Love that the books in the movie are an important part in the film. 1) Old Man & The Sea; Robert says that we are who we have to be. 2) Don Quixote; Robert explains to Teri/Alina that it's about a man who's a knight in shining armor. Exepct he's in a land where knights no longer exist. 3) The Invisible Man; At the end of the film him answering the personal ad continuing his vigilante activities.
When Robert says, "I'm sorry." when Slavi dies on the floor, he's apologizing to his deceased wife for going back on his word to her that he wouldn't go back to being the lethal operator that he was. Great reaction! Oh, and if you plan on watching the other two Equalizer movies, they are excellent as well.
Hey, thanks for checking out the video! Ahh its great to hear the other movies are good as well! They are definitely on the list to check out, this was so much fun! 😁 - R
Robert: "What happened to your face?" Alina: "Something stupid" Next day while at work after taken out Slavi and his goons Ralphie: "What happened to your hand?" Robert: "Hit it on something stupid"
The song Robert played over the intercom at the store was Gladys Knight and The Pips. The group he jokingly told the guys he used to be a part of. That was he way to signal to his friends that he was there.
Ahh it's great to hear the other movies in this franchise are good too! They are firmly on the list to check out now! And I've not heard of that film but will look into it, thanks for the recommendation and checking out the video 😁
Also the subscribers and the views are different…. People who comment who are not subscribed to yall…. They are picky about channels which is stupid!!!
One of the best things about this movie is the fact that Denzel’s acting hits just as hard as the punches he throws. Robert gets into the heads of his victims during the conversation, and the resulting violence is just a formality.
This is based on a US TV show from the 80's of the same name. In the movies, Robert helps others to atone for the things he did at the "Agency." What sets Robert apart from others like Teddy is when is in "killng/revenge" mode, he is methodical and emotionless and does what he does because he can. On the other hand, Teddy is very emotional and does what he does because he loves it.
Great reaction! His background is: DIA or Defense Intelligence Agency Spy, Hitman/Assassin, and Black Ops Operative (formerly). United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant (formerly). Skills: Military training, high intelligence, expert marksman, expert martial artist, high pain tolerance, expertise in weaponry, master tactician, knife mastery, explosive mastery, multilingualism
Yes, 'The Equalizer' was originally an American TV series that was on the CBS network staring British actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall. It ran from September 18, 1985 - August 24, 1989. It was a total of 88 episodes. Enjoyable reaction by both of you of the first film with Denzel Washington. This one and the third one are my favorites of the three films. The second one is alright, but my least favorite. Though, it is well worth the watch.
Love this trilogy . Make sure before you get to part 3 watch MAN ON FIRE as part 3 is a reunion of costar from that movie and it's excellent as well as it is more like a prequel to the Equalizer series as same director and all and his turn in Man in Fire led directly to this trilogy
The henchman with the mustache that you pointed out has similar bit parts in a few other action movies worth checking out: "The Accountant," "John Wick," and "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle." I'd actually call the last one an action/comedy rather than a pure action movie. All three movies and their sequels are worth watching.
@@SofaSloths Yes he does. He looks pretty much exactly the same in all of them. That's why I so easily remembered seeing him in those movies even though he is only on screen for a minute or two in any of them.
Yeah, when Robert apologized after killing those Russians... he was saying sorry to his wife, who passed away. He promised her would never go back to being that person
2 & 3 are very good,as well. And you should watch NOBODY with Bob Odenkirk and Christopher Lloyd, and THE ACCOUNTANT with Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal.
Well, that is certainly one way to get equal, ha! But what an awesome reaction, Sloths! I know Ryan is probably conditioned now by all those _Alien_ reactions, hehe, but Naomi, you looked really "shooketh" by certain scenes! Do you two agree on the most creative kill then? I must admit, I ended liking it a little more than (the first) _John Wick_ , if only for a tad more wholesome story and such great performances - Denzel was super as usual but Marton Csokas was terrifyingly effective as a bad guy. Also, have to admit I am not that much familiar with Washington's filmography overall, but out of the films I have seen, I would recommend _Fallen_ , _The Pelican Brief_ and definitely _The Preacher's Wife_ .
Ahh so glad you checked out the movie!! What did you think? And then thanks for coming back to check out the reaction! Most creative is SO HARD in this movie! There were some truly creative moments in this haha! That is one of the things I loved about this movie, it had a lot of heart underneath the action! Oooh haven't seen any of these recommendations thanks so much! 😁

I don't know how others interpret this part. But, just before he kills all the men at Slavi's bar. His opening and closing the door was his internal conflict before he committed to breaking his promise and helping Aliena. I always thought that was a powerful piece of character development. So small and huge at the same time. I would love to hear others' opinions.
Hey, they're back! Yes!! Glad to see you both and looking forward to your reaction of this! EDIT - Ryan's "He's got a hunger for knowledge" joke, haha, so bad its good!!
Enjoyed your reaction. Subbed. If you're looking for similar movies to the Equalizer: John Wick, Nobody, Jason Bourne, and Taken are all good movies. A couple of movies that I've looked for reactions to that I don't see a lot of other reactors watching yet are: Breaking Away (1979), Miracle (2004), A Time To Kill (1996), The Punisher (2004). Keep up the great work!
Hey, thanks so much for checking out the video and for the recommendations AND the sub! A couple on your list have been suggested by others so we may have to check them out soon! As for your less reacted to movies, I haven't even heard of most of them so I will look into them! Thanks!
I love Breaking Away. A Time To Kill is good. I'd like to recommend a couple of lesser known movies as well. One is from Disney, called Night Crossing, a true story about 2 families who escaped communism using a hot air balloon they built in secret. The other film I recommend is a lesser known Stallone film, called Escape to Victory, also about escaping communism.
Many parts of this movie were filmed in my hometown (East Boston) and the town just over the bridge in Chelsea. Notably, two other movies filmed on that same block were "Blown Away" & "Mystic River." I hope you do the latter someday as the former wasn't that great. Nice Reaction too!
Alsocheck out LAW ABIDING CITIZEN with Gerard Butler and Jaime Foxx keeps you guessing till the end and has a great story with several twists for a crime thriller. Like SE7EN but better
