Love this channel appreciate you man. If you manage to read this, for the second Equalizer, it's great, BUT be prepared I think you're like me and there's a ROUGH scene near the start in a foreign place. Just based on how it was rough for you seeing the bad guy take out the other young lady. The movie is still worth it to watch, just brace.
NICE! Based on the 1985-1989 TV series of the same name, starring Edward Woodward. Denzel Washington plays a former CIA operative turned vigilante to help those in need of his assistance.
Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors of all time, no doubt about it, he has every qualification to be an actor, voice, presence, ability and style, this is simply a recommendation but Fallen is not only a great film but an underrated supernatural classic that has a stellar cast and excellent performances with Denzel Washington as the lead, definitely worth a look.
I love the fact that early in the movie, he pranks his coworkers by telling them that he was a Pip. Then right before the big store battle, he turns on the store speakers, and the song playing is "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips.
This movie is based on a TV series to from the 80s. The ending with Craigslist is a direct reference to it. Also I'm surprised with you being a bookworm you've never heard of the Old Man and the Sea
James, glad you saw this movie. It's awesome. You should also watch and react to the two sequels- Equalizer 2 and 3! They are awesome as well. Also, if it's not on your list, you should watch and react to "Collateral" with Tom Cruise. It's a rarity in which Tom Cruise plays a bad guy. Tom Cruise almost always plays a good guy or a hero.
I've watched most of Denzel's movies. My favorite, by far, was his autobiographical movie, Malcolm X. It's long. But I absolutely think it was his best that he should've got an Oscar for.
Denzel has an amazing filmography, and has great director collabs, so you could do weeks of Denzel + famous director alone 🤩 Spike Lee - Inside Man, He Got Game, Malcolm X, Mo Better Blues Tony Scott (RIP) - You watched their final collab with Unstoppable. Denzel was very much his muse before the end. Man on Fire remake, Taking of Pelham 123 remake, Deja Vu, and their first collab Crimson Tide. Antoine Fuqua - Training Day, The Magnificent Seven remake, the other 2 Equalizers And more...
James, Denzel is one of the greatest actors. Some stand out performances are Training Day, Crimson Tide and Glory. That one is set during The Civil War and you liking history is for sure one that you will love. Training Day is one of my all time favorite movies. He won an Oscar for it.
No wiring work required, some models of cars provide the ability to roll down the windows with the remote. FYI. Love ur channel, appreciate all the smiles you provide :)
OK guys. This is an awesome Movie with Denzel Washington. but we have to get him to watch Man On Fire!!!! love your channel. please like if you agree...
Enjoyed your reaction. The Equalizer is based on a 1980s TV series starring British actor Edward Woodward, set mainly in New York. Quite different actor (he looked like a senior bank manager) , but the same premise - a former superspy using his skillset to help people in trouble, Most of them came to him via a regular newspaper ad (the "Odds Against You?" on Craigslist is a direct callback to that). The approach was the same as here - he would start by approaching the bad guys (big company, street gang, corrupt cop, whatever), and politely suggesting they back off. In certain circumstances, he would even offer some kind of deal. When the bad guys inevitably refused his offer, he would then take their organization completely apart "Dollar by dollar, brick by brick, body by body." This movie is a worthy follow-on to that series.
Denzel - Malcom X Crimson Tide Fallen The Hurricane Remember the Titans Training Day John Q Man on Fire Inside Man American Gangster**** The Book of Eli Flight Magnificent Seven
Denzel has been in some of the greatest movies over the past 30+ years. When you can, check out his catalogue. His first Oscar win was from this drug movie called Training Day. He played a police officer training a newbie in his line of policing.
Great movie. Fyi The Equalizer is based on a successfull 80's tv show. Another great movie by Denzel is John Q (Which is the best one he made in my opnion you really should see it). Also another movie like this is the first Jack Reacher movie.
Your going to love all three movies in the series, but for me I liked the third the best. I remember the original 80s TV series with Edward Woodward as Robert McCall. Love watching your reactions
Mostly filmed in my hometown (East Boston) Massachusetts and a few surrounding towns like Chelsea and Lynn. Strangely, Robert's apartment in EB is the same street they filmed "Blown Away" & "Mystic River" in back in the day. Good times. Nice reaction!
