about toplane, you could easily say that Zeus is the best toplaner or 369 is top 3 etc. With 369 even feeling the roles, he is still a machine of a toplaner
In 2022 i think 369 was the best top laner in the world, in 2023 it was zeus, but odo played worlds in 2022

He's not wrong though, Rogue did go from having a pretty decent team to being garbage. It's also true that our top teams have gotten weaker, imo it's the new format that gives way less room for experimentation and growth, but people think it's more fun with only 9 games so I guess we'll just keep swapping out players every offseason like a damn carousel and wonder why we're not improving when we need to restart with basics every time.

@@fullfradi95 You did entirely miss the point, which is that they swapped players when everyone was doing well and the team was working fine together, they then asked the new player to play exactly the same way as their old player did and then kept getting worse. Also Finn wasn't even on a team this last split so idk how he is to blame for the league getting wrose :)

52:20 I swear though how does Drakos come to these conclusions ? BDS didn't have chance vs G2, while FNC should have won their series vs them.
They keep trying to hype up BDS but who did BDS beat ? Heretics, who is as we saw one of the worst teams, and VIT ? who lost 2-0 to MDK , who FNC 2-0d.
They played vs G2 and it didn't even look like those teams are in the same league.
I kinda agree on this, they say G2 is a league above both bds and fnc and that bds will beat fnc(except Finn, ly Finn) while fnc looked alot better vs G2 and coudve won that series and took a convincing game, while BDS just looked like lost puppies. Perhaps as they say BDS style will work better on FNC, but i don't think so. I think FNC can tear BDS apart like G2 did on sidelanes, we've seen fnc(even in losses) drop mid/objectives to take gold on sidelanes and get towers on sidelanes just like G2. A caster who reviewed the games(Nymera) also had a good point in the fnc vs g2 1-2 series, during regular season game G2 went for a play on 1 side of the map, put down alot of vision there and then used tp's later onto that vision to force another winning play. FNC Did the same to G2 in the game they won and i think if they do these things vs BDS aswell, that they will tear BDS apart aswell. I might just be wrong and gold opinion/analysis. But i think FNC are and are able to do ALOT better than they think.

In regular season FNC G2 was a banger, in upper bracket FNC G2 was a very close series and game 3 FNC was super ahead too.
People are way too biased against FNC for no reason other than a banger series vs SK, this team was 2nd in summer last year.
