Hi Christy-Lyn, I purchased your sheet music & video lesson for Amazing Grace. I love how you break it down into small sections. I am enjoying your teaching very much. The challenge I am having is that when I played the same note that you are playing on the video it sounded out of tune, My harp is tuned to C (all my levers down) and I retuned it with my KORG chromatic turner once again and it showed it was on tune. Should that be happening?
Hi Linda! Good to hear from you 😃 That is a puzzling question! Do you have perfect pitch? There are only two explanations I can think of: 1) It’s only veeeery slightly out of tune and you have very good pitch so the difference seems big to you 2) There’s a wrong setting on your tuner, so your harp isn’t tuned to A=440hz. If you’d like me to try helping a bit more, perhaps you could send me a recording of you playing a few notes of Amazing Grace so I can hear the tuning of your harp? ☺️
@@LearningtheHarp Thank you so much Christy-Lyn for your helpful response. I checked my turner & it was 423hz. So I have changed it to 440hz, will retune my harp and look forward to playing again with your video and hearing the difference. Thanks again!!!
Hi Christy-Lyn! I would love to buy this bundle but I have one concern. I have a small 22 string lap harp that starts and ends with E strings. How would I adjust Awe and Wonder since I don’t have the lowest C string and not enough octaves to move the whole piece up one octave?
Hi Laurie. That’s a good question! I didn’t write this piece to be written on such a small harp, but you could make some simple changes to adapt it a bit. In measures 8 and 24 you could just play the C an octave higher. In measures 13 and 17 where you can’t play the bottom D, I would place your left hand 3 2 1 on the other three notes of the arpeggio (F, G, B) and instead of playing D F G B (with fingers 4 3 2 1) you can play B F G B (with fingers 1 3 2 1). Does that make sense? ☺️ If not, email me and I’ll try to explain a bit more!
Learning the Harp with Christy-Lyn! Yes sounds good! Thank you! I will get this new bundle as well. Really enjoy your teaching and your smile! My husband says almost every night “Soundin’ good Darlin’”. He was born in Texas! I also recently purchased New Sun Dress and Ripples of Water. I have issues with the range in Sundress but I am trying to adjust so my fingers don’t crash into each other on the same string between LH and RH.
Hi Alma. Sorry you are having trouble, that sounds very frustrating! Perhaps there is a solution, since there are many people successfully using the Video Courses on iPads. Please contact customer support at hello@learningtheharp.com and they will help you, and they can guide you through closing your account if it still doesn’t work. All the best, I hope it works out! 😊💕
I forgot to mention, this piece is in the key of C, so if you have a harp without levers it will work just fine! 👌🏻
Please post more songs especially those with the key of C. I love your videos. Your tutorials helps much for us to learn the harp.
Thank you very much