LOVE DENZEL!!!! 😁 Another great film is THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123. It has both Denzel and a train! It’s a remake and came out ‘09. Great reaction! Can’t wait for Friday.
Love Denzel Washington, and The Equalizer franchise, is a definite favorite. Please watch the sequels, 2 & 3. Thanks for this reaction, James & Sons.👍🏼
All the books you read and ya didn’t read The Old Man and the Sea?! Hemingway man. ;-) That’s the fish him and the girl were talking about in the diner.
Check out the other two Equalizer films too, both great! Did you notice David Harbor in The Equalizer film? He played the guy who Denzil tried to carbon monoxide. David Harbor played the cop Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, looks a little different without the beard.
Since you mentioned train movies in the opening because of Unstoppable starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine - Denzel did another train movie the year before that, and with the same director as Unstoppable no less, in the movie The Taking of Pelham 123. It's a remake of a movie from 1974, has a great cast, and featured a long-awaited return for John Travolta to play a villain again (as he did gloriously in the 90's).
There are really SO MANY great Denzel Washington films... (it's actually kind of difficult to find bad ones) Some of my personal favorites, Glory, Crimson Tide, Training Day, American Gangster, Man on Fire, Remember the Titans, and the Equilizer trilogy. Some of the more under-rated ones I would also recommend are John Q, the Hurricane, and Philadelphia (where he costarred with Tom Hanks) He really is one the great cinematic treasures
Denzel is one of the greats. John Q is probably his most underrated film. Philadelphia with Tom Hanks is great. But my favorite is Man on Fire! I hope you get to those movies one day but your 2 picks this week are also great.
The music in the store that comes on to indicate that McCall is there is Gladys Kight and the Pips' hit song Midnight Train to Georgia, harkening back to when McCall said he had been a Pip.
One reason I like the original show over the movie and the remake of the show is that the original Robert McCall used to use a lot more of his brain. He did need to get hands on so much
What you said about what is Good without Bad sounds like something out of Paradise Lost by John Milton. Just like the girl in the movie, I think I need to get into more books.
Magnificent 7. Newer one with Denzel and the 2nd girl in this movie. Very good remake of an older movie for silure. Has jam packed actors in that movie. Very much worth the Watch Training Day , Book of Eli, not one movie Denzel was bad. Hes definitely the Best actor on the planet. Also another movie was Out of Time, Dejavu, and one of his best is "Man in Fire "Lwts nit forget, Phelam 123 ,Glory, and Remember 2024 , Gladiator 2 is coming very soon
9:57 thats th woman that played in "Magnificent 7" the newest one. If you haven't seen tht movie please do. Its very much worth the wqtch. Great Remake of Magnificent 7.
Since you liked this and you're a book lover... I recommend the 'Orphan X' book series by Gregg Hurwitz. Trying to maintain his humanity, a highly trained government assassin goes rogue to spend his time helping the helpless as "The Nowhere Man". We're up to book 9 now and they're really great reads.
Alina's friend (the pretty redhead) is played by Haley Bennet. She has worked with director Antoine Fuqua before on The Magnificent Seven remake, and Denzel though they don't share any scenes here. An early role of hers you would enjoy is Music & Lyrics, with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant.
I used to work in a hardware store so, of course, I knew the floor plan quite well. The villains are so very stupid for trying to hit McCall on his home turf. edit: 30:46 Ha! Dad joke FTW!!
Among the cheapest selections on Kindle, often free, are the public domain collections of books, Harvard Classics, The 100 Greatest Novels, American Classics, a few others. I prefer dead tree reads, but to carry a classical library in my pocket, I will compromise.
*Inside Man* (2006) is another top notch Denzel movie, that has some other really great actors in it, to cross familiarize yourself. There are lots though. And not many outright duds.
Since you already saw unstoppable, you must check out the train movie Denzel did, before it called Taking Of Pelham 123. It is the only remake of a major film I think is as good as the original (which stars Walter Matthau, who was at his zenith.)
@@AwesomeUSMovies I’m pretty sure I watched the full length reaction on Patreon. I knew someone reacted to it. I wasn’t sure but I guess it was probably you! 😊 I love that movie. I’ll probably go there tonight and watch it again! Thanks!! 😊

Training Day, Book of Eli, Man on Fire, Crimson Tide, John Q., Courage Under Fire
I think Remember the Titans is still my favorite Denzel Film.
@@gk5891for sure
Good selection. Also Two Guns.
Crimson Tide.. absolutely a fantastic movie, a personal favorite. I completely recommend that one.
No one watches Malcolm X. It's like watching Tom Hanks movies and not watching Forrest Gump.
NICE!
Based on the 1985-1989 TV series of the same name, starring Edward Woodward.
Denzel Washington plays a former CIA operative turned vigilante to help those in need of his assistance.
They asked Denzel to star in the show first, he turned it down as he was doing St Elsewhere.

If you love Denzil, watch Training Day or America Gangster. He was amazing in those movies.
The Book:
"Old Man and the Sea" Ernest Hemingway
The book is “The Old Man and The Sea” by Ernest Hemingway. A movie starring Spencer Tracy was made of the story decades ago.
This movie is based on a TV series to from the 80s. The ending with Craigslist is a direct reference to it.
Also I'm surprised with you being a bookworm you've never heard of the Old Man and the Sea

Philadelphia, with two great actors in Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks. Great movie!!
Yes! I can’t wait to see his reaction to Philadelphia!
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
Your laugh is infectious! I love your channel. ❤ This is one of my favorite action films. And Denzel is badass in any role he takes on.
Thanks for watching!
Training Day and Deja Vu are great ones.
Deja Vu for me! We're the only ones apparently.

American Gangster, with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, directed by Ridley Scott, is a great, great movie.

Thank you so much. I'm enjoying it
This is set in Boston. Oh, never mind, you will figure it out when the BPD gets involved later in the movie. 😂

Fun to see you notice the Sony product placement. Their films are always so obvious with it.
Denzel has been in some of the greatest movies over the past 30+ years. When you can, check out his catalogue. His first Oscar win was from this drug movie called Training Day. He played a police officer training a newbie in his line of policing.
He was reading Ernest Hemmingway's The Old Man and the Sea. One of the great modern classics.
The one where he is a Airline Pilot is a good one❤
Great movie. Fyi The Equalizer is based on a successfull 80's tv show. Another great movie by Denzel is John Q (Which is the best one he made in my opnion you really should see it). Also another movie like this is the first Jack Reacher movie.

Glory, the movie that won Denzel his first Oscar.
Check out Two Guns, Denzel, Mark Walberg and Bill Paxton plus more. I don't think anyone has reacted to it and it's worth the watch.
Please do" The Magnificent 7" Denzel as a cowboy, enough said.

Philadelphia its great crying in the end of it 😅take care Annie
The girl Denzel is protecting from the beginning is Hut Girl, in Badass
Highly recommend "Unstoppable" with Denzel. You will love it. Based on real events. Right up your street I promise

The music in the store that comes on to indicate that McCall is there is Gladys Kight and the Pips' hit song Midnight Train to Georgia, harkening back to when McCall said he had been a Pip.
Another great Denzel-goes-BA movie is Man On Fire. Or a good emotional Denzel flick is John Q.
A few train movies are
Bullet train, train to Busan, 3:10 to Yuma, the great train robbery and, murder on the orient express.
The Book of Eli is another really great Denzel Washington movie
Training Day is a -must-watch and may be Denzel's best movie.
One reason I like the original show over the movie and the remake of the show is that the original Robert McCall used to use a lot more of his brain. He did need to get hands on so much

Best Denzel movie for me is Deja Vu from 2006.
Just watched this recently and couldnt believe how great it was. Denzel is just the best. loved the 2nd one too. havent gotten to the 3rd yet.
20:15 That was theft, sir. 😂 Indeed!
Please do “American Gangster”
The fish story? The Old Man and the Sea (famous book)
Denzel Washington's character in this is basically a retired spy kinda like Liam Neeson in Taken
Agreed
9:57 thats th woman that played in "Magnificent 7" the newest one. If you haven't seen tht movie please do. Its very much worth the wqtch. Great Remake of Magnificent 7.

Yes on Denzel. Can't go wrong. After watching this, you should see Nobody.
Actually I already did. Just hasn't been released yet
